  1. Hi and good luck some insurances approve quickly & easily I hope u are approved quickly enjoy ur journey
  2. Excellent....I love when the change is for the better
  3. I haven't told my family yet I know they would have a lot to say I come from a family with the mentality if u want to lose weight get up & exercise so they wouldn't understand the work it takes with the lapband so I know they would look at it as the easy way I don't even want to have that discussion it will b hard enough limiting myself at family functions " remember all you have to do.it run yourself till death" and whollah you will be thin so just my husband
  4. Just keep trying to get it all in you need your nutrition up while you bdy is healing. I haven't be banded yet but I had my gall bladder removed by lap and the pain is tough and the gas moves around becuase it is trying to find a way out of you. I know you might not feel up to it but the more you walk the easier it will find it's way. If you dont feel like walk try to stand or sit up as much as you can it really helps move it down eventually.. that's my experience at least I hope that it is helpful
  5. AWESOME ...so you are starting the pre-diet now, right? You are doing slimfast right? well congrats to you I am so excited for you
  6. well that is great when I got to my insuraunce site . It showed I have a claim submitted from my consult day with the surgeon and it just says pending..Wouldn't it be funny if they already submitted everything and I'm doing the stuff that the Dr requires?( and then I wake up from the dream... ) well either way my last appt is 18JUL so we shall see keep me posted on how you are doing I can cheer you on
  7. I wish they could send me the questionare before hand so I can answer all of that and then I would just have to meet with the Psych DR
  8. @sandymax and dhales funny...you made me LOL....I'm glad someone asked I wanted too but I just said how soon can I go back to my normal routine(smile...pretty vague)
  9. Hi Rebecca, Glad to hear you are moving along. I had hoped to be under 200(lose 28) by my birthday(oct) maybe too unrealistic but it doesn't look like I'm going to have a surgery date untilAug(or later ) so now I 'm thinking maybe meet my goal by my next birthday. I don't have a mini goal yet.
  10. very encouraging for someone just starting out..thanks for the updates
  11. Hi, sorry I never went to a seminar. I went to the surgeon straight out and he recommended a web seminar for me and we started everything the same day. every DR office is different, though
  12. It sounds terrible I have mine scheduled for 15 Jun I hope I can keep it all down so they can see what they need to see
  13. I'm very happy that you are approved I thought u do all ur exams & then they submit everything to the insurance company am I misunderstanding the process
  14. I feel the same way I read all the post & I get really motivated to get started but I don't want the insurance co to say no I don't submit my paperwork until the end of July so I don't know if they will use my intial weight or my current weight so I am just working on increasing my water to 64 oz and eating really slow so that don't be a challenge Sydney u get banded
  15. Slime...sounds really gross does everyone get that what can I GI to prevent it
  16. I am a now person too I found out the earliest psych exam is 18 Jul part of me says wait there is no rush the other part is like call around & get someone else...right now I'm just waiting ill have everything else done by 15 Jun then ill just wait for that appt hopefully it won't take the full 30 days for the insurance co to make a decision
  17. 18. great attitude I am so happy that you ar getting results I am very impatent to get started but I have to wait( for insurance to say yay or nay) but as I look at diffrent profile my wait seems like it will be shorter than the average so that makes me stop complaining. In my minds eye I see the thin person I can be and I am ready to fire up the engines...I am hoping to be where you are by August wish me luck
  19. I haven't beend banded yet but I read in one forum that when you first get surgery the can be swelling so your band might be tight so maybe that is treu and now the swelling is gone just a suggestion you might want to look into
  20. sorry I never heard of "gauged foods" if I find out anything I will share
  21. well tha kinda of sicks I was think once I paid the balance to the hospital I would not have anymore out of pocket expenses for the rest of the year. Sorry you are having so much trouble.
  22. Hi I just joined the group are we planning a challenge for June?
  23. Great Jim, way to stick with it the weeks with not results can really be discouraging but you got there. I am hoping to join you by August. I'm more nervois about the pre surgery diet. Obviously sticking with diets are not my strong suit( or I wouldn't be here) but I have time before I need to worry about that(the pre-worrier that I am) Good luck and Happy losing....
  24. I thought that you pay your portion of the bill up front. If you do have to it should make you meet your out of pocket expense, right? so I shouldn't have to pay co-pays after that right? not sure that I understand how it works. my total out of pocket expense right now is $2381.00 but my deductible is $650.00 my plan is a 80/20 plan so do I just have to pay the $650 before surgery and they bill me the rest? I thought I had to pay the 2381.00 when surgery is scheduled.
  25. congrats to you and Good luck I am so excited for you and I can't wait to join you
