  1. Glad you went to the hospital Being dehydrated must be hellish. I have had some problems with it but never to that extent. I will have to remember to keep sipping all the time after surgery.
  2. Three months and 85 pounds is amazing. Your pictures are beautiful. Congratulations!!!
  3. Hope you feel better soon!
  4. Did they give you anumber to call if youhave any problems? I would call them or call the nurses line at your local hospital and see if you should go to the ER.
  5. Have you been getting enough liquids? Maybe your dehydrated. I haven't had surgery yet but when start to get dehydrated I get muscle pains.
  6. Why are you unhappy with the sleeeve? it looks like you have lost alot of weight.
  7. I haven't had surgery yet but as i am packing up my summer clother it dawned on me that I probably won't be wearing them again. I have lots of clothes and it made me a little sad about all the money i have spent. I hope I can find a good way to resale to get a little cash for new ones. I have a job that requires me to dress very nicely. I am not letting myself by anything else until after my surgery. I have even heard your shoe size can change. This is a great forum for sharing and I may do something that I saw someone else did and post pictures of clothing for sale and try to sell them that way. Much easier than ebay I think.
  8. Very impressive!

Wow!!! congrats on the great work. I hope I can do as well as you.
  10. Wow, just wanted to say you have a very lucky wife to have such a supportive husband.
  11. Do you have to meet with a dietician? I have to see a dietician every month during my 6 month period, but it is a requirement from my insurance company. She has me on a diet that has six servings of carbs, six of protien, three veggies, two fruits and two fats a day. Then for snacks I am supposed to have 1 cup of skim milk I lost the first month but haven't done as well the second two months but it teaches a lot of the habits you need to have to have success after the surgery. I don't know how the doctoer would expect you to be losing weight if he doesn't give you any guidance. If you could lose it on your own why would you be having surgery.
  12. My NUT says only water counts but I am having a hard time agreeing with it. I like crystal light or caffiene free tea/ coffee and i can't understand why it shouldn't count towards the water requirement.

I haven't had my psych evaluation yet but I am also thinking about counseling. I know there is a psychological reason for my weight getting out of control. I am wondering if I will be successful if I don't confront the issues that are contributing to my weight problem but i have no idea what my issues are!
  14. how is it going? I had a weekend away and did not follow my food plan but plan to start to again tomorrow! I need to get going with at least half an hour of exercise everyday. How are you doing?
  15. My dietician says no to eating creaql with milk on it.
  16. I haven't had my WLS yet but i have had surgery on my back and was in the hospital for four days. My advice is to relax and let the nurses take care of you and not read to much into what you are seeing. Your heart rate will go down when you relax, easy for me to say, right! How are you feeling, are youin pain? Do you have someone there with you?
  17. @slenderella Thanks for your encouragement I see the dietician tomorrow and know I have gained back at least some of the weight I lost the first two months. I guess the good thing that came out of it is I am sure I want the surgery. I was thinking maybe I could to it on my own but I guess I know for sure to really change I need it. I think she will be ppy with me for almost eliminating diet coke, I was drinking at least three or four a day and now I am only having one every few days.
  18. I haven't had the surgery yet but have the same story as you. I am about 95% committed to having the surgery. I was first going to have the lap band but my surgeon discouraged me from that and we focused mainly on gastric bypass. I have really not wanted to do that so I have been doing alot of research and have decided on the sleeve. My insurance will conver the sleeve and hope the surgeon will do the sleeve instead of the bypass. My husband just keeps saying eat less and exercise more and you wouldn't need the surgeryl Yeah I have tried that over and over and in the end Ijust gain back what I lose plus some. I really feel like this is the answer I have been looking for.
  19. @slenderellla You look great! I am so excited to get going with this, I am not enjoying the six month but have to get through it!!! the worst part is feeling like a failure because I have not been abble to follow this diet like I should be, I lost weight in the beginning but have gained sone of it back and not looking forward to getting weighed in when i go this week.
  20. Maybe they will have you on oxygen? It seems strange that they wouldn't want you to use it. I get sick when I don't use mine. I am feeling horrible today because I didn't sleep well with it last night and get horrible leg aches.
  21. I am struggling with the supervised diet also. I started out great and lost 12 pounds but I see the dietician this week and am sure I have gained some back. One thing the dietician does is ask me a series of questions: Are you chewing your food to mush? Are you drinking pop or juice? Are you drinking alcoholic drinks? Are you exercising? I think they are wanting to know you are starting to make the changes you need to make to be successful with the surgery. I have done it for three months and am sick of it. If I could lose the weight on my own I wouldn't need the surgery. Well I will just keep plugging along but I have been worried that if I don't keep losing i may not qualify so glad to read everyone's post.
  22. What is your pre op diet and how long have you been on it? When is your surgery? I have to be on a diet for six months and I am struggling too. I keep thinking if I could follow this diet I wouldn't need the surgery!
  23. I am close to the same schedule as you. I have to be on the supervised diet for 6 months, looking at a surgery date in January. How is your diet going? I am struggling. I lost in the beginning but now I am afraid i have gained some back. It is tough, only 1300 calories.
  24. I am curious how long most people need to be off work after surgery, I don't have a desk job, I need to be able to stand and to some lifting although I can limit the amount for awhile.
