  1. The not drinking when eating is concerning me also. If i don't drink when I eat I get heartburn and am wondering if that will continue after the surgery. I have my consult on June 22 but I have been doing alot of research.
  2. I have my first appointment at the bariatric department at the University of Iowa on June 22. I am not sure what to expect as the appointment is 4-5 hours long. I am also wondering what happens next and what the time frame is for actually getting the surgery? Do the doctors at the U have you follow a diet before the surgery and if they do for how long? I have a couple things going on in July and August and I am having a hard time figuring outhow my summer will go as I want the surgery to be top priority.
  3. I really don't know what I am going to do about telling others. I am in the beginning stages and have my evaluation appointment. I have mentioned to a few people, family members and a couple close friends and they were more supportive of the idea then I thought they would. My husband doesn't want me to but I think he will support me when I make the final decision. I have a hard time keeping things to myself so doubt if I will be able to keep it a secret at work but I would like to keep it private.
