  1. Woo Hoo..... September will be a month we never forget! I'm so excited for all of us!!! Jessica
  2. I wanted the sleeve so bad. My thought for a year was that I was getting it done! My final consult and my surgeon tells me that he didn't recommend the sleeve because of my hernia. I wish you the best! I've heard a lot if people say they wish it had been an option for them. Jessica
  3. Hey there! WELCOME! Hopefully you will find this forum very supportive! I love it... I kinda think I'm addicted to it. I had to do a six month diet also. When I started, it seemed like it would be forever but now that it's over, I can't believe it went by so fast! There's probably nothing you can go through that someone on here hasn't already been through! Good luck on your journey!!! Jessica
  4. Wooo Hooo! It seems like forever but it will be here before we know it! Jessica
  5. Some insurances do require you to lose some weight, mine was the opposite. I have a ten day full liquid sugar free diet before surgery. I imagine I will lose ten pounds or more from that. This is a great forum. People will respond... =) The purpose of the liquid diet before hand is to shrink your liver. Some don't have to do it and some have a variation of length. Every surgeon is different. Good luck on your journey! We are all here for you! Jessica
  6. Good luck tomorrow... God bless! Keep us posted on how you're doing! Jessica
  7. I've seen several people post that you tolerate things very different after surgery. I thought about stocking up on some now but my luck, I would buy what would make me sick. I hear
  8. I bet! Congratulations.... Do you have to do a pre-op diet? Jessica
  9. I was told not to take them. All of my meds have to be crushed. I guess all doctors are different though. I was on Effexor xr. It's a capsule but can't be opened because it's extended release. My primary Dr switched me to a regular tablet twice a day. It's actually the one that tastes soooooo bad!!! It would be the same as swallowing a piece of candy. I'm gonna try to do exactly what my doctor wants, I'm sure that's easier said than done though....lol. Jessica
  10. Yes after... My surgeon said I will have to crush all my pills for eight weeks. Jessica
  11. Does anyone have any advice for taking crushed meds? My Vitamin and another med are horrid tasting! Jessica
  12. One month till surgery.... Let the countdown begin! Pre register and pre op testing September 05 liquid diet September 09 Jessica
  13. Good luck with everything. Keep us posted.
  14. Hey there! Congratulations!!! I will most likely be off for six weeks. I work in health care and do a lot of lifting and tugging/pulling. My dr said if I had a desk job I could go back in about three. I'm not supposed to drive for the first two weeks. Let us know when your date is....
  15. Ok... 16. Have you thought about switching doctors? That's a lot of grief they are giving you! They should be supportive of your decision. I'm sorry you're going through all this. If you switch dr's all your records go with you! My pcp was AWESOME! I would find someone willing to help. Ask co workers, go to a few local WLS support groups and find out who there doctors are and if they accepting new patients. We all wish you the best. I've been at this for a little over a year and a half and my surgery is scheduled for Sept 19. If this is what you really want for yourself, DON'T GIVE UP - you are worth it!!!
  17. Come join us in "September Members" as we support one another. All Sept members have surgery scheduled for Sept.
  18. COME JOIN US in the "September Member" group! It's for those of us having surgery in Sept!

  20. Rachel, You are in my prayers! Let us know how everything goes!
  21. Hi there everyone! Jessica - uniqueladybug Sept 19
  22. Hey there! I don't start my pre-op diet until Sept 9. My insurance is the weirdest... If I lose 10% I don't qualify. Most you have to lose to qualify. Since I've already been approved, I should probably start trying to lose some before surgery just so I don't have to lose as much after.
  23. Woo Hoo! Congratulations....
