  1. I feel your pain. I can't wait for next summer when (hopefully) ill be down lbs!! You can do it! Just think of how good it feels to look healthy! I'm not even banded yet!! Hehe keep it up!!!
  2. Alright. Im 5'2. Started at 262 with a BMI of 52. im 23 yrs old and I have not been banded yet. Started the journey in beginning of may. waiting for insurence approval Been off work for a week from gallbladder surgery. When i was waking up in recovery my doc was talking with my husband on how upset he was that I hadn't lost weight since day 1. It made me feel awful!! I started walking the day after even though it was painful. I'm on day 6 after surgery and I just walked 3 miles! I'm sore on my tummy because around one incision there's a knarly yellow bruise and it's right where my roll is so its always under pressure. Ouch! But I'm down 9 lbs since Saturday and drinking 2 Protein shakes a day and one healthy meal. I've been trying something new, hoping it helps.... Every mirror I walk past in my house, I stop. Look. And really just take in how BIG I am! It hurts me to see how big I've gotten, and I hate doing it, but now everything I want to cheat on my diet I stop and see that image of me. It helps!! Also, I changed my phones background to a HORRIBLE fat picture of me, and I ALWAYS have my phone on me, so I see that picture and it just motivates me like no other!! Now the scale thing, i have a question about that...how often should I weigh myself!? I don't want to be the person that weighs them-self every morning and gets upset if they gained and ounce! Or do I? Anyways, need some encouragement here..waiting for insurence approval is killing me! But can't wait to show doc next week during check up I've lost weight!! Thanks from California
  3. Thanks for the inspiration!! Exciting!! I can't wait to drop my size 22!! And Boobie size too!! Can't wait to not be a 44F!!!
  4. HAHA omg! I'm using the iPhone app and when I use a smiley face those weird symbols appear! Haha tooooo funny!
  5. Im ganna try the cocoa powder!! That will probably help A LOT! I hope Dr gives me the clear for other liquids, like soup and jell-o but for now it's protein shakes LONGEST MONTH OF MY LIFE! I know the end results will be amazing, but I want meat! Bread! Potatoes! Lol gatta get my SKINNY thinking going!
  6. Skinny sex!!!!!! Can't wait!! ???ƒ???ƒ???ƒ
  7. Had my gallbladder out on sat and doc put me on nothing but protein shakes for a month! I'm going insane!! I'm on the Atkins advantage shakes and I can't stand them!! This is by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do! I dream about food, I crave food! Am I the only one!? Has anyone else been put on protein shakes for 1 month? The reason he's doing this is because I have to much fat under my skin for even the port! I understand it's important, but MY GOD IT'S HARD! I've already dropped 7 lbs in 4 days, and that makes me so happy, but HELP! I need encouragement! I have 27 more days of these things!!!
  8. Oh goodness! Idk where that face came from!! Lol it's 858 715 1822!
  9. (858) 715-1822 hope it works out!
  10. Dr Khalil at ambulatory care in San Diego..I'm not sure if he just does fills for non patients but it's worth a try..he's a great doc
  11. My doctor said I'd have a higher chance of infection, if I did both at once...I didn't have any gallbladder pain but a huge stone, so they just decided to take it out so ur wouldn't give me problems after I got banded..did you have yours done at the same time??
  12. I just got my gallbladder removed yesterday, holy hell! I panicked in the recovery room because it was my first ever surgery. The anesthesiologist had to give me a shot to calm me down. I've never been in more pain! I have 4 incisions, and a HUGE bruise on my belly from the blood thinner shot...then my doctor put me immediately on my liquid diet and I'll be banded in a month! If it's this painful idk what I'll do!! Anyone else been they this surgery then a month later an other surgery! I'm happy to be banded, but I'm such a baby!!
  13. My 'ah ha' moment was when I realized I'm only 23 and have to shop in the women's section!
  14. It's Tuesday! How did it go???
  15. I have not been banded yet, but I'm going thru the process and only my parents, husband, 2 best friends and sister know. That's all that need to know. I'm afraid eveyone will criticize me about it, and especially since I'm not approved yet I don't want eveyone to know and then think I backed out if I don't get approved. It's just a hassle, and I plan on lying and saying I did it all by myself when I do lose the weight lol
  16. Oh my god! I've never been under anesthesia! I'm nervous as hell and now I have something else to worry about!! I enjoyed sleeping with the machine at the sleep study, I slept well but now I hope I won't be denied surgery.
  17. Apparently my insurence has covered everything so far. I'm doing an other study tonight to see which machine I will need
  18. Sorry *its technically called Ambulatory care medical center
  19. Where in san Diego have you gone? I'm currently in the process of being approved thru my insurence to be banded. I have several succes stories in friends with the band, and I'm going to their doctor! Dr Khalil, at the the San Diego gastric banding center. He's an excellent doctor, will sit and talk to you for hours if you need it. My first office visit I was seen by the psychiatrist, dietician, and had a physical. Ive had a sleep apnea test and found out I do have sleep apnea, so I'm being fitted for a machine tonight! Next Friday the 8th I have my upper GI and blood work and ultra sound...it's a Roller coaster of emotions for sure! Im new to this too and had no idea what to expect with all these visits! But they walk you thru them and it's ganna be fine I hope everything works out.
  20. Lol skinny sex! I can't wait! Congrats on your journey!
  21. I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I realize now, after sleeping on my anger, that I think i really do need it! I'm excited to have a good nights sleep and if it will hinder my Banding then I for sure need a machine!! Thanks everyone for your feedback and support!
  22. I heard it does help you sleep better, which I'm looking forward to I guess thanks everybody. I'll see what my results are tommoro!
  23. Thanks for the inspiration! I'm upset mostly because I don't have problems sleeping, I never wake up during the night and didn't even know I had sleep apnea till this test!! I'm praying I will get approval from my insurence, I'm only 5'1 at 261 lbs with a BMI of 52 and now with sleep apnea how could I not be a great banding candidate!?
  24. Very happy for you! And kind of jealous! My insurance requires upper GI, sleep apnea tests, nutritionist, psychiatrist, and physical. It turns out I have sleep apnea and need a machine to sleep at night! My upper GI is scheduled next week with blood work, and after that all my tests will be sent to insurance to (hopefully) get approved for banding!! Your lucky everything is going smoothly! Congrats!!
