I'm glad to hear you're doing well. Let me know what they say after your ultrasound. I hope it is nothing serious. Wow a year?? They just changed their supervised diet requirement from 6 mos to 3 mos. I started the process in April. Thanks for the prayers and I will also be praying for you as well.

Oh I have Medical Mutual Ins and they changed their policy from 6 mos to 3 mos supervised weight loss.

I am a very persistent person so I would call everyday to get a same day appt instead of waiting until my scheduled appt. Then when it went to my ins I called them constantly so I was able to go through all my spots in June it was submitted to ins July 5 and approved this past Monday. I asked for the soonest surgery appt and was told to start my liquids the next day.

Ooh ok, I meant the pre-surgery appt then. I wondered when that would be. Yes, I have completed everything, am approved, and just waiting til Aug 29th (and whenever the pre-surgery appt is). Good luck!!![/quote My pre surgery appt is on the 25th. That appt is usually a couple days before your surgery. Did you request to wait that long for your surgery?

Dr Schauer is my surgeon. My pre surgery appt is Wednesday. Have you seen the nut, psychologist and had the chest X-ray ekg and blood work yet?

Wow mustangsherry that's really early...but it will all be worth it. The Cleveland Clinic won't even give a time until the day before. I'm with you though.. I have done lots of research and know the risks vs the benefits and I know this is the right decision for me. I have MS and my doctor said I will feel alot better after this too.

Hello Everyone! I will be sleeved on July 30th and can't wait I am so excited. I have been reading a lot on this site and found so much useful information but I am wondering about this preop diet. I'm on my third day and have only been drinking the unjury shakes 4-5 times per day and drinking lots of water. These shakes are ok but I'm wondering what everyone else did..

I too will be sleeved July 30th. Are you guys doing the pre op diet? This is my 3rd day of Unjury shakes and water only.

I have MS and was told this surgery often helps people with it feel much better.

Yes I'm sure things will work out well for you with the graduation party. I'm really hoping I will be having my surgery around the same time as you. I'm 253 now and I have to be 246 for them to do the surgery but I know I will lose that doing the 2 week fast.

The Clinic makes you go through testing EKG, chest X-ray, bloodwork in addition to the psych evaluation and nutrition appt and their medical doctor. All those have to clear you before they submit to insurance. I've been cleared all of them but have not met with the surgeon yet. That appt is 6/27. I can't wait.

What part of Parma are you in? I'm at Hauserman and Brookpark. I'm so ready to get this done..

Hello Everyone ..I'm in Cleveland and just completed my 3 month diet and all preop testing. I see the surgeon on 6/27 and then my paperwork will be sent to Medical Mutual for approval. I am really hoping to be sleeved by the end of July. I am worried about hair loss as well. I also have MS so I am a little concerned about how my body will adjust after surgery. I have been reading on this site and it has really given me some good insight. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your journeys. If anyone lives close inbox my I would love to have a buddy that shares this experience.

I was going to have the procedure done at St Vincent but I would have had to pay $350 out of pocket plus the cost of the psych evaluation. Don't have to pay anything at the Clinic.

I just finished all testing and 3 month diet. I live in Parma and will be having my surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

I'm in Cleveland and just starting the process. I met with the Surgeon at St Vincent and have started my 6 month supervised diet that my insurance company wants me to do. This just seems like its going to be forever now that I have made the decision to have the surgery. .
