  1. Maybe it's time to throw the scales out!? I'm apprehensive about tomorrow's weigh in too and it's actually making me cranky and anxious. I don't like these feelings so maybe it's time to stop weighing.
  2. Thank your girls for chiming in! I really appreciate it. I also noticed that I woke up SUPER crabby today. I'm stuffing it all inside and its kindof festering and I feel like I might explode. Darn hormones! I DO need to go for a walk. Then maybe ill feel like taking on all of today's tasks. I really need to poop. I think it's been like 5 days. I'm going to make a green smoothie today, those usually make me feel better about myself and feel cleaner and should get things moving. Lol I know dh isn't the whole problem. I'm also having air of emotions about exercise, the way my body is changing, wether or not I should weigh in weekly or monthly (tomorrow is wi day), these kittens I need to find a home for in a week and I SO wish it was this week but Not because they are bad, just because I feel like I have too much on my plate. Whether or not I should go on antidepressants(common side effect, weight gain), etc. I'm a mess. And I can't eat my emotions, so I'm angry that everyone else can go on like normal, eating. BUT!!! I really do loove my sleeve and I wouldn't have It any other way, so I'm pulling up my big girl panties and figuring this thing out. (Hug)
  3. I think we must have talked a LOT about food, because now that I'm sleeved (4 weeks) we just don't talk much. Also, and this is totally shallow and I'm working on it and praying about it, but: I can't stand to watch him eat. Not that I sit around staring at him, it just seems so constant. Part of it is probably kindof jealousy but mostly I just realize how much he eats when he's just bored or just because. He'll go in for more. And then more. And then dessert. And then dessert again. And I used to eat more than him!! Man. This "diet" really changes things. I don't like these feelings I'm having. And I really want to find new ways to relate to him. And my libido is close to zero. Probably because of the reasons listed above. Words of wisdom? Will this just change with time?
  4. Op, the first few weeks are SO hard! Emotionally and physically. Several times the first couple months I thought I'd never be able I get my required Protein or fluids. How many times I regretted the surgery. Know what though? A friend told me that right around 3 weeks things turn around and they really do!! For me, the purée stage was a big turnaround! Now that I can eat with the family and I'm finally getting more fluids in, I'm a happy camper. I also put on a pair of pants yesterday that used to be tight and they were loose!! Woot! That helps. I really think you'll be like me soon, looking back at your first few days and giggling at yourself. But it is hard whole you're in it.
  5. I am almost 4 weeks out and I still love food. "/ There's an ap called "eat slower" that I use to time My bites. I also use baby utensils to remind me to take smaller bites. I was taking one too many bite until today, I seem to have gotten that under control, taking my time and really evaluating my comfort level between every bite. Sometimes I miss just scarfing down with abandon. But that's just stupid thinking. It's food, fuel, not fun. Although I plan to have so much fun with pizza one day.
  6. I'm amazed at these posts sometimes! I must still be quite a bit swollen or just have a super short tummy because I just cant eat much. 3 weeks 4 days here and today I had 1/2 an egg scrambled, made site I got the pieces w the half piece of American cheese melted in. (Takes me 20 minutes @ a baby bite every 2 minutes) Skipped lunch because I just felt tight. Did have a Protein shake tho. 5-7 bites of cheesy broccoli I feel full enough to trick my head into thinking I ate seconds of all the food the family has. It's pretty awesome. But I'm still sad sometimes at the end of a meal that there is still food in my bowl. I'm happy though. After I'm sad, lol. Because this is what I paid for. Restriction. I sure got it!!!
  7. You look amazing! I had to do a double take, actually. So what kind of workouts do you do? What do you typically eat in a day? I hope you don't mind all the questions, it's just that I love to hear from those who have done this thing!!
  8. It's just blood tests as far as I know and your pcp shouldn't have a problem with ordering those. Where are you in mo? I'm near Columbia and I was sleeved in mx as well.
  9. I think that might be unrealistic for you and you should cut yourself some slack!!!! I have this weight range chart from my weight watchers days and the target for each height jumps 8 lbs. as you age. Hopefully this pic works.
  10. Laura, yet something else a green smoothie is good for.
  11. I. Just went through something very similar and im so sorry you're in the hospital and in pain under the dilauded. (Hug) Keeping a close eye on this.
  12. How does this work? I'm 3.5 weeks out and I really dislike the shape my body is taking on as it loses quickly without exercise! I really want to start a cardio workout (walk at home) but I know from experience that's hat one makes me stop and slam down Water to make it through the second half. I can't do that obviously, so I'm wondering where that leaves me. Am I stuck doing resistance only until I can get my 48oz? I'm getting about 36 oz fluids. I don't like water anymore (I was a chugger), just started tolerating Protein drinks, choke down Gatorade. This is my biggest struggle as far as the sleeve is concerned. Please help, so that I can get my cardio too!?
  13. Minimii, please remind me about your blood clot? Where t was, treatment, etc? We really should talk more. I never had bloody stool.
  14. Pantala I say the same thing. I did this to be healthy and now I just feel like an 80 year old woman, going to the dr. All the time and always having a new ailment. This too shall pass.
  15. Anybody out there? I'm not feeling strong. This is starting to get to me.
  16. On phone. Promise i can spell. Update- 3 days out of the hospital and pain is almost gone. I've added puréed foods and seem to be doing pretty food with that. Laughing cow cheese is a favorite now. Mmmmm. Now for the annoying Woke up this morning looking like quasi modo with one eye swollen almost shut and welts and itchiness everywhere. Got my hospital paper work and t said I call your dr. Called the on calm doc and he said "ER NOW" Oy. We're in the middle of a snow storm and I still decided to drove 40 miles away to the better er who knows all about me. Another blood draw and iv and they aren't sure which me I was allergic to so I'm OFF warfarin and lovenox now and on I believe it's called arixtra. I have an appt tomorrow w Mu pop and I'm going to see of we can't come up with another planof action because my j durance is giving is the runaround about any shots, and its really a headache that I don't want to go into. It's all very confusing to me. So I switched my pcps because I don't care for mine and I have a friend on warfarin who I called to ask to her PCP is. She really liked her dr and I'm anxious to meet him with Mu trusty list of questions and meds/vitamins. I know someone wlli ask so here. Yes, I'd still get the surgery. Unless I die, and then the answer would have to be no.
  17. Mine was pretty uncommon. I had extreme stabbing pain in my abdomen that had me on the floor crying.
  18. Don't wait, go now!!
  19. Very cool to see you!! You've done really well. Working out is actually pretty cathartic. You should try it.
  20. Wait, was that you? Thanks for the message!
