  1. I haven't told my managers/boss at my work yet. I am waiting for the surgery date and then have my dr's fill out the medical leave papers from Human Resources, before I tell them. I am afraid they will do something to stall me from being off of work for the 2 wks. When they see the medical leave papers, they can't do much about it. Im sure I'll pay for it when I get back to work. I just know this cause I always get denied my vacation time every time since 2008. Alot of my co-workers are against this. They say I won't succeed. I am determined to prove them wrong. So I guess it all depends when and how to tell people.
  2. Good Luck. Hope it is easy for you.
  3. I live in Clifton, IL and I have BCBS of IL and will be having my surgery at RMC in Kankakee. Since I work at the hospital my insurance pays way better than if I go to a bairiatric clinic. I have my last visit on the 22nd, hoping for surgery in June.
  4. I haven't been banded either, but I am now finding fault with my husband of 25 yrs. At first he was all for me getting banded, but now he seems to have changed his mind on the idea. I would love for him to do it also with me, and we could go thru this whole new life style together, but instead he keeps saying I don't believe you can do this. I asked him why he thinks this, all I get is a guilt trip. But I am sticking with my decision on this surgery. At least when it comes to "friends" do this to us, we can drop them a lot easier than when you are married to the "friend" who doesn't believe in you. Im not giving up changing my lifestyle and hope you won't either. Good Luck.
  5. I too am working on getting the surgery as soon as possible. This August I will be married for 25 yrs and I wish I looked the same as I did when I got married. Back then I weighted 170, now I my weight is 250. It has been over 26 years since I was down to 145 and that was only because I was eating Nutri System food and did arobics 2 x a day 6 days a week. I will be turning 47 in June and hopefully my surgery will be the first week of June. This would be the best gift I have given myself ever. Good Luck.
