  1. My first weigh in, 254. I was sleeved on 06/12, weighing in on that day at 276.
  2. I was also sleeved on the 12th, I'm down 23 lbs post op.
  3. I was self pay, with Dr Chung in Lake Charles, Louisiana. It cost me $14,000
  4. I'm hoping I'll be able still enjoy the tiniest bit of steak one day too. I've heard so many people on here cannot tolerate beef anymore.
  5. I stayed one night in hospital, went home the next day
  6. I need to remember this on Saturday!!!!
  7. My name is Jill, I am 34 years old and married. I've been married since 10/31/2011 to my wonderful husband Dave. We got married on a cruise ship in new Orleans, it was fabulous! I have a 5 year old son, named Cole. He is truly the love of my life, my reason for being. Dave has three kids, ages 15,16,17. We have them full time. Their mother died about 6 years ago. She had RnY, became a drug addict and overdosed. So, including our three cats; Ortho, Lilly, and Godric we have a full house!!! I have a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. I have been a Probation and Parole Officer with the State of Louisiana for 10 years now. Right before I went out for my surgery I signed papers for my promotion to "Specialist", which just means I supervise violent offenders now instead of drug addicts and thieves. I got sleeved on June 12, 2012 by Dr. Keith Chung in Lake Charles, La. So far I'm doing really good in recovery. I also suffer from a food addiction and plan to take things one day at a time. I've battled my weight since my early 20s. I'm tired of being every ones fat friend. I'm changing my life So far from what I can tell there are a lot of nice and knowledgable people on this forum
  8. I also did the same thing pre-surgery.. Read all the stories about the leaks, PE's, clots etc. I scared myself silly. In the end, I just kept telling myself that the odds are low for complications. I made sure I followed Drs pre op instructions and am now following the post op instructions. Don't let the bad stuff freak you out, there are plenty more good stories
  9. Welcome! I was also sleeved on 06/12.
  10. Went for my first appointment after surgery ( my sleeve was on 6/12). According to their scales I've lost 14lbs since surgery, according to my scales 17lbs lost I also had my drained removed, that felt weird!!! I'm feeling pretty good but I get tired easy. I'm getting about 45-50 oz of fluid in, mostly water. I'm not even sure about the amount of protein I'm getting, I'm not keeping track. I hope everyone is doing ok!!!
  11. I'm paying $14,000. Breakdown is: $4000 for surgeon, $1000 for anesthesiologist, $9000 for hospital
  12. My surgeons office called yesterday to change my date from June 14 to the 12th
  13. My surgeons office called yesterday to change my date to the 12th!
  14. My surgeons office called yesterday, my date has been moved up to June 12 from the 14th
  15. I thought I had posted in some June threads but mine is June 14, Dr. Chung
  16. My surgeon doesn't have restrictions on straws. He states the straw thing is a myth, lol
  17. My surgeon required me to quit. I'm on day 12 of no smoking. It hasn't been easy, and smoking is on my mind a lot. I'm using the patch...and Charms suckers, lol. My husband also quit to support me. My surgeon told me that besides the healing issues, that smoking also makes you prone to stomached ulcers and having ulcers in a stomache the size of a banana is not a good thing.
