  1. Drink some pineapple juice or some canned pineapple. It will help it slide through and digest.
  2. I've been drinking one 6 oz can of pineapple juice daily since week 2-3. I'm almost 5 weeks now. It helps settle my stomach at night and I'm losing quite fast too.
  3. My doctor said I had 'plastic surgery type incisions' and that I could swim in 10 days. But to be safe, 2 weeks.
  4. You need to drink more and get some anti nausea medicine if needed. You should be getting 20-30 oz a day minimum. I was getting 25 and still ended up dehydrated and in the hospital at 8 days post op after I nearly passed out. You need fluids!
  5. My dizziness was hydration induced. Make sure you are drinking enough!
  6. I had nausea the day of surgery and the next day. By the 2nd day, it was much better. Now, 11 days post-op I get nauseated occasionally but the medicine really cuts it out when it hits. I think mine was mostly from anesthesia at first.
  7. Are you used to drinking caffeine? Sounds like caffeine withdrawal. I quit caffeine about a week before my pre-op diet because I didn't want both misery together.
  8. I was sleeved at 8:00 Thursday (yesterday) morning. I still haven't got to drink anything however experience a lot of nausea and dry heaving every time I stand up. Is this normal? I've been walking quite a bit. Also, I have burning in my chest. Kind of heart-burnish. I'm on Pepcid every 12 hours. I feel a little better each hour, but not good yet by any means.
  9. I have my IV and it's almost surgery time! Wish me luck!!
  10. What about a no sugar added/sugar free fudgescicle? Yum!
  11. I'll definitely pray! The only thing that really worked for me was resigning from my job. I work part time now but I understand that's not an option for most people. It killed me to sit still for 8+ hours a day at work. Hang in there....
  12. The only thing that helped me was reducing stress and staying active, as contradicting as that sounds. The chiropractor helped a little too. The prescription meds made me too sick so I had to discontinue them. I'd try to stay away from Aleve since I think you'll have to discontinue that a week or two before surgery?
  13. I am scheduled for surgery next Thursday (Yippee!). I'm trying to wean off caffeine in advance (diet soda) but I have the WORST headache ever. I had a whole soda yesterday. Today I started getting a terrible headache and had a half of a soda. But it's STILL there... any tips? I feel miserable from this stupid headache!
  14. I think standard is 4-6 weeks. You could be cleared sooner though.
  15. My surgeon only requires a 3 day liquid diet. I'll get the details next Wednesday at my nutritional counseling.
  16. I'll be sleeved on June 7th! I have an official date AND insurance approval... Is this real or a dream?
  17. And my mother has lost 20 lbs since September 1st, 2011. And 10 of that was on the pre-op diet. That's an extremely slow loss! I'd much rather be sleeved and forget the fuss and fills!
  18. I was on team lapband until my mother was banded in September. Excess skin is a given for large weight losses. No band for me now!
  19. Thank you ladies! It has NOT been easy, but it will be worth it! I've jumped through many hoops and lost MANY hours of sleep stressing over this for almost a YEAR now (started researching lapband in July 2011 and switched to VSG in September 2011). I'm so ready to move on from the insurance processing!
  20. I called Cigna this morning and was told that my file should have an answer this afternoon. I just called back and was told I'm authorized... aka APPROVED on the first try! I called the surgeon's office and I'm on the list to receive a scheduling call tomorrow! It won't feel real until I'm scheduled and receive the official letter, but I am SO close!!!!!!
  21. Thanks for the heads up! My file was faxed last Wednesday. I called Thursday and they said they hadnt received anything. Then I called Friday and they said they received paperwork in their system Wednesday but no processing yet. I was given the preauthorization dept direct ph number Friday. So I called it yesterday and was told my file was started processing Thursday afternoon. Talk about conflicting information! Lol I was also told on Friday that I needed to wait at least 30 business days for an answer. Then yesterday I was told a nurse could make the decision in 5-7 days from last Thursday! I wish I could get some consistent information!
  22. I have Cigna too. If they want a fight, I'll give them a run for their money, for sure! I'm not going down easy, that's for sure!!! I've wanted this too bad for too long and lost too much sleep over their requirements already!
  23. Congratulations!! Can I ask what company you have?
