Hi, So just got off the phone with my coordinator. She told me that I need to be on nothing but protein shakes, broth, & water and if I absolutely cannot take it.. then, I can eat lettuce, tomato, onion, & stuff in that nature.. but no dressings or meats. She said this is detoxing my body along with preparing my body for surgery so that it doesn't go into shock, & to lose at least 10 pounds to shrink my liver. Denise

Taylee, Yes, I have a facebook. Do you? The coordinator did say they have a Protein drink there for $60. My friend just had a gastric bypass but with the sleeve. I think it's dual something lol. She bought chewable Vitamins from Wal-Mart. I think I'll call my surgeons office tomorrow to verify what exactly she means by a protein diet.

Yay! I'm July 24th too almost there!!

Woohoo! The coordinator just told me to try and stick to a Protein diet and try and lose some weight. A liquid diet the night before and no eating or drinking after midnight yay for us! Have you shopped for your post op stuff?

What time is your surgery set for? Mine is 1200pm. at Fountain Valley, California. Where are you located? Thanks

Hi, I was so excited on getting my sleeve and now that it's finally happening (7/24/12) I am getting so scared. Im scared that I'm not gonna wake up, that Im gonna get a leak or some kind of complications. I have three beautiful kids that I just can't leave behind!! Oh gosh, anyone have similar thoughts or had them before surgery? How Did you make it t through? Thanks

SV2, Hi, Any updates? I am surely set for the 24th I was suppose to get an email today and I haven't. My coordinator is suppose to call me so we can make preop appointments (upper gi and some other stuff). I have to see the surgeon the day before my day. I also need to start a Protein shake diet today. Which I will start Monday Denise

Hi IMSKINNY, It's so confusing when it comes to insurance. I do have a date, July 24th but after talking to my coordinator Tuesday it might change. She has gotten me approved for the bypass and now needs to clear it for the sleeve. I can't get my pre-ops until she has it approved. Idk?? I just want it done already. I hate waiting lol. I am happy that you are approved and didn't have to spend more $$ in Mexico. I was looking into as well but was quite iffy because of different experiences that I had read. Well cheers to us ♡ Denise
