  1. it was bad for sure the abscess kept coming back, I had 4 surgeries in 5 months! They said it must have been spilled on the counter and I leaned on it and it soaked thru my uniform and entered thru my belly button ring injury. My hair came out and I had all the horrible effects too.......lol life has to get better now after all that. And of course the hospital wasnt responsible because there was no way to prove it since the heavy metals of chemo leave no trace in your blood work after 3-5 days and the effects of chemo dont show up that fast. I try not to think of it, but it certainly was an ordeal to go thru. I now wear at least 2 tops and a jacket all the time at work....lol....and my belly button ring injury has healed. take care I need to get back to work thanks again for listening and your input. Karen
  2. thanks for the info, my doc is the one who prescribed it???? I dont know but it seems to be working like a charm right now tho'. stops it in just a few minutes. You are doing great. congrats!! I was banded from sept 08 to Dec 11, exposed to chemo at work and my world went to Hell in a hand basket so to speak, lost my band so I ended up getting the sleeve because of an abscess on the outside of my stomach, they were going to have to remove a portion anyway....so just did it too. I started at 212 and after my band was removed I was back at 155 from being at 115 for 3 yrs, so I am soooo feeling fat again and I hate it, after knowing the way I felt nothing can compare even tho' alot of people think I should be happy at the 150's, they just dont understand........beside the fact that I have NO clothes that fit now...lol take care and good luck Karen
  3. I think you are right, I have been keeping a running total of my carbs and proteins but not writing them down, I am going to do that and see if it makes a difference. thank you for responding and good luck on your journey. My liquids are all pre measured for the day so Im ok on that at least. I have also started taking zantac its helping too, but Im still hungry but there isnt room to eat.....lol I thought the information says they remove that part of your stomach, I think they miss it on me........
  4. I cant actually say I have stalled, I never started.....pre op I lost approx 12 pounds but since then only 2 pounds, I was sleeved in May 2012 also. Im very frustrated. I am doing all the things required and nothing is going down, not the scales or my measurements. I exercise, eat and drink as directed and NO LOSS. I am hungry all the time, and I have heartburn which is new to me, I never had it before the surgery, I have never been nauseaed or vomited, and I chew my food to a pulp......all my labs have come back normal as well as a thyroid panel. I do have a low BMI....compared to most, but Im very short so every ounce shows. Water and protein are not the problem either so I am at a loss mentally not physically..........makes me feel like I wasted my time money hope and went through pain for nothing.
  5. my band was Dr Jayseleen at Forest Park Hospital in Dallas, TX but my sleeve was in Mexico Dr Almanza
  6. I know my clothes arent stretched out.....lol........nothing I have fits anymore, I gave all my larger clothes away so I have to buy new ones!! I went from size 3/4 to a 12....... I drink protein drinks and eat chicken for my daily protein (allergic to fish) and sometimes low fat yoguart, Drinks are crystal lite, water, goal is 64 oz most days I do make it.... I work nights so its harder because then Im up and down all day and dont get enough sleep. I eat unsweet jello and occassional unsweet popcicles, occasional salad with lowfat dressing or none, and low sodium soups. I can only eat small amounts which is expected, but then Im hungry.....catch 22. I dont over eat, never been nauseated or vomited. Heartburn is when Im hungry, and sometimes after I eat, never when lying down tho. Im a nurse so I do alot of walking, but, I also walk a mile daily at 3.5mph extra. My tape measure doesnt show any changes nor does the scale. Maybe its just my slow metabolizm, age, and smaller size, but I would expect something in 2 months. Im just so frustrated.
  7. thank you splatters! congrats to you too, looks like youre doing good!
  8. I know, but when you are at 115 and jump to 155 you would understand that I feel as big as I did at 200..........
  9. I understand that my weight is not that high, but I had the lap band prior to the sleeve which I had to have removed because of an abscess, there was nothing wrong with the band but to keep it from causing problems my Dallas Tx surgeon deemed it necessary to be removed. I started out at over 200 pounds, I instantly started regaining after the removal. I am barely 5 feet tall. I am also 63 yrs old and was banded in 08, was at my goal weight of 115 pounds.
  10. my surgery was may/2012 pre op diet I lost 12 pounds, surgery day weight was 155 and current weight is 153......very frustrating, I follow my diet plan, eat my protein, exercise and I am not loosing......not gaining either tho thankfully. I am hungry all the time, and have alot of heartburn which I never had before. I too did all the blood work and physical with my primary care physician and there is nothing wrong with any of my levels including thyroid panel. I still follow the phases of my diet but see no results. I still wear the same size clothing and my measurements havent changed. My surgery was in Mexico too and I dont have insurance to do studies or follow up procedures........right now I feel as if I went through alot of pain and lost alot of money and hope because my sleeve isnt working at all
