  1. Well I went in for my 3 month post-op. I have lost 34# since the day of surgery. My labs were all excellent. I was told this is on the low side for weight loss. My eating is fine. But was told I needed to exercise to have the weight come off. I know I have been so bad at doing the exercise. But if this is what it takes I will do it. I have lost 49# since starting my journey but the weight they really look at it the day of surgery.
  2. Check out this site for all you coffee and cream drinkers! Calories in Country Buffet - Coffee Creamers, packet
  3. Greek yogurt, 1 Banana, 1/4 blueberries, 1/2 cup skim milk and unjury vanilla powder thrown into the magic bullet. Lots of protein as I was short yesterday trying to get it all in today. s of protein.
  4. I am looking for a creamer? What is one of the better low calorie, high Protein good tasting creamers to go with my decaf coffee that I have learned to like. I like both powders and liquid. I am also wondering before we starting trying to get 70-80 grams of protein in since surgery. Do you think we consumed that amount before surgery?? Three months out. 29# since day of surgery.
  5. I am also a fan of unjury. I mix mine with water too save on calories. Chocolate is my favorite. I usually freeze this a bit to make a bit of a slushy. I actually look forward to my unjury shake.
  6. Just wondering is the weight loss on the tickers from surgery date or from pre-op start date? THanks
  7. THis was a very interesting article. THanks so much for directing us there.
  8. Thanks everyone. I probably had a week setback doing the trail mix thing. NEVER AGAIN>
  9. I am two months post op. Doing great until today. Hubby purchased some trail mix with raisins, M&M's and an assortment of nuts. Well I have gotten into them I must have ate 2-3 cups before I said STOP and dumped the whole container down the toilet. Why would someone do this after going thur the surgery and two months of behaving. I did eat this morning. Had Ham and a protein shake. THen it began had 1/c cup special K withskim milk then that trail mix. I hope I get sick so I never do this again!! So the trail mix has been drowned and I admit it I did IT!!
  10. How far out are you? Iam 2 months. Hair falling out yes. So you count the protein and the calories and the protein correct? What is a typical day of eating for you? I go up and down sometimes more calories or sometimes more carbs. If they are good carbs like in fruit do you limit fruit or just bad carbs??
  11. Do you think it is better to watch your Carbs or your calories? I watch my protein very close. But it would just be easier to watch protein then carbs OR calories. WHat does everyone do??
  12. I just spoke with a friend who has had the surgery. She says she follows weight watchers plan basic program. She counts the points and sticks to 24 per day, She exercises 30 per day. Does any one follow weight watchers to stay on track. I am 5 week out and I can eat anything now,
  13. I am also a little over one month out. I eat most of my protein now. But unjury protein was my favorite.
  14. I was wondering does the hungry go away right away or does this hormone need time to get out of your body?
  15. What do most of you keep track of carbs or calories. I know Atkins is all about carb counting. Is this what is most important to keep track of?????
  16. My surgeon started me on a medication called Ursodiol at my one week check. THis is what the insert stated in relation to rapid weight loss. Ursodiol is used to dissolve gallstones in patients who do not want surgery or cannot have surgery to remove gallstones. Ursodiol is also used to prevent the formation of gallstones in overweight patients who are losing weight very quickly. Ursodiol is a bile acid, a substance naturally produced by the body that is stored in the gallbladder. It works by decreasing the production of cholesterol and by dissolving the cholesterol in bile so that it cannot form stones. I started on it as I do not want a gallbladder surgery, I have never had gallbladder problems so I ask why should I take this. He stated that with rapid weight loss gallstones are quite common.
  17. I also had mine done on 07/28/09. I appreciate you comments. Tonite I had 3 oz of lean sirloin steak and 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese. I feel fine this is my first time with beef. I chewed and chewed and I feel satisified. I was 213 on surgery day. Today I weigh around 197. So it has been slow for me too.
  18. Thank you for sharing the chart this was very interesting.
  19. I am also three and 1/2 weeks out. I find that I become hungry soon after eating. I feel like I am grazing on too small amounts. Maybe I need to eat more just three times per day. I try to drink water so the feeling will go away. I keep wonering if my sleeve is too big or they forgot to remove the hunger gland.
  20. I purchased a camelbak steel insulated drinking container. It is the greatest thing. I keep it with me all the time. It has a large mouth top that you can put ice in. I even take it to bed with me. THe ice stays all nite long and keeps the water fresh all the time. It was a bit pricey but with the sip sip sip drink drink thing it has been a life saver to have this ice cold water at all times.
  21. I had a melt down last nite. I had purchased some date filled cookies for company that had been over. It was late in the evening I was cleaning up and I ATE A DATE COOKIE!!!! It is the first time since the beginning of my journey that I did something like this. I had a banana then the cookie! I was waiting to get sick and nothing happened. I wish I would of gotten sick for a punishment.
  22. Has anyone tried sugar free candy just to have something to suck on when your mouth gets tired of water?
  23. I am just a little over three weeks out. I am eating solid foods but chew chew chew. I still have a protein drink if I am low on protein. I have been doing fine. But all surgeon are different with the diets. Mine said at 3 weeks to try and add one new food a day and seee how thing go.
  24. I had a 1/2 of a large chicken breast for dinner last nite 230 calories. Lots of protein but the calories sure add up fast even if it is healthy. Any meat ideas out there that are not so high in calories?
  25. Maybe I should eat till I feel it so I know that it is working? That would be silly but I really want to know.
