  5. Hello Molinamomma, Yes, I do attend the monthly seminar meeting at SHH but it is geared mostly toward gastric by pass. The meeting in December is potluck. Everyone brings a dish and there will be a door prize given away. Also a protein rep., with Max Muscle (?). I do not know if I will be able to make the one in December. If anyone is interested in having a meet and greet anywhere in the Panhandle area let me know and I will gather up all the lapbanders I know in this area. Maybe in January we can meet at Cracker Barrell or some rest. You may email me at vanceemilton@bellsouth.net
  6. Hello, My name is Patricia Vance and I live in Navarre, FL. and Dr. Jeffrey Lord is my doctor. It would be great if all the Panhandle banders could get together and meet since there is no seminars for banders in this area. Everyone is welcome to email me at vanceemilton@bellsouth.net. I would really like to meet everyone in this area.
  7. Hello Everyone, I attended the meeting in Dallas and I really enjoyed myself and wanted to say Thank you to everyone that made me feel welcome and a extra thanks to Cher for putting the conference together. I only attended the Saturday conference and the friday night meet and greet. I am sorry I did not write everyones email addresses down so I would have known who I meet at the conference. Also Cher PLEASE send the the recipe for the sugar free chocolate dessert that we had on Saturday afternoon. It was great.

  9. Hello, My name is Patricia and I am 48 years old, I have a great marriage of 27 years, I have two wonderful children, Gina age 26 and Wayne age 22. I live in Navarre, FL. I have been over FLUFFY all my life and I come from a FLUFFY family. I had lapband surgery on June 28th by Dr. Jeffrey Lord. I look forward to talking to all the Super Sized Bandster and have a couple of questions. (1) Do super-size bandsters lose more weight per week with the lapband since we have more to lose or is it the same? (2) Recommendations for exercize? (3) Anyone have surgery on 7/28/2007? Thanks for your time, Pattie
  10. Hello my name is Patricia Vance and I had lapband surgery June 28, 2007. Please add my name to the calendar.
  11. My name is Pattie and Yes my doctor prefered for me to have the By pass surgery. I also am self pay and the Lapband was $19,000 and the by pass surgery was $7,000 more. I had my surgery on June 28th and I received a handbook from my doctor and 80% of pertains to By pass. If you have not had your surgery yet go to a book store and ask for books on Lapband.
  12. Don't be so hard on yourself, remember beauty comes from the heart. Also they say that the TV adds at least 10lbs to your body. Cheer up!!
  13. I purcased a medical alert bracelet today from www.bodyilluminations.com and when my order was received the owner Hollie had a few questions about my order and I called her at (954)525-6995 and she was very helpful and saved me money from my original order. The bands are interchangeable and I put Gastric Lapband No Tube without Scope. Check out the website she has alot to chose from. I choose the double stand medical alert bracelet with a charm.
  14. Hello Everyone, I hope to be joining the club soon. My doctor wants me to have the By Pass but I am going with the Lapband. I am 48 years old. I have been fluffy all my life. I was on the slimfast diet and lost 60 lbs but got sick and had to be put on steriods so I gained all my weight back. Current weight is 328. I have had inital consult, blood test, Chest Xray, EKG, and had the first visit with the Nutri. I am self pay and it will cost me $18,000. I can't wait until it is my turn.
  15. Hello Outdoorgrl, I am from Pensacola, FL and I know that Dr. Jeffrey Lord will not do fills if you go to Mexico. You may check with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I can't wait unitl I have to worry about a fill. I have not been banded yet. I go for my first visit on March 17th.
  16. Hello Sissy, Please keep in touch with me and let me know which doctor you decided to go with. Dr. Lord's office moved my appointment up to March 17th. I was told that Dr. Lord prefers to do Gastric By Pass surgery instead of the band.
  17. Hello Guys, My name is Patricia and I am in the group of people who are TOO FLUFFY. I hope to begin my journey on March 27th the day I see Dr. Lord to see if I can get a Lapband. I was 327lbs went on Slimfast lost 60lbs and gained it back. I also am glad you started this thread. I will need everyone to help me thru this journey so everyone stay around.
  18. Best of luck and it is your decision, you know your body. If you want to email me I will talk anytime you want. BUT think long and hard before taking and make sure that is what you want.
  19. Hello everyone, I am not banded yet, I am self pay $19,000, I had a hysterectomy at age 25 but prior to the surgery my PCP clipped the nerves or did a nerve block in my stomach so I would not have to have hysterectomy in high school. I am praying that does not keep me from being able to have the band put in. My feeling is to leave the band in because if you are having as much problems as I did you will eventually have the have the surgery anyway. Best of luck with your band.
  20. I am in Navarre, FL and I have my PCP has sent me to Dr. Jeffrey Lord in Pensacola, FL at Scared Heart Hospital
