  2. Days 1-7 of the pre-op diet: -2 protein shakes (each must have over 15gm of protein and under 200 calories) -1 meal that is under 300 cal, 15 carbs and over 15 gm of protein. They gave me a very short list of Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones meals that meet this profile. -At least 64 oz of water per day. -All of the sugar free jello, popsicles and broth that I want and Powerade Zero. Days 8-13 pre-op: -4 protein shakes (each must have over 15gm of protein and under 200 calories) -At least 64 oz of water per day. -All of the sugar free jello, popsicles and broth that I want and Powerade Zero. Day 14 (day before surgery) Clear liquids only, nothing after midnight.

  6. The best high protein shake I have found by far is Lean Body on the Go Bananas and Cream- no aftertaste at all.
  7. This is a great website to check points value of tons of restaurants: exercise4weightloss.com. I always try to pre plan my restaurant meals. Sometimes I print it out and take it with me to the restaurant.
  8. I found out Friday that May 14th is my surgery date too! I did the shopping thing too this weekend. I went back to Weight Watchers 4 weeks ago because I really have a hard time the first two weeks of a diet. I call it my detox. I am on the first day of the pre-op diet and this will take some getting used to. Remember we are all here to support you for the "mental game."

  10. Hello fellow May Bandsters! Just found out today that my surgery is May 14th! Pre-op diet starts on Monday April 30th. Excited now!!

  13. The swelling is causing compression on the nerve endings, causing the numbness. When the swelling goes away, then numbness should too. I fit does not, then I would ask the doctor about it.

  19. Great idea about the Progresso soups. I have also read that you can make your own with lots of vegetables and some chicken bullion and drain that too.
  20. Would you share some of the things you didn't think of post-op and what things did you do to help you feel organized afterwards?

  24. Texas Hospital bans healthcare workers with BMI over 35 http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/04/05/eeoc-texas-hospital-that-bars-obese-workers-not-necessarily-discriminatory/ What do you guys think? I know plenty of great obese nurses as well as plenty of terrible skinny ones. I'm sure you do too.
  25. When is the soonest you could have gone back to work? I have a desk job- not physicaly demanding at all, but I have to go back as soon as I possibly can.
