hi everyone!! I had my first appointment with my surgeon yesterday and since I already had all of my other appiontments done as well as the lab work I was set up with a surgery date of Nov 6th - as long as insurance doesnt mess with anything!!! I cant believe it will happen so soon but hey I will take what I can get!! anyone else from NJ here?

msmary Im 29 from nj single no kids - im a little more boring then the lively ladies and gentlemen here. I should here about my insurance by the week of the 29th. I just had my first consult with the surgeon yesterday so they will get my file together and submit all the paperwork no later then monday. but they schedule a date with the mind set that insurance will give an approval. I dont have any reason to believe i will be denied but I am still a little worried. I am even more worried that the surgery is in LESS THEN 3 WEEKS!! now tell us all about yourself!!

I live next door to an apartment buidling and there isnt much room in between my house and the building. the LOVELY peopel in the apartment right outside of my living room window have a puppy that when they go out they lock in the bathroom and the thing does nothing but yap the entire time. of course the bathroom window is right near the living room window so that all I hear all night. but what is even better is when the dog is not barking all the couple does is argue!!!! Now i dont have a problem with dogs - the women downstairs from us has 2 and the neighbors on the other side also have 2 and they only bark when they see someone they dont know or something like that.

hi i am not sure how far out of NY you would want to travel but the nutritionist i saw for my consult was very nice and works with many weight loss surgery patients. her name is donna yannacone and she is located in clifton NJ phone is 973-773-8020. i plan on going back to her after i have my band.

cutiepie i just wanted to give you an update - i went for my consult with DR Bertha yesterday and I was very pleased with him and the entire office staff. I had all of my test done and brought all of my copies with me so that made things so much easier. after speaking with the doctor I went and spoke with Carla - one of the girls that handles the insurance and surgery scheduling - and she set me up for surgery on Nov 6th!!!! I almost fell off my chair when she said the date because it is so soon but why wait any longer?? I still have to wait for my insurance approval but they will take care of all of that and I was told I should have an answer by the week of the 29th. Next week I go to the pre-op class which is 3 hours and I assume they go over everything needed. have you made an appointment with the office yet?

GASP!!!! I went to my surgeon consult today and I got a surgery date of Nov 6th :faint: I am speechless that it is so soon I think my face must have fell off when they told me!!! :omg: of course this is all pending insurance approval but if all goes when I will be banded in LESS THEN 3 WEEKS!!! I was a little sad because I was hoping to have it done on Nov 27th when my best friend is in the country for a few days but the surgeon is operating out of a hospital that I dont want to go to that day so I just stuck with the 6th. WOOHOO!!!!!!!! :whoo:

how is everyone doing today? sorry to hear about all the belly issues going on I hope that stays FAR away from me. I started drinking slim fast for breakfast this week and I am waiting for my belly to rebel against it!!! UGH I was having a good morning until I called my PCP's office to try and get the results for the one last blood test that I need for my surgeon. when I called yesterday I was told the person who normally handles that was out and they didnt see it in my file so I should call back today around 9. so I just went outside to call and then women now tells me that they don't get the results until later this afternoon WELL THEN WHY DID SHE TELL ME TO CALL THIS MORNING!?!?!?! I have my consult with the surgeon at 12 today and now I am still missing stuff that I worked so hard to get done before hand. I know I am over reacting but I have waited so long for this consult that I wanted to be able to give them EVERYTHING to submit to the insurance so I can know soon whether or not I will be approved or if there are more hoops to jump through. Im a big girl I dont do jumping very well especially through hoops :-) have a great day all!!!!!!

we also have a candy dish are out front desk at work and since I have to pass it all day everyday to go to the kitchen - where there is also a vending machine!! - or the bathroom it is very hard to stay away. Im not banded but I am hoping to be soon so I know I need to work on my eating habits. I recently starting bringing fruit to work with me and I have that as a morning snack and afternoon snack and so far it has kept me away from the candy and cookies at work now if I can only have that same success at home!!!!

no problem if youre still looking to research the procedure or doctors check out the seminar help by dr bertha and dr abkin. that was the third one i went to and i thought i was going to be VERY bored but it was fun and they has lots of great info on the band - both previous seminars i went to had more focus on gastric bypass.

joyce I am not banded yet but I have my consult with Dr. Bertha on Oct 17th. his was the 3rd seminar I went to and I felt he - as well as his entire office - was the best that I have talked to. his office is in Florham Park but he operates out of St Clares or Morristown which are further then the other hopsitals but I didnt want to choose one of the other doctors because they operated at a closer hospital.

joyce have you already picked a doctor? I am in your area of NJ and researched a few doctors so if you need any help just ask!!

YAY!!!!!!! how long did it take to get your approval?? what doctor are you using? Im in NJ and also have BC/BS of NJ and I go for my consult with the surgeon this coming wednesday and I hope to submit my paper work and I dont know how long the wait will be.

kat glad to hear that you got some names to work with!! thats a step in the right direction!

mandy I am not in poland but my best friend is so thats why I didnt have anyone to talk to when I need a lift or to just rant. I do get to talk to her during the day but nothing good ever happens during the day its always at night after work that all hell breaks lose and I need a buddy around do talk to. thats why I wind up leaving silly little rants on here!!!

oh man am I sick to my stomach!! :cry not only did I eat a 1/2 kilo burrito - I dont even want to know how much that equals in pounds - but BEFORE that I was baking chocolate chip cookies and being the true fatty that I am of course I ate some of the raw cookie dough and THEN of course I ate 2 cookies or maybe one. I honestly cant remember how many I had but definitely not more then 2 :omg: but anyway now I am sick to my stomach and I have only myself to blame :think I thought baking the cookies would keep me from the snacking that I have been having trouble with this week. I went to the nutritionist the other day and she suggested some things for me to try and I vowed that I would but - there is always a but - I have had the past few nights off of my second job so I have been home on the couch and having a hard time fighting the urge to eat the snacks. so everyone at my first job has been asking me to make cookies - they are the best - so I figured I would keep myself busy and the snacks out of my mouth...well dang nab it that didnt work!!! :cry sorry for the rant...again!!! seeing as it is 3:30am in Poland I dont have anyone to talk to when I am feeling down and sometimes it helps to just write it and get it out of my system. feel free to just ignore my rants as most of it is just babble :cool:

patty sorry to hear about your being denied for unemployment. can you appeal the denial? I know here in NJ they mostly give it to you eventurally even if you are fired they say you cant collect but in reality they just make you wait 5 weeks until you can actually collect - I guess the feel like in that five weeks you will give up and find a job.

UGH I am soooo nervous...I finished or I think I finished all of my requirments so that I can get approved for the band. I did my nutritionist consult and one last blood test that I didnt have done this week and I have my first consult with the surgeon on Oct 17th and I am sooooo worried. I dont want to get my hopes up but I really hope that I have everything done that I need so that the paperwork can be submitted when I have my visit and I can then I just have to wait for the lovely insurance company to approve :-) or deny :-( me. I would really like to have my surgery at the end of Nov when my best friend will be home from Poland for a couple of days and it would be GREAT to have her support - so far really only my mom is aware of exactly where I stand with the surgery and while she supports me its not the same as someone that is in the same boat as you are supporting you. I dont see why I would get denied but hey you never know. so until then I will just sit back NOT patiently and twiddle my thumbs. well that is my little rant for the day as I take a mini break from that piles of work papers on my desk.
