  1. Tick tock ... I will be getting on a plane in less than 8 hours. Ohh it's getting real. No nerves just excitement. I must say that the bowel prep sucked.
  2. Pre-op diet has been a little tough. Even more so because I leave tomorrow for Mexico and I have been doing my bowel prep. WARNING GROSS... Who knew you could poo so much when all I have had to eat is jello. I had lost almost 10 pounds when I weighed in Tuesday morning. I am sure when I get up in 5 hours I will have lost more. That is if I get to fall asleep. I keep getting up to go to the bathroom. It is worth it.. it is worth it!
  3. May 10th is so close I can taste it... well actually all I taste is jello! Haha. I am very excited. I have not packed a thing I am hoping to get all that done tomorrow. Wednesday I have a BLS class early in the morning and then the flight to San Diego to meet Omar for the drive to Tijuana. I will have surgery on Thursday. I will post info when I can! Jenn
  4. May 10th... OMG! Thursday is almost here. I leave May 9th so that day will just fly by (I hope). The liquid diet has been tough. My 2 little nieces don't understand why aunt Jenny can't eat food. Too cute.
  5. Allmyjoy... where are you having ur surgery?
  6. People are kidnapped and killed in America. Medical tourism is how many of these doctors, nurses and hospitals thrive. They need word if mouth and they need it to be positive word of mouth or they are out of business. Positive and safe experiences are something they work hard to provide us "rich gringos" (lol). As with any place new that you travel to, you need to be aware of your surroundings. Heck, I don't like to walk anywhere by myself in my city after dark... so obviously I wouldn't do that in some unknown country. I am headed to Tijuana,Mexico for my surgery in a few days and of course my family was more concerned with the location of my surgery. That is until I educated them. Ignorance is NOT bliss!
  7. Hey everyone. Jenn from Northwest Indiana and my surgery is May 10th and I am uber excited. I love all the support that is out there!
  8. Cinniwalk How are you doing? I hope that you're recovering quickly!
  9. I couldn't stop laughing at the part about pooping in the operating room, on the surgical table. Haha, anyone else gonna have a nightmare tonight that it happens to them?
  10. I cheated... and now I am sticking to my liquid diet.
  11. May 10th for me in Tijuana Mexico with Dr Garcia. I am so excited. My pre-op diet is going OK. I did cheat and now I decided to do a liquid diet from now until my surgery. My Doctor ordered diet is w protein shakes a day with a salad at dinner. But I want to be sure that my slip up won't be detrimental to my surgery. I have lost 4.6 pounds from my highest weight ( which was reached about 2 weeks ago). I am thankful for finding this blog site. It really has helped a lot. Even though I am a nurse, I still like to hear first hand information. I'll be sure to keep people informed of my experience if anyone is interested. I wish nothing but health and happiness to all the current losers and all future losers! Jenn Northwest Indiana
