They make butt cheek inserts-I'm dead serious! There was a gal on here a while ago who showed her pic without butt pads and then with. They made quite the difference. Maybe look on amazon.
  2. I was reading on his website and it says they're still trying to get it recognized by insurance companies and everything. And yah, I got a weird vibe from him too. I mean really, removing someone's staples in front of a whole group of people. Doesn't seem very professional to me.
  3. So, I was on youtube looking through videos because I'm feeling sorry for myself and my progress (I'm about 4 weeks out), and I see a video by a Dr. Rutledge. The video was about failed lapband patients who became mini gastric bypass patients. I was bamboozled so I googled it. Apparently, they kind of make a mini sleeve that bypasses a part of the intestine. Here is a link to a video about it. Has anyone else heard of it before? Am I just that out of the loop?
  4. Size just all depends on the person. We all vary soooo much. I know a girl who is 5 pounds from being obese and wears a size 0. Crazy (and sickening) huh? She also works out like crazy and is super fit. My mom also weighs 170 and is able to wear a 12, while my aunt weighs the same but wears an 18. Body shape and genetics all play a part as well as your physical fitness. I started off at 260 and wore an 18/xl.
  5. I am on full liquids as well, at least for another week. I'm sure it gets better!! It has too! I have been CRAZY with hormones the last couple of days. My husband is such a trooper. I have not been nice to him at all and he's still here. I started Protein shakes today and they are horrible. Luckily for me I am able to take fairly big drinks without any pain, so I can get them down quick. I have also been having the crazy diarrhea. I keep telling myself liquid in, liquid out. I hope it does get better for you. Remember, you're on a journey, enjoy the ride
  6. I had my surgery last Tuesday and mine are still holding strong. Even the one right under my bra (leave it to a man to put an incision right there!).
  7. Doing good!!! Down about 15 pounds and was advanced to full liquids today. I had my first post surgery Protein shake today as well. It was good. It was chocolate mint. I mixes it with milk and got full after like 2 sips, so it took me a few hours to drink. Today is also the first day I've gone without any pain meds. I'm still a little sore, but it's tolerable. 99% of the gas is gone too, so no more shoulder pain. Yay!!! I can sleep in bed again lol. How is everyone else?
  8. Yay!!! He did an awesome job!!
  9. I tried to lay in bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was in excoriating pain. My shoulders hurt so stinking bad. I will be very happy when the gas pain is all gone.
  10. Hey there!! I just got discharged yesterday too. I have been carrying around a tiny cup and sipping all day! I just took some pain meds which in itself is a chore. It takes me about 15 minutes to get all of it down. I had maybe 2 ounces of chicken broth for lunch too. I haven't had any room for Jello or anything else. Have not lost a single pound yet, but I'm still pretty swollen from all the iv liquids. Are you guys able to lay flat? Last night I had to sleep in the chair because it hurts so bad to be flat.
  11. Yay!!!! Good luck! I just checked in myself. I'm feeling the exact same way you are. I had a crazy hard time getting to sleep last night. I wish you a quick recovery!!! Be happy. This is a new beginning!!
  12. Meeeee!!!!!!! I'm super excited! The thing I'm most worried about is my kids ( I have 3. Ages 4,2,and 8 months) I haven't been apart from my youngest for more than a couple of hours and I am going to be away from them for 2 nights. I spent today stocking up on Jello, broth and Protein powder. I also made sure to get the Vitamins that taste like candy And oh, Iowa here!
  13. 300poundsdown- this may sound silly, but I didn't even think about being able to wear baggy clothes once I lose weight. My family has put so much emphasis on wearing form fitting clothes that I forgot that I can still be me and wear what I'm comfortable in. Thank you for the reminder
  14. I would think u can ask for some while you are in the hospital, if not though I'm pretty sure you can buy them at any drug store. I know I've bought them at wal mart before. They are fairly pricey though.
  15. My Dr. made me sign a "contract" saying that I promise to wear my compression stockings/TED hose for 7 days following surgery.
  16. Thank you Danyelleb! It's nice to know I'm not completely crazy lol. Oh, and u look great!!
  17. So, I was reading a post about a gal's biggest fear, which got me thinking about my biggest fear. At this point I think my biggest fear is being thin. I have ALWAYS been a big girl, my first diet was age 10 when my mom took me to weight watchers. As an adult I take comfort in big sweatshirts and oversized sweatpants. I don't know know how to (as stupid as it sounds) to wear shorts or skirts or tank tops. I am use to hearing things like " oh, you have such a pretty face," and "you are so lively for a big girl ( thanks grandma!)." How am I going to deal with genuine complements? Am I the only one who has these types of feelings/ thoughts? I guess I just need some comfort in knowing that I'm not alone.
  18. Iowa here! I am from the Des Moines area as well. Did anyone use Dr.Smolik?
  19. Thanks for the info! I have to go to my son Halloween party right after, so I hope I'm not to sleepy
  20. I am right there with you!!! Alcohol and all. My surgery date is the 13th, so I start my pre op diet on Tuesday. I didn't realize it until just the other day, it was 2 or 3 days after I got my surgery date. I am hoping that I am able to get it under control and calm down. Good luck! I can't wait to see u on the losers bench
