My doctor put me on a two week liquid diet, which consist of: Breakfast : 1 ensure with high protein Lunch: 1 ensure with high protein Supper: 1 ensure with high protein I also can have sugar free popiscles, sugar free jello, crystal light, and beverage that is sugar free and has no fizz to it.

What is your pre op diet? Share what your doctor is having you do before surgery.

Lose_it It's just a group for all of us to talk and plan goals maybe differnt things for us to do and help each other with. It is still thru lapbandtalk. Instead of going under forums you would just go under groups. I went thru the May bandsters and got every ones surgery dates and I thought I would start off with listing every one according to surgery date so we would know who's off to surgery. So we could wish them luck and keep a eye out for them after surgery. Just things like that and what ever any one else might have in mind.

Hey candtwalker welcome! I can't believe how many people are not on a liquid diet before the surgery. But I see you are on a 2 week liquid afterwards. I will only be on a liquid diet for the day of and the day after surgery. Then I get to move on to cream a wheat, pudding, yogurt and soup. And a course all of them are fat free and sugar free. But yaaa! Food! I really want meat right now but that is several weeks a way for me. I can make it, I know I can!

I have been drinking my high protein shakes now since April 18. I only have a few days left befor surgery. I have vanilla and chocolate and I didn't think they were to bad. The worse part was the smell and that was due to high protein. But at least it is almost over. I only have to wednesday! Than I have two days of juice and water and than we get to introduce me to cream soups, pudding and yogurts for 15 days. Oh I can't wait to have meat again! Could some one please tell me how long before meat gets introduced back into our diets?

I will be following you by a couple days. I go in on Wednesday May 2. Ya! I can't wait! At least this moment next time I post I'll be scared to death! ha ha

I also strongly agree with Chantix. I think this is a miracle pill. I quit 12 weeks ago last Tuesday and It has really worked for me and my husband. Chantix really made it very easy to quit and I have tried on several occasions before. But chantix really kicked the nicotine in the butt for me.

Ok I have to agree with yelorz we all look beautiful with are close ups of our faces showing only. How about the weekend before our surgery we post a front, back and side view picture of our selves? I guess that means I better get with it since my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday May 2. Be on the look out. I will post when I get my pictures posted. This is some thing I want to do on a monthly basis so I can see the difference any way. I also plan on taking measurements this weekend also.

I can't wait to hear about your one year weight loss. When you give us your total weight loss you will have to share some of the ups and downs that you went thru.

I was planning on a week until I seen my surgeon on Wednesday and she told me that she will not release any one any sooner than 2 weeks . And than she said that depends how well she thinks the patient is doing. What a bummer, I love working :wub: and I probably sit at a desk 6 hours out of 8. Now I have to sit at home for 2 weeks, I'm going to go crazy and you all are going to be sick of me.

I've really been surprised that I have not really been hungry on my liquid diet. I have been feeling satisfied. And don't worry about your grandpa coming you will be just fine. My very first weekend on my liquid diet we had game night at our home and we ordered pizza and I didn't have one little morsel of it. I was very proud of my self but I have it in my mind that I want the weight off more than I want that Pizza. So don't worry you will be fine. And if you start to have doubts, we are here to help you!

I try to drink 3 a day but sometimes like you i'm full with just the two a day. But I'm also drinking crystal light thru out the day and I have a couple cups of broth and a 1/2 c. of sugar free Jello a day also.

The May bloomers are popping up all over the place. Keep on popping and blooming! Ok am I the only one that has a dr. that is requesting a liquid diet for two weeks before surgery?

I think you should give your Dr. a call. First did you stop getting your band filled? how long has it been since you seen your dr. last. Your Dr. still might be able to help you with your band, give him/her a call and give it a chance.

I love seeing so many May banders! I have 6 days to go! I told my Dr. yesterday I was scared and excited at the same time. She said that it is pretty normal feeling. I think we all have dieted so many times and failed that we have it some where in the back of our head that we just will never win. But none of us have had this great tool to help us before. And I love to let you all know that We our all winners because we have choose to try again and this time we will succeed. Also I don't think I have ever had so many buddies to help me thru it as I have now with all of you!

Hey Michele39 sorry I have not been on lately. Well did you start your liquid diet yet? I started mine on April 18th. I also had all my pre surgery test done on April 18th also. The liquid diet has not been to bad for me. How about you ?how is your liquid diet been going?

Take all of your pills in with you the next time you see your doctor. He or she will be able to help you with this. Say I'm schedule to go in next week to talk with my dr and was told to bring all medications so the doctor can go over them with me.

Bel12 I think alot has to do with your surgeon and insurance. My surgeon makes every one go on a 6 month diet before even submitting the insurance papers. So I guess you just need to check with your surgeon.

i'm going to have my lapband on May 2nd @ 7:15 am. I'm so excited I can't wai!. I went to my seminar back in Oct, 2011. I first had to get permission from my gastroenterology Dr due to issues 5 years ago. Got the approval from him and than had 6 months with my family Dr. for weigh ins. Finally got to meet with my surgeon. Sent paper work off to insurance and was told it would take about 4 weeks to hear from them. And apparently they knew how anixous I was and sent the approval letter to me in 4 days. I was so excited you would have thought I had the surgery done. So now I get to start my liquid diet next wednesday April 18 also will do my pre op testing. Than I will meet the following week with my surgeon again and than off to surgery on may 2nd. yahoo! I can't wait!
