  1. Finally got my initial Dr appointment with the surgeon. April 28th. Hoping to have sleeve in May. I'm self pay so I'm hoping it will go fast. They told me I would have a three hour appointment with the psychologist. Has anyone else had an appointment that long? $1000!!! Just wondering what all we will talk about for that long?
  2. I'm glad ya'll feel the same as I do about this. I have been apprehensive about telling people. Right now, a good friend, my husband and my son are the only ones that know. I don't have a date yet, but I should not feel obligated to tell anyone. This is for me and not for anyone else to judge!????
  3. I found the isopure at Walmart. Be sure to stop often during your travel home and walk. You have an increase risk of blood clots after surgery, and sitting for long periods is not good. Good luck!!
  4. Great blog!! Thanks for the encouragement!! I am hoping to have the money soon to do this!! But still very nervous. Thank again!!
  5. I,agree that it does seem like the doctors in Mexico are more qualified than the one's in the U.S. I am still trying to research are decide where I want to go. My husband will not fly, and I really want him with me, so the west coast people are out. I am looking at the doctored in Memphis, Dr.Alvarez, and Dr. Pinson in Tupelo,Ms. I feel like this is a very important decision not to take lightly. I have cared for patients who had the gastric bypass, and there were some real horror stories. I do feel good about my decision to have the sleeve, but just who?
  6. My insurance will not pay either. I don't know what I am going to do either. I get so frustrated trying to buy clothes and I feel I just can't give up. With a child in college, it just seems impossible to pay for this on my own. I will just keep praying for an answer.
  7. I'm looking at my options for having the VGS. The cost in Mexico is just much cheaper, but I still just don't know. I am going to have to pay for this on my own, but the thought of traveling so far really bothers me. I'm afraid the trip home is going to just be to much. Did you have any trouble? I have already spoke with a surgeon close to home, but the cost is about $7000 more. Just don't know?
