  1. I truly understand when you said "If I had will power, I wouldn't need the band " For me it is mindset change. I didn't go through all this HELL of having Lapband surgery for nothing. That is what give me the will power and motivation that I need. Also, all the compliments on how good I look is a great motivator. My husband asked me if I am doing so well without restriction, why did I get the band in the first place? My response was that I know that my "will power" won't last forever and I need the extra help. But until the restriction kicks in, I got to work hard every day to stay motivated. Right now you are in the healing phase. Please have patience. It is not one of my strong points either.
  2. Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks post op. I have 4cc's in a 9cc band. I still don't have any restriction yet. Just will power. My surgeon said it may take months before I get some restriction. Please don't be discouraged. Remember that the band is just a tool and we still got to work hard to lose the weight.

  5. I am now able to walk 2 miles without passing out. It took me 38 minutes with the average speed of 3.3. My goal is to walk 2 miles in 30 minutes.
  6. I can most definely feel a big difference in my knees. In Oct, I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus and scope out arthritis. 5 months later and my knee was still bothering me! I had to take on step at a time. Than one day, I was downstairs doing laundry. I ranned back up the stairs with no pain at all. I didn't realized that until I reached the top of the steps. I am 43lbs down and can now walk 2 miles a day without pain.
  7. Keep me posted

  10. Yesterday, I was able to wear a dress that I HAVE NOT been able to wear in years. I brought the dress in 2009 as an incentive to lose weight. I forgot all about it until yesterday. I was in my closest looking for a dress to wear to church when out of the blue I remember the dress that was packed away in the basement. It felt soooooooo good to finally be able to wear it. But the best victory is that I finally did something about losing weight and being successful. Before being banded, I wore 2X dresses and tops and size 24 in bottoms. Now, I can wear size large in dresses and tops and 18-20 in bottoms. I am so excited.
