Hi how are you. I am a mother of 2 (15 and 10) and have a husband (my biggest kid of all). I am having surgery on 09/17/2012. I can say one thing is my children are very supportive and excited for mommy having this surgery.

@ Whitsmom08 - I know what you mean by not being scared or nervous yet. I am just anxious, but I have started my countdown.

I have not stopped smiling since I found out on Tuesday when I was having surgery. I had tears of joy. My daughters were with me when I found out were just as excited. My hubby was all smiles and excited for the journey that is before me. He had gastric bypass in 2008 and has done great. I am going to the same doctor that did his surgery. And I have the family and friends support. I start my liquid diet on 9/3 but I started replacing meals this past Wednesday. I just did not want to be back at working starting the liquid diet, at least I will be use to it by Monday. So I have gone to Sam's Club and picked up 6 boxes of protein shakes, water, propel zero water, chicken noodle soup (just have to strain the noodle and chicken bits for the broth but it is better than just chicken broth to me) things I have to get is SF Jell-O and SF popsicles.

I just can't stop smiling I just scheduled my surgery for Septermber 17. I am so excited. I have to start my liquid diet on Sept 3.

My surgeon is Dr. Kellum at MCV. I received my letter in the mail today and the surgeon's nurse is working on getting all my hospital papers together.

Hello all, I am excited that I have finally got my approval for surgery. Now I am just waiting for my date. This has been a long road but it was worth every bump that I crossed.
