  1. I was banned on may 3 and I was losing until last week I gained 1.5 lbs. I've been exercising and eating the right foods, but I think it's normal. I was upset because I knew I was doing everything right, but I decided not to stress over it. As long as you know you're not cheating or eating the wrong foods you should be fine. It will come off soon.
  2. My port is on the right side, biggest incision. That's the most painful thing so far for me....very tender. I haven't had any gas pain, just surgery pain I suppose.
  3. So my recovery is going pretty well. No gas pains at all, just pains where the port is.
  4. Hi everyone! Well tomorrow is my day, I'm feeling so many things right now. nervous, anxious, excited! I don't think i'm too nervous about the actual sergury, because i've had surgeries before. I'm more anxious about afterward. I'm praying for a speedy recovery, and i'm hoping that I can come on tomorrow night and tell you all my experiences so far.
  5. I know exactly how you feel. I am on day 4 of liquids only and the first 2 days were so hard. the first day I cried because I was hungry, the second day I cried 6 times for absolutely no reason. It was very hard. I was feeling so vulnerable, but the third and fourth day has been much better, and I'm not feeling like i'm starving.
  6. Hi there! I'm very new to this too. I've begun my process, seen my surgeon, nutritionist, psychologist, and I just got accepted by my insurance! Surgery date is May 3!! Couldn't be more excited! My doctor did not have a requirement for how much weight I had to lose before surgery. He is having me go on a liquid diet, all protein drinks...for 2 weeks before the surgery. To shrink my liver, so putting the band on will be easier. He did say that I will lose weight by being on that diet, but it wasn't a specific requirement to lose anything.
  7. Hi everyone! I'm getting banded on May 3rd, and am very excited! I have something going on every weekend in April, so this next month is going to fly bye. I am the only person in my little group that has gone through with this, so I feel kinda lonely during the process, because I dont have anyone to help encourage me...but I love this site, I love how encouraging everyone is.
  8. Hi everyone, my name is Jessica. I'm a newbie when it comes to this. I've been thinking about having this surgery for a long time, and have never seriously looked into it because...I was embarassed, maybe? I've tried any and every diet that one can think of, but nothing seems to work, I'm always hungry, or the weight just doesn't come off. I'm 5'7 and 290lbs. I just got the amazing news that I was approved from my insurance, and my surgery date is May 3rd. I am feeling so excited, and a little nervous too. I have to start my 2-week liquid diet April 19, and I think that is going to be very challenging. But it will be all worth it when I can have this surgery to be a helping hand in getting this weight off.
