  1. Thank you all for your replies. I didn't mean to sound like I could do this on my own, I was just voicing my thoughts and probably should have filtered them beforehand. I know I need this. If not for me, then to be a more active parent for my children. In fact, that's almost more of a reason for me, because I have no more will power to do this on my own. I've dieted in the past and lost 30, 40 and 60 pounds and gained it all back each time. I'm at a point where I just don't have the willpower to do it anymore, so this is what I need. Hopefully the lack of grelin (sp?) will really work and it'll be easier to do this diet post-op.
  2. Anyone will lose 30 lbs with basically a liquid diet for a month. Makes me wonder why I don't just try to do that! Ha! Seriously though, I know my desire to eat wont be there but seeing my diet messes with my head. My surgery is scheduled for April 12th, btw
  3. Also, I'm scheduled for the sleeve on April 12th, and going to Vegas on June 5th. Will I be able to drink beer by then?
  4. Is it true that after you have the sleeve, you don't even crave food anymore? I swear during my consult that my dr said that the sleeve process removes the portion of the stomach that tells your brain you're hungry, so you have to force yourself to eat???
  5. Thanks for all the quick replies! When my wife threw up, it was major pain. For those of you that have thrown up, how bad is it? What about coughing? Any pain there?
  6. I'm getting the sleeve in a few weeks, but am worried about puking. My wife had the lap band and she would puke all the time. It seems it's the same concept, since your upper stomach is now the small area food has to travel through, but better in the long run. I just don't want to be puking all the time. Any advice from people on this and anything else you want to give me for info/advice? I know I need this, but am scared a bit as well. I'm 6'7", so I hide my weight because of my tall frame, but i am hoping to lose 100 lbs of my 320lbs.
