  1. Yea, I'm one of those people that feel if I tell something that I really want, and people might be against it, they might jinx it, so I am more incline to tell afterwards, after I am in the clear of the surgery. I told one friend and she told me she doesnt want to hang around me if I'm skinny. I feel she was trying her best for me to not get it.
  2. Out of curiousity, do you think I can make future appointments for each month? I will probably call the doctor clinic office later. Were you able to?
  3. I was told I should be getting the surgery in July, but I feel it would be more August if it was exactly six months.
  4. I started the process yesterday and was told that my surgery would be in July, however if they are going on full months I would assume my surgery would be August. Anywho, I will join both months.
  5. When do they start counting your days/months? I went yesterday, had a consult with the surgeon, was told what to do etc. The assistant told me my surgery would be in July. Yesterday was the 31st. Wouldn't my surgery be in August? How exact are they. I should have asked her at the time, but I forgot. My first appt with my doctor is on the 9th. Then she will start entering weight etc. Also.. Anyone got their date earlier? I guess I don't think it would be possible since it's required for insurance that each month there needs to be a weigh in, but I have seen some people get earlier dates, but didn't ask them how.
  6. I told people in my weight loss group I created. I have a youtube channel dedicated to weight loss, and my main facebook I haven't told anyone. I rarely go on. I do intend on posting photos of myself afterwards. I go on every month to two months. It varies. If someone asks on my facebook I'd tell them.
  7. Most of my appointments I have to make on my own, which I did. Some I have to talk with my PCP. So regarding the psychiatrist am I suppose to tell them it's for a weight loss evaluation? I just scheduled an appointment. How long should I expect this appointment to be?How many times did you see the psychiatrist? I don't think I will be able to get a sitter that day. If it's long I will have to try and persuade a family member.
  8. I'm looking forward to more energy, straight size clothing particularly victoria secret PINK t shirts, and a Burberry jacket. I am more clothing concerned. I do look forward to more energy. My energy levels are pretty good once I had a nights sleep not interrupted by the baby, but I can only imagine what I would feel like at 150. I might feel like Sonic the Hedgehog.
  9. Are slimfast shakes okay? I have the 3 2 1 powder. Once you add the milk its 20 g of protein. I usually add an extra cup of water because it's pretty sweet. Making it nine ounces.
  10. Its a possible side effect after getting the sleeve so I was wondering if anyone has this? How many percent of people have heartburn trouble?
  11. What are the right answers to these questions? Is there a link or list of must have questions? Im assuming the doctor will volunteer information, I just want to ask questions that I'd probably only remember to ask when I leave and reach home.
  12. I'm just starting the process. At my hospital you see the surgeon first. Tomorrow is the first of everything.
  13. Im so glad the day is here. So I definitely know I want to do the sleeve as oppose to other surgeries, now what questions should I ask that I might not find here? What questions are a must to ask the surgeon?
  14. I created a poll asking how many people who were told they had to do six months of weight management did all six, less or more? Just curious. I know it varies per doctor/person/insurance.
  15. So I called the secretary, and she told me everyone had to wait six months before surgery. I figured that, so it helped getting a "definite" answer or just to have an idea. Still counting down the days until my consultation. I'm excited. Five more days.
  16. Can just having a high bmi be good enough?
  17. When I spoke to my insurance company they said its covered if it was a medical necessity. So if there are no comorbidies what would the doctor put? Im sure she can make something nice to put on it.
  18. Yea, I called my insurance three times. In a nutshell I have to go to the doctor and depending on my "necessity" for the surgery then I would know. Its crazy. I would assume something like this would be in writing.
  19. Do you think if I call and speak with one of the women that answer the phones at the desk she will be able to tell me how long my wait time will be based on insurance or is that a doctors call?
  20. Larae, So how many of the six months did you complete, the total six?
  21. You have Health Plus as well??!! I've been looking for someone with this insurance for awhile.
