I'm glad I have a bunch of smaller clothes to last me until I am a 14/1X. I am currently a 24/3x or 4x depending upon brands. It's a good thing I have an idea my size at a particular weight so once I am there I will start buying smaller sizes. I am so going to be a goodwill girl. The prices are pretty good.

My surgery is in July, but I see a few cute items to wear now. I figured I won't fit it the way I want to and it's a winter item (cardigan.) When did you stop buying clothes at your pre-op weight? When did you buy clothes post? I see myself shopping at the thrift shop post. It's cheaper and I will be between sizes. I am excited not having to pay 40 for a decent top at the plus size stores!

I already started my journey, and it is covered under my insurance. Just have to wait until July.

No comorbities, but I decided that I want the surgery because I want more of a life. I'd be happy at 190, but more happy between 120 and 140. I'm currently 285, and 5'6. I was 300 about seven months ago. I gained weight after pregnancy. Now I just want to do things like riding a ride and not worrying about fitting. A reason I have stayed away from rides. I want to be liberated out of this fat suit, and enjoy my young life, and have triple the amount of energy to chase an infant.

What would you do? I do not know how to even start the process of getting a loan, but I am intrigued on the idea. How long would I have to pay it back? Is that determined while applying for the loan? Like others have said the six months might just fly by, but the idea is in my head.I do want to get braces so I can just do the six months and if I do get a loan use it towards braces.

I don't know if they wait until the last day of my sixth month appointment but I was told to make an appointment two weeks before surgery so I can have an idea what to do for the actual day, i.e. wash with antibacterial soap, etc. My surgery is suppose to be in July. When did you guys get a date?

I will be having my consult on Tuesday. I will make the appointment for April were my aunt can come with.

Would I be that out of it I can't take public transport?

PACU? They didn't tell me anything about having an adult with me. Ugh! I wonder if I can get it scheduled on a Saturday? Hmmm..

It's required as part of the tests (pelvic and ab ultrasound) Just trying to get an idea of the things I need to have someone watch my little one.

Can you tell me about the pelvic/abdominal ultrasound? She told me it should take an hour.

Waiting to go back? Thanks for the well wishes by the way. They didn't mention anything about an adult being there. I don't drive so that's a good thing. What should I expect after? Drowsiness?

I have to get a thyroid ultrasound. Not related to the weight loss appointments. I want to know what happens? Am I put to lay down? Is it something quick? I ask because I have no sitter as yet, but tons of appoinments. I'm trying to get all appointments on the same day so I can have my uncle watch my son. Although I still have to call this local daycare for rates. I've taken my son with my to the doctor for regular stuff, but this is new stuff and I don't want him unattended if the process is long. I asked my friend what it was and about the process, and with her endoscopy they put her under. She couldnt really explain everything to me clearly. I could call the office, but the woman who answered, her English was not that too good. What happens during an endoscopy? How long is it? Thanks in advance.

Oh man I'm sorry you guys have heartburn. Is it that bad where you regret the surgery or type of surgery?

What are the causes of the heartburn? I never had issues with heartburn that would cause me to need medication and I really wouldn't want to be going through that daily. Heartburn sucks. I also would not want to switch to the bypass making it a duodenal switch. I mean you'll lose more weight and keep more off but I don't want that. :/

My surgery is at Methodist Hospital. The list of doctors didn't except my insurance so I went to my insurances' website and looked for local psychiatrists.

The paper is upstairs but from what I can recall about two appointments have to be done via my doctor. It was suggested I see the nutritionist, psychiatrist, and the endoscopy done first. I made appts for all of those including pelvic and abdominal exam. The other two I can't recall. I'm seeing a psych downtown Brooklyn. I do have to do a chest xray as well as blood work. I'm going to call my surgeons secretary and ask if I need to get a paper from the psych.

I'm not worried, just the psychiatrist is not affiliated with my hospital so I want to know if I get a print out to give to the doctor or does it get faxed over. I have to do most of my own appointment management and couldnt find a psych that took my insurance in the hospital.

Aww man. That's long. Btw did you have to tell him it's for weight loss surgery in advance? Do you get a piece of paper from them on the spot to give to the doctor, how does that work? Why would they assume you'd be an alcoholic?

Anyone blogging their wls journey on youtube, whether before the surgery or soon after? I'm looking to subscribe to others. I also created my own page. I just started so not that many videos. I have six months left, lol.

I want to ask this question to my doctor. Is there an easier way to break down this question? From how I picture it. What keeps the staples from scraping anything neighboring? Hmmm.. I like technical questions. Thanks for bringing this up.
