  1. Hey Gina, Are things getting any easier? Did you get the help you needed/wanted from our responses? Let us know how you're doing.
  2. Hi Zephyr, I haven't tried those two together, but I have used chicken broth to thin out the cheddar soup and it is tasty. But I've noticed that nothing tastes the same twice. I'm wondering if there's a site somewhere out there that can show me more choices.
  3. All is not lost. I'm getting a little sick of my post op diet too. Talk to your nutritionist about other options so it doesn't get boring. Variety is the spice of life. I was put on a 2 day clear liquid diet and now am on a 7 day protein shakes and thinned liquids diet. You might want to check out the Unjury brand protein; Chicken Soup flavor. I'm able to eat thinned down Campbell's Cheddar Cheese Soup! I know how ya feel about wanting a cheesburger-I feel that way too but I don't want to jeopardize what's been done or make myself really sick. That's all I can do is share my experience with you. Good luck.
  4. Hi, I want to know about hair loss, sagging skin. Your experience with the surgical center. How to look up support groups. Did you ever break your pre op diet and maybe have something you shouldn't have had? Tell me the pros/cons of life now compared to before. The success rate of this surgery (any credible sources-even yourself as an example is fine). That's about all i can think of right now. I'm going in on 4/11. Seattle, WA Dr. Landerholm.
  5. Hi Sabrina, I hope it gets better for you soon. Keep us posted. Take it easy.
  6. Hi Kim. I'm in the middle of a new life....time for a new me. And I hope to have a family of my own too.

  8. Hi Mita, I'm on a low carb, low calorie diet. 40g carbs/1500 cals/day
  9. Wow. Thank you Merydia. There are times where it gets difficult-I realize that. And sometimes it's hard for me but I look at it like this: the past 2 years has been all about taking good care of myself. I've seen a counselor, made new friends, started a new life. I call it repair, rebuild and renew myself. I have not always been able to focus on me/my needs and sadly, it took leaving my ex hubby to realize that.
  10. I didn't know where to start on these boards about this. But I figure this part of the forum is a good spot. And this is alot of info that i'm about to share. I feel like nobody cares some days. I also feel a bit more sensitive than usual, crying easier kind of insecure at times. I'm under a lot of stress. Even my boyfriend seems like he's iritated with me. The guy's been with me through a lot in the last few years; loss of a loved one, my divorce and the friends that left with it. Now I'm going through this along with prep to file bankruptcy and being laid off at the end of April. I'm not sure what to do. I want a support group and am not sure where to look. I'm not normally one to post my business to a bunch of people online that I haven't met but I realize that I need to reach out.
  11. Hi there topgun. Let me know how it's going post surgery and of course how the surgery went.
  12. Hello everyone! I'm currently a 26/28 so I'm wondering how it works with the clothing exchange? Please let me know. THanks.
  13. and I'm nervous, excited, ready...well, all kinds of feelings. I'd like to find a support group either online or in person starting soon. Anyone know where to look? Thanks.
  14. Thank you for your support. I'm going through with it...just beginning to feel all sorts of emotions. Not sure what i need right now...a support group maybe?
  15. Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good resources online or books to help with this. Especially looking for a free website that is good at showing true carb counts (like net carbs), I'm using myfitnesspal currently and it's ok for a starter. I want to know more food choices I can make to maintain a 40 carb/ 1200-1500 cal a day diet. I'd appreciate it. I hope someone has time to post an answer by tomorrow evening before I get groceries. Thank you all so much in advance and have a great weekend!
  16. I'm nervous and excited about this. But ready. Also somewhat apprehensive. I'm thinking 'I've done so much preparation; why do I feel like I'm second guessing my decision?' But I really have to soothe myself toward this. Anyone else feel like this?
  17. Hello, I'm pre-op and trying different s/f stuff. It seems that i have problems with anything that has Splenda in it. After eating a chocolate for example, I get a headache, feel nauseous and then I have to go to the bathroom a lot. Anyone else experiencing this? And are there other s/f alternatives than Splenda? Any books/online resources for this? Please share.
  18. Wow! Thank you to every one of you for your kindness and reaching out to me. I appreciate the support.
  19. ...my surgery date is 4/11/12 in Edmonds, WA. I'm excited but a little scared too. Hope that's normal. I decided to do this because my health is important to me. I want to improve the quality of my life. I hope there are others on this board who are nearby...I live in Renton and I go up to Edmonds often. New friends would be appreciated. Anyone out there? I'd love to give/recieve support.
  20. Yep, along with everyone else. Every surgeon is going to tell you something different. It depends on where you go too....and what BMI your insurance wants you at. I'm going on a low carb/low calorie diet prior to surgery. I hope to make this as simple as possible. Good luck to you!
