Did You Have Only Liquids One Week Postop?
A little tip to help get in your fluids.....get a 2oz shot glass and a litre of water at a time, and sip 1 shot every 15min. Water helps the best with hydrating. That's what I did and never got dehydrated. Good luck and keep sip, sip, sipping

Post Op Pain Meds?
I was told no pills for at least a month or two that are bigger than a baby asprin. Ask the pharmacist whether something can be cut or crushed. If you crush something put it in a teaspoon of pudding and just swallow.

I'm Out
I just want to say that we all experience doubts in the final days leading up to surgery. I had a great experience, haven't had any issues and lost 20lbs in the first 9 days. I know 2 people that are 5 years out and healthier than they ever could have been. The risks of having this surgery are way less than the risks of staying obese. Also this is pretty much the same surgery that people with stomach ulcers and stomach cancer have and they have lived long healthy lives. I had a client tell me about her mother who had 80% of her stomach removed because she had ulcers. She lived a long healthy life and just passed away at the age of 91. Your experience also has a lot to do with your surgeon. How he preforms the surgery, how he leaves you stomach and what shape he leaves your stomach. I would take some time and really think hard. Maybe in 2 weeks you won't be ready, but by 6 months you may. Good luck

When Do You Have A Bowel Movement . Surgery Was Oct 15 2012
I went on day 5. But a week later got constipated and had to do the lovely suppository thing. Its gross but works and your little tummy doesn't have to have something else in it. also try to limit the dairy products and see if that helps. Dairy bungs you up. And I had to stop the calcium supplements, thats what was causing my discomfort. Good luck

4 Days Out
I put a 1oz shot glass beside me with a bottle of water and every 15min a had to get down one shot. Worked like a charm. Them I quickly advanced to a 2oz shot glass. Did this for the first 2 weeks. And cold water worked best for me. But some find warm is better. Good luck it gets better every day. I'm 3.4 weeks out now and drinking is good, now to work on different foods.

Liquid Diet Or Atkins Diet 2 Weekl Diet
My doctor had me do an atkins type for 2 weeks prior to surgery and just liquid from 6pm night before surgery. He said it will reduce the size of the liver and make the liver more pliable just as much as a liquid diet would. And my surgery went just fine and I was told my liver was very healthy and pliable during surgery. Every surgeon has different methods and thoughts though.

I Am Sleeved!
I was sleeved on tuesday and as well got myself really worked up about the 'what ifs'. Day of surgery was painful with the gas coming out and every day since has been great. As long as you doc has a good regime for you to follow you will do great! I even stopped taking pain meds on thursday night. And I barely took any during the day thursday. Just remember to keep walking and sipping. Those are the secrets Good luck

Watch Jay Leno Tonight!
Can I give you a tip my doctor has me doing(and I have never has reflux and the gas is tolerable)? He has me taking omerparazole(prilosec) in a capsule form so i can put in water, once a day. and the more you walk, the less gas pain. Pain meds don't really help gas pain. I'm 4 days post op and stopped taking pain meds on day 3. And I'm feeling great! Message me if you want my trick on getting the water in every 15min. Good luck and hope you start feeling better soon

Any Seattle Wa Doctor Recommendations?
I am 3 days post op with Dr Landerholm(Dr Billings assisted in surgery) and I feel great! Evergreen hospital is where I had my surgery and all the staff at the hospital and at puget sound surgical have been great. No nausea due to a patch and pill that I took just before surgery. Have you looked into any of the surgeons suggested?

Looking For People Who Have At Least Two Years Out..regrets?
I have 2 friends that are 4+ years out and both would NEVER turn back! They would do it all again in a heart beat! Both of them live healthy lives now and maybe gained 20lbs or so back after their goal. They both go out to restaurants, family functions, and parties and enjoy just like the rest of the people. As for not seeing people years out on sites like these...I believe it's because they aren't looking for the support and guidance as much anymore. But in the end you will make the decision for yourself and only yourself. When I got to the point where I doubted what I was doing, I realized that this is good to have doubt. It means that I have informed myself well and understand the commitment involved. If I went in with no concerns, I didn't educate myself enough. Good luck with your decision.....I get sleeved on tuesday! September 25 is the day my life will change for the better!

Cottage Cheese And ?
Cinnamon, yogurt, fruit, salt and pepper with tomatoes. Any combination really> I have come to the conclusion that people either like cottage cheese with sweet things, or they like it savory. Experiment. The possibilities are endless
