  1. I am 32 and had a bmi of 42 prior to surgery. I had my surgery on 03/12/12. I had a two week pre-op diet prior to surgery as well. I have lost almost thirty lbs. Have you had your surgery yet?
  2. I have lost two lbs since last posting. Starting fo feel better mentally about this but still having doubts about why I did this. I have startex walking and I am doing about two miles a day. I feel good about that since I am almost four weeks out of surgery. I ate a bite of turkey and a bite of ham today. I am still technically on my pureed mushy stage but I chewed it really well and had no problems! That and a deviled egg made me feel better about being at the two family Easter feast! Happy Easter everyone!
  3. I had surgery on the 12 so im 17 days out. Im gonna be ok just having a bad day. Thanks for the encouragement.
  4. I am reallg getting frustrated. I gained back two lbs and have been stalled at 237 for over a week! I didnt know a stall would happen so soon after surgery and im really discouraged because i read that others are dropping lbs really quickly. My doctor said that he expects me to lose 1/2lb to 1 lb a day for the next thirty days.... Any suggestions?
  5. I just started my third week and im on mushy food... I can eat between 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of food....i know on my sample diet it tells me to eat six ounces of yogurt and i did that today but it took me an hour to eat it. How much can you eat sleeverella?
  6. I am the same way. I go back and forth between being happy i did this and depressed i did this. I am going to have steak this week (in pureed form). My diet plan says i can puree my own meaf or eat baby food which i dont think i could stomach.
  7. I was sleeved march 12 as well. I am moving up to the "mushy, pureed" stage of food and I am allowed to have refried beans (fat free). I dont know if that will help you or not but I plan on trying some refried beans with a little low fat cheese and low fat sour cream (just a dab).
  8. I had two weeks of full liquids and starting yesterday I moved up to two weeks of "mushy, pureed." Eggs are on my list for the mushy pureed stage as well as mashed potatoes and refried beans. Also I can have low fat cheese to
  9. Thanks everyone for being so kind and helping through the surgery! I am currently at 235 down from 261 prior to pre-op diet and I am 10 days post op. I am struggling with the liquid diet and really want to take a bite of solid food. I also stopped smoking two weeks prior to surgery and now I am having a really hard time and want one soooo bad. I keep telling myself that if I am going to get healthy I am going to get healthy ALL the way so no smoking! Any suggestions on good food for the "mushy, applesause consistency" stage... I will be moving on to that in four days!
  10. Feeling okay how about yourself? Im a little sord but trying not to take pain meds except to help sleep at night l. Had to stay in hospital ah extra night because I couldnt keep things down but since coming home I am having trouble getting enough in but what I do I keep down!

Thanks for this post. I was thinking that since I had a c-section that this would be no problem.... I am glad you let me know otherwise. this is why I love this site! My surgery is Monday the 12!
  14. the bariatric advantage shakes are okay but not great. I am not a huge milk fan so I have been mixing them with ice and water in the blender. I also have a shaker cup that I use on the go and they even taste okay then. I have tried the orange cream and the chocolate. My pre-op diet is going okay. I am not gonna lie... I have taken a bite here and there of food but I think all together I have consumed less than 1/2 a cup. I am eating ALOT of sugar free popsicles and jello . Weighed this morning and I am down 11 lbs since starting the preop diet so I am excited about that.
  15. I am having surgery the 12 as well. It is inpatient in Houston texas. Have been on a liquid pre op diet for two weeks. I have been using the bariatric advantage protien shakes I purchased at my doctor office. I think I am going to try the nectar and see how that goes for after surgery!
  16. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Pookey I have not been to the mentors forum yet but I think I will check it out right now. I am super emotional, anxious and scared about Monday so maybe that will help calm me down. Thanks!
  17. I am glad I read this prior to my surgery. (scheduled this monday march 12). In a way it comforts me and lets me know that if I have issues after the sx.. (which I am sure I will because I have had that "what am I doing to myself" thoughts during pre-op diet) that it will get better and there was a REALLY GOOD reason I had the sx.
  18. Hi everyone! I am a new member to the site and my surgery is scheduled for this Monday March the 12. I am excited but also nervous about the weeks to come. My main goal after the surgery is to get to a healthy weight where I can play with my beautiful 4 year old daughter without getting tired quickly. I started at 261 and I am 5 foot 4 inches tall. I have lost ten lbs during my two week pre-op liquid diet so currently at 251. I am very excited to have found this site before my surgery!!!!!!
