  1. Thank you everyone for your great advice.
  2. I had my surgery on 02/28. I am almost two weeks out. My steri strips havent really budged at all. When did everyone else's strips fall off?
  3. I agree that everyday has its own new things. I had mine done on 02/28 and I am finally feeling back to normal. What is killing me is sneezing. I sneezed a few times today and man does it hurt. I have no regrets though.
  4. Ohh I understand. I hope everything works well for you!
  5. I agree with your sentiments. I had my sleeve done on 02/29 . I didnt feel starving at first but the smell of food did get to me at first. I wish you the best!
  6. I also got mine done on 02/28 at Kennedy stratford but I used dr gandsas.
  7. My experience is about the same as yours. Here is my list: For me: Did have to do a 14 day pre-surgery liquid diet. No NG tube. No drain tube. No leak test. At least not after the surgery. Did have blood thinner injections in the hospital Did have a catheter. Took it out the day after surgery. Pain contolled by Morphine drip while in the hospital. Did start walking a day or two after surgery. Difficult and painful to get in and out of hospital bed the first couple days. Getting in and out of bed gives me a small amount of pain. No pain medicine after day 4. Sneezing hurts .
  8. Thanks. I had a little bit of a set back today. I was all set to go back to work today but then I woke up feeling extremely fatigued. The doctor thinks my body was dehydrated and told me to drink lots of hydrating fluids that is helping tremendously.
  9. I have a similar situation and I have Aetna. They approved me right away..I think it depends more on your co-morbidities. I had several..
  10. Make sure you drink your full amount the doctor recommends for the liquid diet portion. I was going to go back to work today but I woke up feeling extremely fatigued and tired. I called the doctor and he think it was dehyrdation. He recommended some hydrating drinks like gatorade and I am feeling much better now.
  11. It does depend on what you do. I have my sleeve done on 02/28 and I am going back to work tommrrow 03/08 so I had a little over a week off. I wish I would have taken a full two off because I am feeling some fatigue but no pain.
  12. That was very informative. My surgery has really made me see how much I used food for comfort. I am finding more about myself. It has helped me in many more ways than just losing weight.
  13. Congrats! I am sure it will go great! I havent had any complications. I am hoping it stays that way. Just make sure right after you keep moving around right way.
  14. I am from Southern New Jersey. About a half hour from Cherry Hill. Who was your surgeon?
  15. I am feeling good. I am actually going back to work tommrrow after only a little over a week off. I am able to do everything by myself. I really am not that hungry. Whenever I smell food it makes me think about eating but I really am not hungry. I am no longer on any pain medicine I only have a small amount of discomfort. Right after surgery I was having this bubble feeling when I drank anything but I started taking priolosec and it stopped. I am going to start walking today. So far so good.
  16. Yes, I am from Southern New Jersey. I had my sleeve done at 02/28 by Dr Gandsas at Kennedy Hospital. Free Weight Loss Tickers at Weight Loss Center
  17. Hello Everyone, I just had my gastric sleeve done on 02/28. To date so far I have lost 13 pounds in on week. I have about a 130 pounds to lose but I am happy I am on my way. I really dont have much pain. I am little slow moving around because I still have a little discomfort. The first week was a little difficult because whenever I would eat or drink I would get a bubble feeling in my chest. After reading many of the posts I started taking prilosec. It has helped tremendously! I am getting ready to start walking everyday and once I am feeling better I will start running. I am not starving but the smell of food I used to eat does attract to me but I am still staying on course. My only problem has been the Protein shakes. I was taking the Bariatric Advantage shakes but they are just disgusting to me now. I also tried the Isopure but I cant stand it. So now I am doing the Atkins and muscle Mlike shakes. At first I was having some regrets but after seeing my weight loss in the last week I am feeling much better.
