I agree they are just being stupid or they want you to stay ill so they can make money. I did not tell anyone what I was doing just going on vacation. It is nobody's business and it is what I have to do help myself be healthier. People can say what they want but they are not living in your shoes and cannot make the decision for you.

$5000 for the sleeve... which includes: 1 night hotel stay before surgery 2 nights in hospital with all lab and surgery, leak tests and so on... 2 more nights in hotel after surgery

You have to do what is good for you health wise and emotionally. Is your significant other supporting you in this journey? Plan in advance and tell your job you need a much needed vacation for your health and take your days off. Find someone that will support you and help you through this to come with you for moral support. Find a new doctor if they cannot see you after this, that is ridiculous. Your doctor should be worried about your health as well. That is my opinion but you will have to do what works for you and your family. It is ultimatley your decision. I made the choice not to tell anyone but my husband and daughter what I am doing. I feel its a personal decision and I do not want to listen to the negativity from anyone. I have done the research and am comfortable with my decision. Good luck and I hope you have some resolution.

I have a question. How are supposed to swallow vitamins if you cannot take in a lot of liquid at one time?

I am sooooo nervous but so excited lol. I cannot wait. I read too much too but I am going to go with my gut and its telling me I am making the right decision. I have read wonderful things about my surgeon and I am going to be fine. Sometimes I read things and it scares me but I will not let anything stop me lol. Keep me posted and I will do the same.

What hospital will you be in? I will be having my surgery May 14th with Dr. Garcia at Hospital Mi Doctor.

I was told to avoid caffeine because it can cause dehydration and to avoid coffee of any kind at first because it can irritate the stomach. My diet said to drink decaffeinated tea.

Well I am sure you will make the right choice for you and your family. I am sure either surgeon will do a great job for you. Good luck and keep us updated on the surgeon, date and experience.

You have to do whatever your more comfortable with. If you schedule with Dr. Garcia maybe I will see you in Mexico. I do not know when you want to have yours but mine is 5/14. You will feel good about whatever decision you make when you make it.

I understand the frustration and excitement. Once you make the decision to go to Mexico and have a surgery that will potentially change your life..... then it feels like it stalled. I understand all those feelings all too well. I was so nervous, anxious, excited and so on but after I made my deposit to Dr. Garcia I actually had some peace with my excitement. So whoever you choose as your surgeon you will have peace when get the confirmation. The excitement does not go away though it is just more gratifying. Have you emailed them to ask what the hold up is?

I love the fact I decided to go with Dr. Garcia. Everything seems to be falling in place and I am excited. Linda from ALM has been very helpful and I feel my choice was a good one. I am scheduled for May 14th and it cannot come fast enough.

Is anyone going to Mexico to have surgery on or around this date with Dr. Garcia? This is my date and I am just wondering if who I will see there.......

I apologize I told you I was a month behind you. I am getting ahead of my self. I am 2 months behind you. I go May 14th. I wish it was sooner though. Keep me posted on how well your doing and how much you like Dr. Garcia. He is my doctor too.
