  9. Hello everyone, Over the week my blood sugar levels have consistently been getting lower, and without any medication! Yesterday: Fasting: 114 Before dinner: 75 This am's fasting was 104! Been averaging 80-90 all day long. I am 9 days post op and still on liquid diet? Feeling pretty good. Last two days I have done 60 minutes on the elliptical and feel pretty good. I can tell I get a little tired about 1 hour afterwards, but nothing major. Thanks for reading, just wanted to share my fist success story...one of hopefully many to come. Sent from my iPad using VST

  13. Stayed one night in hospital. Was up and walking within 2 hours of surgery. Currently on 3 week liquid diet, week 4 is puréed, week 5 is diced and week 6 to be normal, with new portions etc. I am living off of Protein shakes, low sodium broth, sf Jello and v8 juice and getting my 64 oz of H2O and at least 60 gm of protein. So far so good! Still using my spirometer and walking for 30 minutes a few times daily. Feeling pretty good. I can lie down on back or side and sleep. Bowels are in good working order Pain is minimum, but I don't want to rush my recovery. Staying the course and following doctors orders. Chewable multi Vitamins, chewable Calcium citrate and D wafers, b12 sublingual and taking anti reflux purple pill and another to reduce instances of gallbladder stones. I HAVE NOT NEEDED MY DIABETES MEDS! Sugars are in check! Only a couple days in, but very happy with surgery and where I am physically and emotionally. Wish my ticker would show up on iPad! 14. June 4th. Got approval from ins co!
  15. During my pre op blood work, my D level was 21. I live in New England so not outside in sun much in winter. Just wondering what others were told to do for treatment. Thanks!
  16. Hello, So all of my pre op consults are scheduled. My meeting with Surgeon is in may with a tentative surgery month of June. I am traveling on vacation the second or third week of july, so hoping that date works. I can always schedule it for hen I return. Looks like my insurance will cover. BMI = 46 and I am type 2 diabetic. Pre determination letter needs to be sent and approved in May, but I was told they usually have 2 week turnaround. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!
  17. Thanks everyone for sharing. I think the sleeve option makes sense for me and my life change. Have my 3rd meeting this Tuesday, from there bloodwork, psych, dietician etc. The start of a great journey. ????
  18. How about Cigars, and if you don't Inhale? Thoughts? Not like I need one, but just wondering if on the occasion to have one, can I?
  19. I like this topic. I don't smoke them a lot, but would like to partake in the enjoyment of a nice cigar and adult beverage. I don't inhale, so not sure how this could really affect post op... thoughts? Anyone really know answer? Just got some Gurka Widow Makers (nice name)...MY wife bought them.. LOL
