  1. Im almost 3 months out and I still feel sick to my stomach and nauseated and weak after I eat or drink protein drinks. Usually lasts anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Doctor prescribed anti-nausea medicine. I dont take it all the time because one of the side affects is fatigue. Im really discouraged by this. I pray to the good Lord that this is just a "phase" I have to go through. Anyone else having this problem?

  3. Hello everyone! I was sleeved on Feb. 15, 2012. After surgery I lost some weight up until approximately Feb. 25 ish. Since then I haven't lost any weight. I know this is normal but it's been about 2 weeks now. How long do these stalls last? I'll be calling my nitritionist on Monday but wanted input from those that actually have had them. Would love to hear your story. Thank you and God bless

    20 Minutes

I have found it EXTREMELY difficult to eat slow as well as drinking slowly. Plus also taking small bites. I try but seems like it only works part of the time. I still haven't "learned" to do this even with the discomfort. I'm feeling a bit un-normal when I can eat and drink much faster than I'm supposed to. Im trying to un-learn my old habits and learn new ones but when one has been eating and drinking like this for over 30 years it is a big challenge for me. I'm able to drink an ounce of liquid in a minute..I totally feel like I'm the only one that is doing this and I'm not even 3 weeks out. I feel like I'm already failing.. Is anyone else having this issue?

    Protein Is Such A Pain!

Thank you everyone for your info. As I am barely 2 1/2 weeks post op and I'm really having a hard time finding drinks that taste good. I bought some that were called 'Oh Yeah' I thought the cookies and cream one would be good but, wow, it is gross! The strawberries and cream one was a bit better but not by much. Gonna try and mix them with other things like Greek yogurt and protein shake from Costco to make them drinkable. Also I bought some of the 'new whey' protein shots...I don't know about any of you but I think I would probably puke if I had 3 sips of it. I've only tasted the fruit punch one. Gonna return the other 3 flavors... Anyhow, thank you for the info guys! If you have any other suggestions and info it IS grately appreciated.

    Protein Is Such A Pain!

[quote name="Lisa ]I drink Premier Protein shakes from costco and pour them over ice to make them really cold. I also really like the Syntrax nectar Cappucinno over ice and' date=' to me, it tastes just like an iced coffee. Most of the Nectar products don't have a protein aftertaste. Also, Power Crunch bars taste just like a cookie....they are wafers so they are light and crispy. You really have to try several different products until you find what you like. Everyone has such different taste preferences so what I think is really good, you may not. A lot of bariatric sites (i.e. Bariatric Pantry) offer sample packs so that you can try various products. I've also learned that I do best when I stick to one particular Protein Drink and bar because then I become used to the taste which helps me stick with it. Good Luck and don't give up on finding something you like!!![/quote'] I agree with you the Protein Shakes from Costco taste really good. I'm still on liquids and super, super soft mushy foods. I will have to check out the Nector products (hope we carry those in my area). Thanks for the info!

    Newbie

Hi I'm a newbie also. First day on here and my surgery was on 2/15/12. I been having problems with the puréed foods (they are just nasty!) and would rather be on the liquid diet! However cottage cheese goes down real good! I have been feeling sick and nauseated. Not sure why but could be from my liquid multivitamin. I think this might be just part of what i have to go through. They say everyone is different. I can't believe how much weight u have already lost. I think I have lost about 20 so far. Let me know how you are feeling and how you are doing. Take cake!
