  1. Maryjo28, thanks for the encouragement. What kind of protein shakes do you drink? I've tried a few and do not like the taste of "whey" it also makes me feel really nauseated.
  2. I was sleeved 2011. Initially lost a Ton of weight the first year but have never reached my "goal" weight of 140. I Started at 276, today at 181. It's been tough, snacking has been a real problem for me and yes you do get the hunger feelings back, I don't care what they say.... My stomach rumbles if I don't eat for more than 3-4 hours. Doctor said it was most likely gas and not hunger pangs. Also really think about the psychological part of it, not being able to eat certain foods or large amounts of food gets to some people. Also I lost more than half my hair the first year and have never been able to get it all to grow back. I really need to just get back on track ???? but I still believe having VSG was the best decision I ever made & have no regrets! Hope this helps.

    Arizona Sleevers

Hi. I was sleeved March 2011. Lost 95 pounds but recently gained back 15 looking for a support group or even just a few of us who can meet to help each other stay motivated here in Tucson...for those who've been sleeved and struggling to "maintain" having someone going through the same thing would help tremendously!!

Hi Tonia, I was sleeved on 3/7/12. Started at 258, am now at 189 over a year later. It has been a hard journey for me, I never thought the physiological effects would be so difficult. I find myself snacking more and more and exercising less. I need to get back on track too. Maybe we can be accountability buddies. I'm in Las Vegas.

    Las Vegas Sleevers!

No, I've never been to any of the support groups. I thought about going but never did. Have you went to any?

    Las Vegas Sleevers!

Hello, I live in Las Vegas and was sleeved almost 7 months ago by Dr. Soong. I can tell you it was the best decision I ever made but it has also been a struggle to get use to eating right, drinking enough water and exercising. I have lost a total of 70 pounds to date and it feels like my body has been in a stall for the past 2 months.

    Hello

I had surgery on 3/2/12... Was at 256, now down to 212, I can't break my stall. But I know it's because I am eating too much. Once my food goes down, and I dont have that full feeling anymore, I find myself grabbing something else to eat because I feel hungry. I tried to drink more water, but it doesn't seem to help. I feel like all I think about ALL DAY LONG is food! :-(
  9. Im 7 weeks post op & I feel the exact same way!! I keep thinking it's ok to have just a small piece of this or a sliver of that, all the while knowing I'm just fooling myself! I have a desk job & I was a snacker before surgery and it hasnt changed, I find myself eating small pieces of whatever is around. I finally just threw away all the snacks at my desk to avoid temptation & I'm gonna concentrate on drinking my water instead. We'll get there, be strong!

    Hiccups

I'm almost 7 weeks post-op & also get the hiccups when I'm getting full, my nose will also start running just a little. I've taken those signals to be the "stop eating" signs. What's really hard is to not drink water when you have hiccups, force of habit I guess.

Am I the only Nevada Sleever??

Hi myvsg2012, maybe we were in the class together... Too funny. How did your surgery go? I know each day gets better but today not only is the shoulder pain still there, but all day I've felt like I have something stuck in the middle of my chest that won't go away... So uncomfortable!! And its still hard getting all the protein/fluids in. Are you going to participate in any of the support groups at the surgical center?

Am I the only Nevada Sleever??

I'm in las Vegas & just got sleeved on March 2nd by Dr. Soong. It's been a rough few days. I have pain in my left shoulder when I take a deep breath. Hard to drink any fluids because it hurts. Everything has to be warmed to be tolerated. Anyone else have these issues?
