  9. Thank you kat1.... yes there is something good in everyday.... Day 11....(Mothers Day and my husband birthday)... don't worry everyone i am sure i am going to stop "daily" posting some time soon, its just right now everyday is filled with newness... brunch with friends.... First time at an "eating" gathering....they knew about my sleeve so it was adorable....she had it set up buffet style and every entree had a 1/4 cup portion already puree'd .... tears of friendship rolled down my face. My husband was pushing my wheelchair while i was deciding on food....i took puree chicken... Then the host removed all the puree'd portions and made me a to-go bag.....i am truly blessed.... So, i will close for now, hope everyone had a great Mothers Day. I know i had one i will never forget... tjmom/sandy

  14. Day 9.... big mistake, for me, adding protein to my serving of cream of wheat! ....trying a new food AND adding protein did not sit well.... Did not throw up, butter did upset my stomach... So, rest of day i ate: sugar free pudding (snack), protein shake for lunch, then had devil chicken breast for dinner.... Yum! ... evening snack: unsweetened applesause .... nausea did not return..... I wish all you mothers out there a "Happy Mothers Day" on Sunday.... Enjoy your children, your grandchildren and be proud of the road you are on... We are headed in the right direction to a healthier and happier life! healing hugs to us all, sandy/tjmom

Asked husband to go shopping for some "next week" foods... 1- cream of wheat (original) 2- slices of ham, chicken and turkey to puree 3- eggs to boil and make egg salad 4- mild chili to puree & freeze 5- Refried beans to puree & freeze 6- Bean and Bacon soup to puree & freeze 7- chicken & beef broth to help puree foods 8- low fat mayo *****i am so lucky to have him in my life...i can't wait until i am able to get out of my wheelchair and take a walk with him.....have a great evening everyone! sandy
  22. lol....it may be "real" food but not original consistency.... Here is how my Dr and NUT have it set up post-op: Clear Liquids - day of surgery & day after (may 2 & 3) Protein liquids - 1 week (may 4-10) Puree foods (baby food consistency) - 1 week (may 11-17) Mechanical Soft & Mushy - 2 weeks (may 18-31) Regular Diet - limit MEALS to no more than 3/4 cup..
  23. We get ours from Cash-n-Carry..... Awesomely improves protein shakes, decaf coffee and when i had to "thin" my sf pudding, it worked wonders!
  24. Hi Kat , welcome....i just turned 59 on April 24th and sleeved 1 week ago today on May 2nd.... I too wish i would have done this years ago.... No regrets at all!!! **************** Day 7 ------- today was my 7-day post-op doctor appointment... 328 - highest weight - (Nov 2011 - began the process for WLS - started high protein diet while doing all the insurance required appointments) 294 - day of surgery 278 - 7 days post-op (drum roll please) -16 lbs ..... OMG ..... i am so shocked..... I know i will NOT continue loosing at this rate, but i am so excited!!! Total weight loss from day 1 is 50 pounds!!! Things I think about: 1- 50 pounds that my arthritic knees, hips and back no longer have to support! (they are happy with me) 2- My blood sugar is under control, so no more diabetic medicine... (i was on metformin, glyberyde (sp) and Byetta shots)... my doctor told me he would hold off putting me on insulin shots, until we checked my numbers after surgery) **** numbers normal! **** 3- I am NOT hungry. I use the clock to tell me when to add fuel to my body....i am ""Eating to live" no longer, "Living to eat" hope you all had a super fantastic day, g'nite Sandy/tjmom
