  1. HEY!!!! Guess what???? It's Monday again! Only you have the ability to make it awesome!
  2. I still have a little bit of port pain if I lift something too heavy or to strain on that area. It went away for a while but then I slept funny or pulled in somehow and it hurt for a few days. For me it was my sign to take it easy. Take care of yourself!
  3. I doubt you could get rough enough to cause the band to slip. I think of the band as a rubber band on the middle of a balloon. If you put too much weight or pressure on the top half of the balloon or try to push too much through it would cause it to slip. The band is located in the middle of your body. Not sure what you could do physically to force slippage during sex. Just my 2 1/2 cents here and there is no such thing as a silly question.
  4. down another .6 oz. I'll take it. I want to get below 190 by next week. That's only 1.6 lbs. Wish me luck!
  5. I had a haital hernia repaired at the same time I was banded and I don't think it made any difference in my level of pain or my recovery. I was all over sore for a few days (gas pain) and had port pain for a few weeks which I've heard was normal. One thing I have noticed since my surgery is I haven't had heartburn once since it was done and it doesn't matter what I eat. I never realized how bad my heartburn was until it stopped. Nausea seems to be a common side effect from surgery. Hope this helps. j~
  6. I'm doing pretty good. Wish more people from the Springers group would post but it's nice to have the support from those who are still around. Ya get sorta attached to you closest band buddies I'm planning my meals, packing my lunches and working on keep my protein up. One ounce at a time! j~
  7. I've decided it's just too hard to weigh myself everyday. I'm going to focus on my food intake and stop getting frustrated because I'm only losing an ounce or 2 a at time. I was really hoping to lose more weight faster but like the old song says: "You can't always get what you want, and if you try sometimes you'll find you get what you need!" TURTLES UNITE! julz~ <<<pushing the scale under the bed
  8. scalico I'm in the same boat treading water I'm down a few ounces and gain a few the next day. Back and forth like this since my surgery. I was hoping after my fill it would change but I don't feel a ton of restriction so I just keep hoping for the best and keep my food intake on track. Your not alone!
  9. Congrats to you both! Very exciting changes in your life!
  10. I did not have any problems with nausea. My only issue was with port pain and if I lift anything too heavy (like a 5 gallon paint can) I can feel it pull. I am curious what your NP has to say. Hope it gets better! j~
  11. Sexy Mama! Keep up the good work!
  12. Congrats on your first fill. I'm sure you'll do great!
  13. CONGRATS LADY! I'm so happy everything went well for you!!! Now focus on a speedy recovery. Welcome to the land of bandster!
  14. Oh I give myself credit! LOTS of credit! If I walk to the bathroom I consider it exercise! j/k I should start swimming laps!
  15. Good Luck tomorrow! I'm sure everything will go great and you'll be back at it very soon. Just remember to be kind & gentle with yourself. ((( Big Hugs ))) j~
  16. GOOD MORNING!!! << yes I'm shouting! Trying to wake up the room. Hope everyone out in Springerville is doing awesome and staying focused! It's going to be a great week, I can feel it in my bones. I'm busy working and painting a house I'm in the process of buying. Which is quite a job when it's 112 here. Yes, that's pretty dang hot. As far as weight loss? I've decided I'm just going to be one of the turtles that only loses one OUNCE at a time. I'm ok with that as long as it's a loss. How about you? What's rockin in your world?
  17. I'm probably a bit older than most of you but it's all about how you feel about yourself. My lowest weight was 128 lbs at 5' 8". Years ago, but I still remember feeling FAT and lumpy. How the hell could I have looked fat when I was so small? Looking back over my life and the years I've struggled with weight even if it was only 15 to 20 lbs., I had to learn it really doesn't matter how much I weighed but how I felt about myself. I was married for 25 yrs and sex came and went depending upon the tides. It happens. Don't base your self worth on what others may or may not think of you. If you feel beautiful, others will see your beauty. I know its much easier to say then do, but loving yourself regardless of your weight and folds is process. Being single now (6 yrs) and dealing with being heavy has been a great eye opener for me. I've had to learn how to love myself regardless of my current numbers and this reflects on everything I do. If I feel good about myself I project that energy to the world. When I look in the mirror now I focus on getting healthy both mentally and physically because I love myself enough to make the effort. Hope this helps and isn't taken as me being full of myself. I've had a low self image most of my life and deep inside I know it didn't have anything to do with my weight or my body. Be beautiful!
  18. I decided to try on an old pair of pants I haven't been able to wear for 2 yrs yesterday and they fit! Very exciting to hit those tiny milestones! So maybe if your not losing weight, you are losing inches? Might want to check!
  19. Personally, I didn't do the liquid diet before surgery. I was allowed one low carb meal per day and had my share of last meals. I know every doctor is different but seems to me if you've lost weight that would be enough. Confession because of guilt? NOPE, just stay strong the next few days. After surgery you won't want to eat.
  20. Great advice Elizabeth! Yogi 15 lbs is great. I'm at about the same as you and if I think back to how much I struggled and failed prior to surgery it helps me realize how well I'm doing now. I'll take what little weight I've lost as a victory and remind myself that losing slowly is better than not losing at all.
  21. 11cc with a 3 cc fill. Don't feel tons of restriction yet but still moving forward.
  22. That is AWESOME Ready. I haven't been working out but maybe house painting counts? Anyway, keep up the good work and keep sharing! Motivates ME!
  23. My doc said I could be a sea turtle after 3 weeks.
