Good morning, Violets!! PamELa is the first to post this morning?? Now that's a first. I got up at 8:30 and then took a shower and started a load of laundry. Going to go get dressed and work on my hair. I got a new spikey haircut and am loving it. Grady comes at 11:30 and we'll watch him while his mom gets her hair trimmed. Then we'll all go out for lunch and then Kris and I will go out and buy gifts for a 16 year old girl. The Democrats here in town always buy Secret Santa stuff and Kris and I go together and buy the gifts for one child. Should be fun. Off to start my day. Everyone make it a good one. So glad to have you back, Tracy!!!! December 1st today ladies... REALLY make it a good one.

Nope, it's a free download. I just finished I, Alex Cross on the puter. Now on to see what else I downloaded on the Kindle so I can start it in here while I watch tv. Only problem is, when I read on the puter, then go to the Kindle it does not sync the pages. I have to remember where I was in here and then find it on the Kindle. A small price to pay for being able to have one Kindle work for two people at the same time.

Such a deal.. I got an $88 robe for Bob for $25.00 and 3 pair of pants for son Joe. Also got some deshedding stuff for Jetta. We combed enough hair out of her today to make a coat. Grady just left and he was so cute while he was here. No Ethan tomorrow so we'll get our Christmas decorations out. We have Grady for an hour while his mom gets her hair cut and then we'll get the outside lights done when he goes home. Going to watch some tv and read some on the Kindle on here. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Good afternoon, Violets.. We are back home and I already have one load of clothes in the laundry. Ethan comes soon and Grady will be here for an hour tonight. We are back to normal. The Bobster is brushing Jetta. We couldn't believe the amount of hair on the floor when we got home. I got a lot of Christmas shopping done yesterday and will do a bit more this week. I haven't even thought about putting up the tree yet. Maybe this week. I'm worried about Grady being drawn to it like a magnet! We saw snow on the way home today. None here, but a bunch about 10 miles out. I know we can't dodge the bullet for much longer, but it's been a nice November. Can you believe tomorrow is December???? New month, new resolve.. yada, yada, yada.. I've been saying that for a year now. We'll see how this month goes. I guess I'm too comfortable where I am. Goal seems like an impossibility, but I have to get my head back in the game. I bet we all make some New Year's resolutions and I bet they will all sound similiar. The good part is we are here to support each other and the better part is our friendship isn't based on how much we weigh. We're all beautiful Violets and I couldn't be more proud of each and every one of us!! Off to be a Gramma again. Everyone have a great day!!

PamELa... I just have the habit of turning it off when I'm done. Bob often just puts it to sleep. I'm 3/4 of the way done with I, Alex Cross. I read a little of it on the Kindle and a little here on the Kindle for PC. Technology is pretty neat!! It's 4 a.m. and I can't sleep. We head home in the morning so we can be there to babysit Ethan at 1. I'm ready to go home. It's been a roller coaster of emotions the last few days. I need to get home and start decorating for Christmas. Off to try and get back to sleep. I can hear all of you snoring out there!! :confused:

Good evening, Violets.. We are back from Petoskey. Didn't go to the casino. I couldn't justify losing money when we needed to get some Christmas presents. Got Kris a really neat sweater coat and got DIL some slacks, a sweater and belt. I need to get Kris a Pandora charm and then she'll be set. Got Nathan some fly fishing stuff, so he's set. I posted a video on Facebook of my friend Kathleen who passed away. It still just doesn't seem real. The hotel here is empty except for us and they closed the pool for cleaning. I'm ticked. I'm going to write a nasty letter when I get home. There was no notification that that was going to be done and I LOVE my pool time. We were expecting that there wouldn't be any kids tonight because of school tomorrow, but we sure didn't expect to have no pool time. They said we could go to the pool in the hotel across the street... but no way am I doing that. We are headed home tomorrow morning and I'll be glad to see my doggies and Ethan and Grady again. Going to read some Kindle, knit a bit and get some sleep. Everyone sleep well. Oh... forgot to mention, we saw Blind Side and it was a GREAT movie. I really, really enjoyed it.

Good morning, Violets.. We are up and off to Petoskey.. a town about 30 minutes away. They have a casino and a great movie complex. We're just going to chillax for the day. And shhhhhhhhhhhhh we're not going to church today! Everyone have a great day today. Be good to yourselves. Love you all!!

Good evening, Violets.. Well, we are back at the hotel and ready to go relax in the pool and hot tub. The service was beautiful. The Bobster made me very proud. He did an awesome job. The president of the union read the eulogy I wrote and he did a great job. The staff got everything set up and served the meal. My school was a K-12 small school so the staff is really close. I got to see staff that retired before I did and I got to see some of my former kindergarten students and their kids. One of them said to me.. "I am what I am today because of you." What a wonderful thing for a teacher to hear. Fortunately she turned out pretty good!!:Yawn: Bob and I are both exhausted and we're going to just chillax the rest of the evening. Tomorrow we are going to a town nearby and go to the casino and then see a couple of movies. Can't wait. Oh.. the room finally, finally warmed up. It's really comfortable now. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well...hugs to you all.

Good morning, Violets.. We are up, dressed and headed to Mio for the memorial service. It's going to be a sad day today, but I look forward to seeing friends and colleagues and recalling all the good memories of Kathleen and our teaching years together. Everyone have a good day. I'll check in tonight when we get back.

PamELa.. no question about what your first Kindle book should be.... GOING ROOOUUUUUUGE of course!!:thumbup::biggrin: We're in our hotel room. It was 45 degrees when we got in... IN the room. I cranked it up to 80 and now after 5 hours it's up to 65. We have a room on the 3rd floor with two outside walls and a view of the lake and the bridge.. great room,but darn chilly! Bob and I split a whitefish dinner and we couldn't finish it. I'm going to change and head to the pool and hot tub and then get back in time to watch Monk and read a bit on the Kindle. Bob got a free download program that turns his computer into an ebook reader. It's called Kindle for the PC. All the books he has on his Kindle are readable on his laptop. So now we can share the Kindle even easier. Off to swim and soak. Everyone have a good evening.. sleep well.

Good morning, Violets.. I'm up and getting ready to head out for our getaway. It's a dreary, rainy day, but I get some pool time today and that makes me happy!! I can't wait to get away from here even for just a little while. Wish I could take my doggies with me, but Joe will take good care of them while we are gone. PamELa, I have the original Kindle and love it. I see on Facebook that you purchased yours. We're taking ours this weekend. I finished By Reason of Insanity.. a freebie on Kindle and am now reading James Patterson's I, Alex. I'm anxious to hear how you like yours. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We did for sure. Just wish I had some turkey left overs. We have the carcass in the freezer so when we get back home I can start making some turkey soup. Everyone have a great day. I'll message when we get to the hotel and get the laptop set up. Ta Ta for now.

We are heading up to Mackinaw City for 4 days. Just need to get away from Alpena and the church. The choir doesn't sing this Sunday so I'm not needed. Bob isn't preaching anywhere so he's not needed. And by coincidence... we both need each other!! Works out well. Will take my laptop so I can keep in touch. Janie.. I messaged you in Facebook. Are you able to get in there yet?

Good evening, Violets. Just got home from Kris and Nathans. Food was wonderful. I snickled some before we ate so of course after my first bite, I had to pb. sighhh.. I only ate a bite of stuffing, squash, corn pudding and sweet potatoes. Of course I ate a whole piece of butterscotch pie. siggggghhhhhhhhhh again. I feel better at least. Tomorrow we leave for a 4 day getaway. We have to come back for the funeral, but then will return to the hotel after that. I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing day even if you had to cook all day!!! Family time is the best. Grady giggled, Ethan sang and Bob behaved. It doesn't get much better than that. Of course if the Lions had won it would have been great. Also a miracle. Everyone have a good evening.. sleep well.

Good evening, Violets.. I've been in bed all day. Got up feeling queasy and dizzy so I took a motion sickness pill and went back to bed. I slept until 3 this afternoon. Luckily we did not have Ethan and I had no appointments or meetings today. I wrote the eulogy for my friend that will be delivered by the head of the teacher's union on Saturday. I think I am just stressed out about everything and my body needed to recharge. I haven't had anything to eat today so I guess that's a good thing. Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. We are going to Kris's at noon for the rest of the day and evening. Then we leave for our get away Friday morning and won't be back until Monday afternoon. Love and hugs to you all!!!
