156 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good evening, Violets... What a day this has turned out to be. Kris came over with Grady and we went out to lunch together. When we got back I went to Walmart to get a couple of things before the storm and to pick up our Christmas photos.. they turned out great!! Now to type out the letter to go with the picture. When I got home Bob was on the phone with Jen and told me we needed to get over there right away because she had fallen down the basement stairs. She didn't think she broke anything, but had been at the bottom of the stairs for about an hour. She thought she knocked herself out, but wasn't sure. Ethan was roaming around the house upstairs, coming to see her every now and then and saying.. Are you ok, Mommy?... We got right over there and I helped her up the stairs. She was really in pain so Bob took Ethan home and I took Jen to the ER. We were there almost 2 hours. X-rays turned out negative for breaks. Just severe bruising. They gave her a pain shot and a Valium. She was in a gooooooood mood when it was time to go home. I doubt that she works tomorrow. We will get Ethan first thing in the morning for the day. So much for today being a day to ourselves.... I sat in the waiting room with the "people from Walmart" and two hip hop wanna be's complete with jeans down below their butt, baseball hats sideways and hoodies....perfect for northern Michigan.. The storm is supposed to start tonight at 10 and we are supposed to get 10+ inches. We shall see. My Godson texted me to ask what I thought about there being a snow day tomorrow. I'm the resident snow day predictor. I told him no school tomorrow or Thursday. Hope I'm right!! Off to watch NCIS and then read a little and wait for the storm. Everyone have a good evening. Good morning, Violets.. I got to sleep in late because Ethan doesn't arrive until 1:30 this afternoon. Time for me to get some things done this morning. All reports say a big storm is headed our way today through Thursday. We're supposed to get 8-12 inches of the white stuff. I don't mind cause I don't have to worry about driving to work in it, but choir rehearsal is Wednesday and we only have 2 more rehearsals before our pageant on the 20th. Oh well..that's life in northern Michigan. It's 20 degrees right now. Had to take our Yorkie Kirby to the vet yesterday. Sunday when I let all the dogs out Jetta the huge dog ran into him and he slipped in the snow on the deck and after that he hopped on three legs. No yipping like he was in pain, he just wouldn't walk on that leg. Bob took him to the vet yesterday while I was doing my hospital shift. Vet took x-rays and said he has severe arthritis in his hip. She gave us some pain meds to give him for 5 days. If the meds don't help him, we're looking at hip surgery... oh joy. Well, today he's walking on the leg so I have my fingers crossed. The vet also said to help the pain he needs to be exercised more and fed less... hmmmmmmmmm now why does that sound familiar??? I haven't had a fill in a year now and I still pb when I eat too fast or too much. At least I know my band is still there working. We've had soup for the last couple of days for meals. Tonight I'm fixing pineapple glazed ribs in the pressure cooker. Very yummy. Off to get some breakfast and get dressed for the day. Everyone make it a good one! BBL...

Good evening, Violets.. What a day. I just got up from an hour nap. I was up early this morning and did my church thing, then we went to lunch and then I had a concert with the symphony. It went very well. I got home at 5, we had some homemade veggie soup and then I crashed. The goooooood news is.... the Bobster had put in an application for an interim position at the Presbyterian church about 40 minutes away. There were 32 applicants and after preaching there twice last month, he was the unanimous choice!!!! Soooooooooo he soon will be working once again doing what he loves.. preaching and taking care of a church as they search for a new pastor. If it was not for my best friend, the organist at my church here, I would be done Jan. 1... but I can't do that to her so I will stick it out till June, but then I am definitely done, done, done with choir directing and being in a different church than Bob each Sunday. Michelle....how is DH?????? Hope he got some relief. Janie..did you try a cold pack on your knee??? Congrats on the weight loss!!! Today during the concert, I was standing on a riser for about a half hour and my bum knee locked up. I had to step slowly off the riser when we were done. I looked like a little old lady...............oh wait.......I IS! I've been coughing a lot this evening.. Hope it doesn't get worse. I have too many musical events coming up in the next few weeks. Can't afford to be without a voice! Off to watch Desperate Housewives... wooo hoooooo.. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Good morning, Violets.. It's dark out and we have about an inch of snow on the ground. Guess winter is finally here. 22 degrees out, but nice and cozy here by the Christmas tree. PamELa.... I finished Wishin' and Hopin' last night.. what a hoot! Thanks for recommending it. Now off to find another one. Gotta get ready for church and then our concert this afternoon. Good evening, Violets.. Quiet again today in here. That's the weekend for ya. We had a nice, relaxing day today. Went to Walmart and got a few things and had lunch with Kris, Nathan and Grady. Came home and got the Christmas picture taken and then sent it in to Walmart to be made into cards. I still need to get my Christmas letter done with all the highlights of the past year so everyone who gets a card can read it and yawn a bit. :w00t: It got up to 28 degrees today,no snow at all. Wonder when we'll get some that will stick on the ground... not that I'm asking for any yet!!! But sure would be nice to have some on the ground for Christmas. Last year at this time we had 15 inches on the ground already. I'm mailing out my Secret Santa gift on Monday.. wooooo hoooooo!! Off to work out on the glider for a half hour and then place some games on Facebook. Everyone have a good evening!!

Good morning, Violets... Sorry Michelle, but you can have the snow.. at least until Christmas Eve, then I must have at least a dusting. None here at all. It's 25 degrees here right now. I slept in till 9:30.. had a coughing jag last night so I took a Mucinex this morning and of course it got caught in my throat. I pb'd the juice I took with the pill, but the pill stayed down, thank goodness. NOTHING, repeat , NOTHING on the agenda today!!! First time in a long time and starting tomorrow the rush starts, so I'm going to enjoy as much as I can today. Everyone have a great day... be good to yourselves. Good evening, Violets.. Back from rehearsal and now waiting to watch the big finale of Monk. Love that show! Everything is quiet here and I'm enjoying my solitude. Going to read a bit on the laptop while I watch Monk.. Multi-tasking is my middle name. (I'm watching the Detroit Pistons game too).

Good evening, Violets.. Ethan's mom just picked him up so finally some peace and quiet for a couple of hours until I go for dress rehearsal at 7. I love that little boy, but 5 days a week is a lot to ask of an old lady!! Have to be home tonight in time to see the finale of Monk. NOTHING on the agenda for tomorrow!! I can't believe it!! Michelle... kudos to your son for his obvious talent. That's pretty impressive for him to be in a group with adults and pros!! Heather.. Kris uses Ambusol and tylenol for Grady when he teeths. He now has 8 teeth!!!! I told Kris he'll be eating corn on the cob this summer. Off to eat supper and then head to rehearsal. Everyone have a good evening..

Good morning, Violets.. I'm up and waiting for Ethan to arrive for the day. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to Zumba or not today. I have this nagging cough and really don't feel like going out today. I'll see if I can talk myself into it in the next hour. Tracy... once you get an accurate diagnosis for Robby, meds will be a tremendous help. Will be sending purple power to you on the 15th and of course every other day too! Yeah.. pretty darn quiet in here!! Just got back from flute rehearsal. We are playing Christmas music for the church service on the 13th. Great stuff... I'm on chapter three of the book, PamELa... liking it so far. I'm going to go to bed early tonight. Ethan comes at 8 again and I have Zumba Gold at 9 and a dress rehearsal for a symphony concert tomorrow night at 7. Everyone have a good evening.. sleep well.

162 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets. I'm up and waiting for Ethan to arrive for the day. I'm also looking out the window and seeing snowflakes drifting down. It's a pretty steady downfall, but not lots of snow yet. I actually wouldn't mind seeing white snow out there instead of dreary grass. The situation with the church will drag on and on, I'm afraid. I just have to put on my big girl panties and realize I can't change anything. But I will be done directing the choir in June after our big Gospel Sunday. 25 years of doing that is long enough and if Bob gets his interim that he's applied for, I don't want to be tied down to this church and be apart from him every Sunday. I would love to quit sooner than that, but I can't do that to my best friend, the organist. We have a meeting with the Board prior to the Board meeting Dec. 14th and it will be without Tom, so we'll see how that goes. I'm not optimistic anymore. Still can't find Bob's cell phone and we just can't figure out where it could be. It will be 2 years before he can upgrade to a new phone. But he says as long as he can make and receive calls, he doesn't need all the bells and whistles the other one had. Nothing on the agenda today except babysitting and then flute rehearsal tonight. Michelle.. wish I could be there to hear the concert. Kudos to DS!! PamELa... read the first chapter of the book last night and it is a hoot. Will try and get some reading in on the laptop today. Good evening, Violets.. Just got off the phone with my friend who is on the board. She is frustrated and so am I. Nothing will be done for now. Tom (the pastor) will meet with the staff and talk about resolving communication issues. whoop de doo. The staff will meet with the Board without Tom on Jan. 3 to let them know how things are progressing. And so the saga continues without an end in sight. sighhhhhhhhhh Off to read on the Kindle.. Yes, PamELa, I Wishin' and Hopin'. I'm going to go start it right now. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Good afternoon, Violets... Homemade turkey rice soup is cooking on the stove. We need something soothing for this evening. Bob lost his cell phone today. He just got it a few months ago and is a really nice one.. but... it's gone. We looked everywhere. The last place he used it was in the car to call me, but it is not in there. I've made 20 calls to his phone hoping we would hear it somewhere, but no luck. Soooo he had to go from a phone with all the bells and whistles to my old one that has just about nothing on it. It's definitely a mystery. Michelle, as for the picture of my new hairdo... just imagine an old porcupine.. that'd be me. It is totally different than anything I have every had before, but I love it and I've had a few compliments. That's always a good sign. I'll try and get a pic and post it. Ethan is napping on the couch. He broke one of my knick knacks from the mantel when he wouldn't listen to Grampa telling him to wait to get the Wii remote. He knocked over my cut out Family and Friends thingy and it broke into three places and I'm disappointed. He got yelled at by Grampa and I told him it was time out on the couch. He zonked out and is still sleeping. Off to check on the soup and keep my eyes open for the missing phone.

Kris just called to let me know that Grady is cutting another tooth. That makes 7!!! Her words were.... whennnnnnn will it end!!! Haydee.. most of the Kindle books are $9.99, but some, like the cookbook I just got, are free. Really!!

Good morning, Violets.. I asked Bob to let me sleep in this morning and he got up and greeted Ethan when he arrived. I didn't sleep well last night. Tonight is the big church board meeting with the pastor. I sent in my thoughts as did the rest of the staff. Now he will have to defend himself or leave. I'm really, really hoping he'll realize what he's doing to the church and leave. I'll know later this evening. The board meets to go over the staff statements at 7 and then meets with the pastor at 7:30 so he can address the statements. PamELa.. the neat thing about the Kindle is when you told me about the book, I went on, bought it and it's here ready for me to start reading. I also got a cookbook on the Kindle. People reviewing it said it was difficult to read in the Kindle format, but when they put it on the Kindle for PC, it was fine. I'm going to do that so I can print off any recipes I want. Jane.. that really sucks about the insurance. And people question why we want to reform the system. Haydee.. global warming is a fake, eh?? People always say that when they experience cold weather, not realizing that's not what it's about. Think jet streams, trends, arctic melting. Loved the pix of the yorkies..!! Almost as cute as my two little guys.. December 2 and no snow here now. I wonder what Christmas will be like. We are supposed to get up to 45 degrees today. The Bobster and I put the lights on the tree outside last night. We have a few more strands to put up, plus some garland and bows and then we will have the outside decorated. We're going to move things around in the living room today to get ready to bring the tree in. Heather....Ayla is more than likely teething. Grady was the same way and I know Carson was too, right Laura? Grady now has 6 teeth and is a happy camper again.... for the time being. Michelle...Sounds like it will be a very nice Christmas at your house, plus the trip to Mexico..woo hooo.. And GOOD FOR YOU on losing once again!! I ate very well yesterday and am doing great today so far. Yes, following the rules does make a difference! I ordered a couple of exercise DVD's and they should be here in a week or two. I am going to the jewelry store today to get a Pandora charm for Kris and DDIL. We got Amelia's gift yesterday plus all the gifts for the 16 year old girl.. What fun shopping for her! Kris was with me and she bought half and gave me tips on what to get. I just have DS Joshua to buy for and then we will be done!! Off to spike up my hair and get ready for the day. Everyone make it a good one.
