  1. Am I missing something here?? When you join a forum and you post a question, are you not supposed to expect answers???? And if the answers aren't what you want to hear, shouldn't you just figure it's not for you and quietly slip away?? What's the purpose in aggravating people as you stomp out the door?? :drama:

  6. Here's the charm bracelet I opted for. I'm going to get a silver charm for each 10# and a two tone for 25, 50, 75# and then a gold for 80# GOAL!! I got the silver bracelet with the gold fastener. It's a neat reminder on my wrist of all that I have accomplished and all that is in my future!! http://www.pandora-jewelry.com/
  7. Tracy.. you know attitude is more than half the battle. We've always thought we could do the diet thing before.. had the right attitude, but not the right tool. Now we'll have the tool, the attitude and we will succeed!!! I'm 5 days post op and have been losing a pound a day. I'm not hungry and I have my first charm on my bracelet. I am so hyped up about the band and have absolutely no regrets except that I didn't get it done sooner. You will do great!!!
  8. I talked with my son in law who is a PA and he said the anesthetic will cause an increase in blood pressure. He said it could take up to 2 weeks for it all to be out of your system. I know when I arrived home, my face was really flushed, but it was much better the day after.
  9. Laura.. you're going to do great! Thoughts and prayers are with you Monday and post as soon as you feel up to it.
  10. Hey Jennifer.. glad to have you back and glad to hear things are going well for you!!!
  11. Sandy, where are you going for your surgery??
  12. yogurt, sf jello, broth, water, juice. That's my day in a nutshell and will be for two weeks since I'm only 4 days post op.
  13. In at 8:30, surgery at 10:45 (they were backed up), recovery at 12:00, room at 1:00, home the next morning. 23 hours is considered an outpatient procedure. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired, but no extra time and no morphine required. I am woman..hear me cough!!!
  14. Terry.. I feel GREAT!! I never had any gas pain and the incision pain was very minimal. Knock on wood, but it was so much less than I dreamed. I took Tylenol the first night home after riding 4 hours in the car, but that's all I've had to take as far as pain meds. I'm doing well on the liquids...... so far. We went out for lunch today with some friends, and they all ate and I had broth. The restaurant had cabbage soup and I asked them to strain out the cabbage. They did and it was delicious. Tracy..... congrats on your continued success with your pre-op diet. Don't let people put doubts in your mind. You know you want this surgery and you know you're going to succeed. Look how well you've done so far! The band will be that tool that will allow you to succeed for the long run.
  15. Welcome Belle! Glad you joined us here. Lots of great information and support on this site. I love the names of your children.
  16. DH and I went to the jewelry store not knowing exactly what I wanted. I told the clerk I needed an "achievement" item and she took me to the Pandora stuff right away. I splurged on the bracelet (cause I'm worth it!!) and started out with the little angel. I collect angels so it was perfect. It's fun looking at the catalog and deciding which one I'll get next. I do have a very supportive hubby. Specially when he got new golf clubs while I was "incapacitated"
  17. I am 4 days post op and had no gas pains to speak of. I told hubby I must have skipped that and he said.. "ohhhhhhhhh nooooooo.. when you were sleeping you sounded like a motor boat". Gee thanks!! But he is a sweetheart. He got me a charm bracelet and an angel charm for the first 10#. I'll get a silver charm for each 10# and a gold two tone one for 25#, 50# and goal 80#. These are adorable and relatively inexpensive.. check it out here.. http://www.pandora-jewelry.com/
  18. Welcome Flossie!! You and I are banded twins.. I got mine on the 10th of April too! And I am so thankful for this site. I learned a ton of info before the surgery and continue to learn. It's a great place to be!!
  19. A good place to start is to go to the USA local lap band support forum at the bottom of the page and then click on Minnesota. There is one thread there with several posting. Congrats on the banding and welcome!!
  20. Hey Dede........ We're banded buddies!! I got banded on the 10th too!!! I've lost 13# so far and will be on liquids until the 8th of May, then two weeks of mushies and then to regular foods. It's a long haul, but definitely will be worth it just to be able to throw out the fat clothes and put on all the other clothes that have been waiting in my closet for years!! Keep in touch, k? Judy
  21. Nice to meet you too!! No, I haven't asked my doc yet. I'm going to let it ride for a few days and see if it gets better with time. The old body went through some traumatic changes and maybe just needs to rest. I take the Toprol whole and use a chewable multi-vitamin...Viactiv. I have the chocolate cherry flavor and it's a nice little treat in the morning. Hope you feel better each day. Hard to believe the surgery is over with and we're on the other side, isn't it???
  22. Congrats on your surgery date. You'll be in band land soon. The time really does go by quickly. It seems like just yesterday, I was considering the surgery and here I am 3 days post op!! It's a great group here with lots of support and encouragement for you!! Welcome!!!
  23. I am 3 days post op and my blood pressure has been higher than normal too. I take my Toprol as I always have, have not cut mine in half since they gave me a whole one at the hospital the morning after surgery. I am in very little pain, just the occasional pull at the port site, so I feel very fortunate. Hopefully the blood pressure will go down when everything stabilizes.
  24. What kind of dog do you have that weighs 3#?? We have two yorkies 5# and 8#. Sure am glad I can still pick them up after surgery!!
