  1. It still amazes me how different diets can be after banding. I can't have soft foods for another week yet. And I was banded a little over two weeks before you!!
  2. I'm with you Terri... DH wants it often, but with both of us obese, it just isn't satisfying. Every once in awhile we do manage to have a little fun in the hot tub. But of course that's not happening since I've been banded. BUT I'm hoping that after we BOTH lose weight, it will be enjoyable again.
  3. Ok, so who's the first Shrink'n Violet who will get a fill?? I know mine isn't until the first week of June, but I'm doing great with what I have. I'm not feeling hungry and my half can of soup and pudding fills me right up. I got some Dulche Le Leche sugar free Jello pudding and I gotta tell ya.. it was the best pudding I've had in a long time!!! I had been eating lo fat and decided to go to the no sugar and WOW.. it's so creamy and great tasting. I have a new favorite now. And those sugar alcohol thingies are great for those of us with constipation issues. Whenever I had a problem and nothing seemed to work, I'd get a bag of the Russell Stover sugar free jelly beans and in no time I was running to the bathroom. Only bad part was the cramps before hand. I'm glad prune juice was mentioned in here cause that seems to do the trick for me now. Got my walk in today and just waiting to go to choir and dinner afterwards. I can have the creamy soup now and one restaurant here has some great cheese soup. I'll be happy with half a bowl of that for supper.. then home for my yogurt for an evening snack. Life is very, very good here!!:target:
  4. I have one, but have not used it since being banded 4/10/07. I'm headed back for a follow up appointment next week and will ask about that and about heading back to Curves. I miss both!!
  5. Good morning all you Shrinkin Violets!!! Hope everyone will have a great day today and think, think, think about those bandster rules. It looks like now instead of looking forward and counting down to surgeries, we all will be looking forward to and counting down to our first fill!! Whoever is first has to report in right away with, like Sara said.. ALL the details!!
  6. I'm still doing ok with my Soup, pudding and yogurt. One more week and I'll get to add soft foods. I'll start with an egg and mashed sweet potatoes.. not together of course!! Then I think it will be fish, fish, fish for awhile.
  7. Took me forever to figure this out. I thought YOU were the bride!!! You look like your son's sister, not his mom!!! You go girl!!!!
  8. I just finished my 1/2 can of Soup at Hand Velvety Potato soup. I added some parsley, dill, garlic powder and pepper. YUMMY.... now on to my snack pack of lo fat chocolate pudding. That will fill me up til supper. I'm loving this band!!!
  9. Hey ShirleyBee... welcome!! This is a great place to be so pull up a chair and join all of us Shrink'n Violets!!
  10. Val.. I just noticed... your goal weight is 99#???:omg: My left THIGH weighs 99#!!!!!
  11. Vdander.. I feel your "nonpain"!! My surgery was the same way. Actually, I used your words exactly!! I think we need to be the cheerleaders for the newbies... but then again I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I AM going to ask when I see the Doc just how I escaped the incision pain and the gas pains.. AND oooooooooo scarey.. we were both banded on the SAME day. Must have been the planets aligned that day!!!
  12. EXCELLENT TRACY!!! You GO girl!!! I gotta tell ya, the charm bracelet is such a neat reminder to me of what I'm accomplishing. Yesterday I added my second angel and I am constantly looking at it and picturing it filled with charms with a big honkin' gold one when I get to goal. Hope you got a good night's sleep and that today will be less tiring than yesterday!! Onward and downward...:clap2:
  13. Good morning, Shrinkin' Violets!!! Wooo hooo.. we have our new thread name and we don't have to be in two places at once!! What WAS I thinkin'??? Today marks my third week since surgery. I'm still on full liquids for another week. Then comes the scary part. I am so comfortable with what I am eating now, I'm afraid of stalling the process by adding soft foods. BUT, the doc and the nutritionist have been right on so far, so I'll stick to the plans exactly as they have it laid out. I go back in a week to check my progress with them and I'm excited!!! I'm packing up my winter clothes and shipping them off to my daughter's mother in law. She would love the surgery, but doesn't have high enough BMI to qualify and has no comorbidities. One of the lucky/unfortunate ones. My friend who had the surgery is home and doing much, much better. She's lost 7# since Friday and that just thrilled her to death. She's the one who first told me about lap bands and I owe a big debt of gratitude to her for that!!! Time to go chow down on my yogurt and Fibersure. White chocolate strawberry is my favorite flavor of yogurt now. Yesterday I tried some sorbet and I thought I died and went to heaven. Only problem is, it's high in carbs and sugars so I only had a couple of teaspoons. Never could have done that before the band. I would have finished the pint and had it dripping down my chin in half an hour flat!!
  14. Sounds good to me Terri.. but I'll let Tracy decide. This thread is her baby and before we lock it down, we need to know it's ok with her. I'm headed to bed . Everyone sleep well and if you're not there already.. in a couple of hours it will be May and we will no longer have countdowns til our April surgeries. WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE ALL MADE IT!!!!!:clap2:
  15. Night Jenn... prayers said and fingers crossed for good luck on the job front.
  16. Again to give credit where credit is due.. Kity did the original Shrinkin' Violets thingy. I just copied and pasted!!! She's the creative one.. I'm the thief. :spy:
  17. Night Tracy.. sleep well!! Those pounds are going to start sliding off really quickly!!
  18. I do mine by time. Mainly because of going to Curves.. which I can't do until I check with the nurse on the 8th. But I try to walk outside for at least 30 minutes. Today I put grandson Ethan in the stroller and we did 45 minutes... he had a toy cell phone that drove me nuts, but it kept me walking!! When I can't get outside I do the walking tapes.. I do the power walking one that is a mile in 20 minutes.
  19. TRACY!!! YOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO.. Time to wake up from your nap!! We NEED you here!!! You need to undo all my thread thoughts and see if you can rename this thread.. K???
  20. Here ya go.. now delete your post so it's easier to read..
  21. I think if you use the advanced feature to edit, you can. I edited the title of the new thread I started. Changed my mind a couple of times on how I wanted it worded. Now ,hopefully, it's gone or soon will be.
  22. I just sent a message and asked a moderator to delete my new thread. Then if Tracy can add our nick name to the title, I think we'll be all set.. right?? RIGHT?????:help:
  23. How bout if I ask to delete my thread and have Tracy change the title of this thread to include the words Shrinkin' Violets???? TRACYYYYYYYYY, we need you here to decide this!!!
  24. And where were you when I came up with this brilliant idea?? Smacking YOU in the forehead now!!!
  25. Welcome to Bandland, Elaine!! Glad to hear your surgery went well and it sounds like your recovery has been pretty uneventful. That's what we like to hear!!
