I vote for tomorrow morning. Why wait??? And BTW... the Bobster wants to join in the contest too. He said he'd love a silver necklace.:tongue2: However if he does happen to win, could there be some kinda guy jewelry?? If he won the necklace you know I'd end up with it and that wouldn't be fair.

Good Morning, Violets... We had a good Easter yesterday, even with the snow we got!! It's 5 degrees this morning, darn cold for Spring, if ya ask me. I did very well yesterday. Only had a few bites each of ham, cheesy potatoes, corn pudding, polish sausage and broccoli salad. There was fruit pizza for dessert and I ate one slice of it. I had one bite of a pecan bar just to see how they tasted and that was it. No Easter candy passed my lips this year. Now THAT is a first!!! And sorry ladies, but no liquid diets for me. I'll adjust portion, adjust exercise, increase water intake, but I refuse to not eat regular food. My doctor frowns on liquid diets and I always go with what he says. Not that I'm saying liquids aren't right for you ladies that choose to do it. It's just not my thing. Ethan is here now and we're waiting for our new tv to arrive. The Bobster is going to the bank today to arrange financing for whatever car we decide to get. We had a couple come over Saturday and they are buying our truck so we'll have some cash for the down payment instead of trading the vehicle in for less than what we're getting in cash. Everyone have a good day. Do what you need to do for yourself and make wise choices!! (((hugs)) to you all for a great week!- Gruene Violets

Meeeeeeeeechelle. you have captured the essence of Easter in the card you sent. Too funny!!:tt2::frown: Well, we're home from church and getting ready to pick up Ethan and his daddy to go to DD Kristin's house for Easter dinner. The bobster and I just finished the left over fish from our dinners Friday night. It was just enough to tide us over til the ham and corn pudding, cheesy potatoes, salad and pecan bars. Not to worry, I won't be eating the Pecan bars. However the corn pudding has been calling to me from the crock pot all morning! Everyone have a good afternoon. Catch you later tonight.- Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
Good Morning, Violets. A BLESSED EASTER to you all. Pam.. sorry you didn't make it to mass. The house sounds beautiful. The dinner would not have been my thing cause I don't like lamb, but asparagus and couscous sound wonderful. And the lady's name was Cyd Charisse. Tony Martin was a singer and she was a beautiful dancer/actress. They've been married for over 60 years and he's 94 and she's 87. I guess I'm showing my age here, but they are very familiar to me. sighhhhhhhhh Kat... so sorry about your DD and grandkids. I would be so worried and upset. She needs to get her out of there for her safety and I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to be civil to Ryan at all today. You do what you need to do and prayers from me to your family today. Time for me to get ready for church. Hope the Easter Bunny brought lots of Protein for you all today!!- Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
Cadbury mini-eggs are my all time favorite candy. I could eat a whole bag of them. Those crispy shells and then the rich chocolate.... yikes!! I'm drooling!! But never fear.. I have not bought one bag nor had one mini-egg this season. Matter of fact we didn't buy any candy at all and so we haven't been tempted. First Easter I can make that statement. Sugar free jelly beans are calling my name though so we might have to break down and get some of them. They really give me gas and the runs, but sometimes that's not a bad thing  Well, I better head to bed. Church in the morning and I have to be there early to get things ready for the choir. Everyone have a Blessed Easter!!- Gruene Violets
54 Days Til The Violet Bandiversary Bash!!- Shrink'n Violets TIP 'O THE DAY!!
When I buy cookies I eat just four and throw the rest away. But first I spray them with Raid so I won't dig them out of the garbage later. Be careful, though, because that Raid really doesn't taste that bad. ~Janette Barber- Crystal Light
I never drank water prebanding, and now I drink 2 liters a day with a mixture of Classic Lemonade and Raspberry Lemonade. I have had no heartburn at all since surgery. Love, Love, LOVE my Crystal Light!!- Where are all the Michigan people at??
I just put an ad in the paper. It's free here in our local paper. I gave my phone number as contact person and the calls started coming in. Every time I put it in the paper I get 1 or 2 new people!- Gruene Violets
Ok.. that'll be tattoo night for you and me, Terry....:tt2:- Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
Good morning, Violets.. I went to bed at 9:30 last night and didn't get up til 9:00 this morning. Guess my body was trying to tell me something!! Jane... thank you for the Easter card!! What fun to get mail from Violet friends. You made my day! Terry... very pretty flowers. My flowers are still buried under snow and ice. Will be a long time before I see any blossoms. it's 26 degrees here right now. Figgers my new Easter outfit is springy looking. I'm probably gonna freeze! The bobster is out looking at cars. He keeps bringing them home to try out. When he gets back this time we're headed back to the Buick dealership to look at the LaCross yet again. It's a never ending mission. It took him over a year just to find the right grill for the backyard. arghhhhhhhhhh We bought a new tv yesterday. Got a flat panel 40". Sure will be different after having a 24" for 23 years!! We bought a cabinet for it to sit in for now, but will have it installed over the fireplace when we can afford it. All the wires have to be run up through the wall. Ooops.. gotta run. Bob is back and we have to go car shopping again!! BBL- Gruene Violets
Sorry.. not my thing either, Terry. You and I will have to figure out something else. Shopping comes to mind.:cheers2:- Gruene Violets

Whew.... finally able to get into the site!! Laura and I have been emailing cause we can't go a day without some Violet talk!! Suzie... sorry for stepping on your toes. YOU are the official drink patrol. What was I thinkin'??? TracyK... to tell you the truth, I didn't know what it meant either. I just typed it in on search here and it came right up. FWIT, almost everything you need to know is out there on the internet somewhere! Well, the 3 hour service turned into 4 because of the rehearsals beforehand and then it ran over by 15 minutes. The only bad part was instead of an electric keyboard they usually have, they had an old upright piano set up and it was out of tune. Therefore, my flute piece was out of tune and there was nothing I could do about it. My friend who played the piano was mortified. We both just got through it and hoped that nobody's ears were as keen as ours. Unfortunately there were quite a few musicians there and they knew right away. There was supposed to be a violin solo, but it turned into an organ solo because she wouldn't play with the piano as bad as it sounded. We had no backup, I couldn't play the music just on flute and she couldn't play it just on piano. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr But it's over and in the past now. Onward to Easter Sunday and much better music!! We didn't go to the service tonight cause the Bobster and I were both plain tired. Sooooooo I'm going to go sit and read my tabloids and relax for a bit. Will check back in later.- Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
Good Morning, Violets.. FWIW Terry... For What It's Worth. sheeeeeeeeeesh. don't you know nuthin?? Laura.. CONGRATS on the -101 That is just amazing and I too remember when you thought the band wasn't doing what you wanted it to do. Looks like it's working pretty darn good to me!! Maundy Thursday service was really nice last night. It gets me in the Lenten mood. Now on to the Tre Ore service today which is also a nice service. I'll be there for the whole three hours plus since we have a couple of warm up rehearsals before the service begins. I think I might be ready for a nap this afternoon! We're off to have breakfast with our cruising buddies. Then on to the service. Everyone have a good day today and I'll catch you this evening when I can. Drink, drink, drink and make wise choices!!- Gruene Violets
We started officially at 114 days. It's really flying by and will start to pick up speed each month. Unfortunately the time together will fly by just as fast......but we sure will enjoy it while it lasts!!:success1:- Gruene Violets
56 Days Til The Violet Bandiversary Bash!!- Where are all the Michigan people at??
I live in Alpena and drive to Port Huron once a month for fills. That's too far to go for their support group so I started my own. We have anywhere from 2 - 17 people at a meeting and we've been going for about 5 months now. I'm amazed at how many Lap Band people there are just in this area. It's really great to meet with people who understand what we're going through that we can talk to without getting the deer in the headlights look! - Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
