  1. My mornings are the worst. Each morning I wake up feeling sick to my stomach. Is this normal? Did anyone else feel this? I had my surgery Feb. 4, 2014 to remove my slipped lapband and had a revision to a sleeve. Thanks!
  2. Called the doctor. The nurse said this is most common with this type of surgery over the other 2. She said mucus may collect over the night and needs to pass through the stomach. I know no one has posted, but I'm replying for someone in the future. She said hot water with lemon or hot tea with lemon. Hot and lemon were key. I've done this and already feel better. She said she can give me a prescription for nausea later if I still need it. My appointment is in 2 days.

Attention Ladies Who Took Birth Control Pills

I'm on it and never stopped. I even took it the night before surgery. I take Cryselle... it's low dose but keeps me regular. I had the shots in my stomach to thin my blood too. I just got home yesterday. My surgery was Tuesday. Anyway, the nurse said because they give you antibiotics right before you go in to surgery is why the birth control might not work the first month and to use other methods. This is common anytime I've been sick and have gone on antibiotics they say you aren't protected the first month, so use other methods. They should alwYs te you that. I thought people were aware of this. If not, hopefully you know now so you aren't suprised later!

Attention Ladies Who Took Birth Control Pills

Why are they not as effective? My surgeon said after surgery we are SUPER fertile due to hormone changes and weight loss. All birth control has the same effectiveness of 99.9% if taken correctly. So to me, it's personal preference.
  5. I don't know, since I haven't had it done yet, but 47 in 4 months is great! I hope that I can lose that much in 4 months! ????

    Well here goes nothin!

I hope you are beginning to feel better. I like reading all these posts of people, but it also scares me!!!! I'm having surgery Feb. 4th and I hope to read that you feel better soon!
  12. Ok just read it again and saw it was the sleeve. So, how long ago was your revision?
  13. Susan may I ask what you revised to and how it is working? I'm curious to see how it is compared to the band. My band slipped and I'm having surgery for the sleeve on the 4th of February. I'm used to the band now and I'm wondering which you opted for and if you are having success or any regrets. Thanks!

    Rebanding tomorrow

Good luck! My band slipped about 6 weeks ago. Mine slipped around the esophagus, though. Was yours the type where the stomach slips up through the band? They said mine only happens in 2% of the cases, so I'm not sure it's the same repair. I wish you the best. My nurse said that once it slips, they can reposition it, but the likelihood it will slip again is greater. I don't think it's that way with all. I'm sure yours will be fine. If it was working well for you. I'm all for it. My mom and sister both had it done and they've had no complications at all. My sister has been most successful. Let me know how it goes! I currently have no fluid in mine and I'm gaining weight like crazy. Dud they say if it would be the same recovery time?
  15. Wow I need to check for autocorrect before I post... Sorry!!!
  16. LipstickLady, That is so good to hear! I love kids being active. I just have to force myself outside if my comfort place, I guess. I had started Jazzercise and was loving it, but then my son started xcountyr and I can't go anymore, so I stopped moving altogether. He has a better schedule with track season approaching, but fall was tough. He had to be to school by 5:30 (he still doesn't drive) each morning before school and was there until 5:30 at night (with school in between), then Saturdays he had meets.... So I felt like life revived around his exercising. I just have to walk while he's running or something. I just get so exhausted and have all the mom and teacher duties after. I know we all do, but I make excuses. I used to have an indoor bike and I'd Rudd for an hour or 2 each night when he was asleep. For me I think my best option is an at home thing late at night. I get too stressed with dinner, cleaning, laundry, homework, grading papers, and everything else, to try to fit it in during the day. Anyway... I live that you guys are active together. My goal is that I will be able to have enough weight off and to run with him by his senior year.
  17. I have two active teens. We have spent SO MUCH quality time together .... wait for it ..... wait for it .... BEING ACTIVE!! My oldest and I like to Zumba, my youngest and I like to swim. All of us do martial arts and kickboxing together. We love to walk the mall and they make sure I get my 10k steps in. Rarely do we sit around and watch movies, now we get out and go to the park, to the soccer fields, to the track, to the gym... Building muscles AND memories.
  18. So basically 2 hours a day of walking? Wow... I need to get a treadmill or something. I'm a teacher and a single mom of an active teenager... I've got to be present. I know from experience even when I'm tired... exercising gives you energy...it's just doing it. Alright. Going to make it a goal... Thanks!
  19. That's amazing! Great work! I've never been an exerciser (well after high school... Was on track and tennis teams) but it looks like that's going to be what I need to work towards, after my surgery. I'm so heavy I find it hurts my knees a lot. What did you start with? Just planning ahead. My surgery is scheduled for Feb. 4th. I'm getting the sleeve and having the lapband removed. Anyone know how to change your profile? Mine still says lapband, but after surgery I want to change it. Thanks! ???? Also everyone post their weights, but no one says how tall they are. People start the surgery at 220 and I'm like wow, I can't wait to be 220. But I'm guessing they are much shorter... Anyway now I'm rambling. ????
