Was just banded Dec 30th. Supposed to be on 2 weeks of full liquids. Its a good learning curve in not over filling my belly - luckily when I do the fluid emptys in minutes...if I did that with solids I can't imagine how unbareble that would be!
I had bad vomiting after a surpery - since then I tell the anesthsia doc and get zofran during surgery...and as someone who recovers people after surgery - few vomit. You just gotta not rush the whole oral intake thig (you will be soooo parched) Good luck...I just had mine done Dec 30th!
I was banded Dec 30th 2011. My BMI was right at 35 I believe (being tall helps) Acutally wouldn't have bothered if if werent for health issues - but it has already helped. And, lets face it, I am looking forward to comfortable plane rides and fitting in roller coasters...not to mention cute clothes.
Amee - had mine done in Columbia too - just Dec 30th by Dr Pitt. The staff couldn't say enough nice things about him - and they don't have to do that! Everything went well and was headed home in about 6 1/2 hours after arrival. I am sore and learning to sip. Too much of a gulp is a b***h! Going to be the perfect thing for me though - I am very relieved!
I just had my surgery Dec 30th. Went great. Now just getting used to drinking very very small amounts at a time. Prepare to be sore but it isnt too bad. If you tske too big of a sip wait a few minutes and the pain will go away...its a learning curve
