  1. Thanks for the replies! It always helps to know what others are going through!
  2. I just had my first fill yesterday. I was on clear liquids yesterday am prior to the fill. Today I have eaten liquids and a small amount of mushy foods. My Doctor put in 1cc. I had gone for my 1st fill 2 weeks ago and he couldn't access my port. He wanted me to come back after my Spring Break (trip). It took him quite a while to hit my port yesterday but he finally did! I was starting to get worried. I am kind of bruised around the port site. I sure hope that the second fill is easier. Has anyone else experienced anything like this???:help:
  3. Thanks to both of you for the encouraging words. I just need to keep a positive attitude!
  4. I went in today to get my first fill. I am 6 weeks post op. The Doctor was unable to access my port. He tried multiple times. He finally stopped because I was getting quesy and light headed. He waited and opened another kit and tried again, still with no success. He finally stopped because he was afraid that I would get a hematoma. I am going to go back in a couple of weeks. You can feel my port from the outside. It is in the right place. Have any of you ever experienced this before????? Thanks, I am feeling a little down right now.:cry
  5. Dr. John Baker performed my surgery in Little Rock. I think he is a very good surgeon. He shares an office with Dr. Wellborn but they are not partners.
  6. I don't think that is normal. Have you called your MD? I wonder if you have something stuck that is causing you to vomit. I suggest you get in contact with your MD ASAP!!!!
  7. I was banded on 2/7/07. I am able to eat anything and have absolutely no restriction. I go for my first fill in 3 weeks. I know that I am going to gain! Should I not be drinking with my meals yet or does that start after I have my first fill? Maybe that is my problem. Please advise!!!!:hungry:
  8. I have 3 weeks until my first fill (banded on 2/7). I am hungry and can eat almost anything. I am also worried about gaining. It is hard to have the willpower that I need. That is how I became overweight to begin with. I am trying to exercise - but I am probably not doing enough. I think you are on the right track by watching portion control. We all know how important that is. Good Luck!
  9. I am 4 weeks post op today. I go to the Doctor for a check-up on Friday. I am very hungry. I can't wait to get my first fill. I'm sure that will be at 6 weeks. I am finding it hard not to eat right now. I can eat almost anything (except bread) To my fellow Feb Bandsters, are you experiencing anything like this?
  10. I was banded on 2/7. I am basically able to eat anything. I am not eating as much as I was pre-op but I am eating. I am so anxious to get my first fill. I go for my 4 week check-up this week. I am anxious to see what the Doctor says. For those of you who were banded close to my date, are you able to eat normally? Just wondering.:hungry:
  11. Don't feel bad, I did the same thing. I guess I wanted to try things out and see if I could tolerate them I was banded on 2/7. I will be 2 weeks out on Wednesday. I actually ate some chocolate. Guess what I kept it down! Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Hang in there.
  12. I was banded on 2/7/07 and have chosen not to tell my co-workers. I have always been brutally honest, but for some reason decided to keep quiet. I didn't want everyone staring at what I was eating. I think its o.k. to keep it private. Hang in there!
  13. I was banded on 2/7. I was planning on going back to work today but that didn't happen. I may go back Wednesday (that will be 1 week out). I am still very sore. I am not having any trouble eating or drinking. Did your surgeon put any saline in your band during surgery? Just curious
  14. I was banded this past week. What are you eating? Are you having trouble getting all of your protein in?
