If you were on Depo for 9 years please have your doctor check your bones (bone density test). Most docs only give it for 2 years at a time because of the bone loss.
  2. I had the sleeve by Dr Aceves in Nov. My cousin came with me and stayed in the room. He ate in the cafeteria or a Chinese place across the street. He brought his computer and was able to get work done. The hospital has free Wifi. BTW surgery is working great and I have not had any complications. Dr. Aceves was very good.
  3. You should also be measuring yourself. I stalled for a week and everyday people were telling me I looked smaller. I measure myself ( I use fitday) every 2 weeks
  4. I was self pay and did it in Mexico. It was not the least expensive option I found, but it was done in a hospital by a board certified surgeon who got great reviews. I am 1 month out and took only one pain pill and am very happy I got it done. Let me know if you want more info.
  5. Try the Protein shots. They are about 3 oz and have 45g of protein. They still taste bad, but the volume is much less. When I was on the clear liquid phase I did one a day. Once you get to full liquids, the GNC 25 g shake is pretty good and I cut the shots to one every other day.
  6. I just missed you. I left Mexicali today. I had surgery with him and would highly recommend him. Very professional and attentive. I saw both surgeons twice a day. If you can try and walk at sometime after the surgery and if you brought a heating pad with you, putting it on your back post op day 1 will help with the shoulder pain. I had very little pain and did not need any post-operative narcotics. Let go on our weight loss journey together.
  7. I am new to this community. I had my surgery with Drs Aceves and Campos. I had a great experience and on post op day 3, I am heading home. I have already lost 30 lbs pre-op and plan to lost another 130lbs over the next year. Anyone want to help me along the journey?? FWI: I was initalling refused by my insurance compnay (BCBS of Tenn) and then decided to do self pay with Dr. Aceves. I got a call today that BCBS reexaimined my case and then approved it. They still wanted me to do another 6-8 weeks of classes. I am so glad that I just went ahead and did it.
