Hey , to previous poster...I got banded on the 22nd of December, the day before you. They told me I couldnt do mushies for another week (2 weeks after surgery). You were allowed to start mushies already? Just curious because I am soooo ready for mushies but I dont want to rush things unnecessarily! Crystal

I have had two C-Sections plus my gallbladder removed. My C- Section were terrible and so was the recovery. The lapband recovery was a walk in the park

I am in lapband hell ...my appetite is back with a vengeance. It doesnt help that my family is gathering today and my mom made mac n cheese, collard greens, baked chicken wings, rice w/shrimp, and ham. These are all my favorities. I feel depressed....I am sick of liquids ...i will make it through...This is sooo hard....I need some restriction in my life

Hi guys, All I have been doing is Protein shakes, tea, and sugar free hot chocolate...I hate Soup and the texture of Jello...whats wrong with me ...Well I am glad that I dont have to put tuna and stuff like that in a blender because I have serious texture issues with food. I am sooooo over this liquid phase. I cant wait for something else, and we can all definately be band buddies. I would love the support. Nobody else in my circle can really understand what I am going through! Crystal

Sorry that I dont have any answers for you because I just got banded 6 days ago and I am starving. Me and the liquids are just not getting along. However, I wanted to ask you do you know when your doc intends to give you a fill? How was the tuna ? I really think I am going to have a hard time with the pureed phase. I cant imagine eating anything pureed and I cant see myself on baby food. I might just have to stay on liquids until soft solids or stick to pudding, yogurt, and applesause yikes. Did you put the tuna in a blender and how much would u say u ate ? Crystal

I am on Day 5 since the lapband surgery and I finally "went" today. It felt great and I literally lost 1 pound according to my scale . I called the docs office because i was concerned about this since I hadnt had one in 7 days (presurgery). They told me its normal and that I could take many of the popular stool softeners, miralox and things like that. I didnt even need to go that route though because it came on its own. I would suggest calling your own docs office to get the okay from them...Good Luck

Congratulations on the 9lb weight loss. I too was banded 5 days ago. I did some crying as well. It was more from me missing my relationship with food and my family eating all around me. Its especially hard because I have to cook for my two young children. I lost 5lbs in 5 days but 17lbs total since i had to start optifast on 12/9/11 which was 2 weeks before the surgery. I know what you mean about the pain on the left side near rib. I get the same pain every now and again, but outside of that I feel great. Decaf Tea has become my best friend, as well as pina colada protein shakes. I am not into soups so thats what I have been living off of...Good Luck to you...this is such an exciting time for the both of us

I cant wait to have a success story like these...I just got banded 5 days ago. I can already see a change in my clothes....I started optifast 12/9...two weeks before surgery, and I have lost 18 lbs in 2 weeks....I am excited already. Keep up the good work you guys. I cant say that I love my band right now because I am in starvation mode thanks to the liquid phase but I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

i have been crying like a big baby over food...everytime I smell it I desire it. I have been doing very well at staying away but the urge still exist. I cant stand protein shakes and I feel like I am wasting my money by trying different brands and then hating them...I know this phase will pass, but it needs to hurry up

I am 5'2", 229lbs. My last weight in prior to surgery was 243. I hope I am successful with the lapband. I got sick of struggling with my weight. I am so hungry that I actually miss having optifast ....I look forward to and welcome all comments from people who can relate. Thank you in advance...

Please just know that you are not alone...I got banded 3 days ago and I am really fighting with mental hunger. I am starving because my family is eating all the foods that i love. Its been harder than I could ever imagine...I guess its because its around the holidays that makes it that much harder. I cant believe I am actually looking forward to the pureed stage..yikes
