  1. congratulations hon! So happy to hear that. I know you are glowing now!
  2. Looking great! So glad to hear you are feeling more confident and free to be you. I hope to feel that on my one year surgiversary.
  3. I am with you on this one! Went to Chili's with hubby one time and got the baked potato soup and just ate the soup and mashed the potatoes in it and ate that. Skipped the bacon bits and chives inside as they were a bit much on the new tummy. Then went to Outback one time and ordered quesadillas and ate the inside of one and was full. No one really said anything to me but I did notice the server was trying to stuff more food down my throat lol. Told him I just wasn't hungry.
  4. I agree with readyforachange. This happens to some people. I do think it's the IV fluids as well. You get pumped up with them and it takes some time. Plus, also remember that airplane flights can cause fluid retention if you flew anywhere for surgery. So either one or both of those could have contributed!
  5. that's great! Congratulations on the weight loss and looking good.
  6. Kim david- Please consider getting resleeved in Mexico for 4500-5500$. I would be peeved if I had surgery and did not lose the weight. Or consider a resleeve and duodenal switch surgery in Mexico or somewhere it is affordable. If you can afford it in the States, then do it. DON"T let your problems after surgery make you bitter & angry. Consider these options to get the weight off and I guarantee you will not fear as bitter and angry. As far as suing the doctor, keep trying to do what you need to do to get it sorted out. I mean I am sure they didn't even apologize? That would tick me off. Even an apology would probably work.
  7. Congratulations on your weight loss!
  8. You are feeling all of the normal things that we all feel. I felt scared, nervous, and worried that I would be one of the few people who didn't lose weight even with surgery. I am only 3 weeks out so I don't know if I will be a success yet, but the restriction is quite helpful so far.The emotions will be better once you are over surgery and you begin to feel somewhat normal. Good luck
  9. I agree with Pookeyism! Get proof of your 911 call and get a lawyer! A medical review board of doctors are likely going to be skeptical. They are not really objective.
  10. So relieved for you! The pain you went through sounds awful. I am sure you feel like dancing right now lol. I am glad to hear the stent is gone.
  11. One bad day is not the end of the world. Don't beat yourself over it. It's been said a thousand times that people diet their way fat. If you deprive yourself TOO much, you will perhaps binge and overeat and it will be a bad cycle. Just be smart and do what you feel is right. No one is perfect.
  12. You just have to ignore these types of people and laugh them off. Tell them you are watching your weight for personal health reasons and it is highly important. They don't have to live in your body. You do.. It's your life. If they don't understand, that is their problem. I think avoiding negative people post op is very important. If I were you, I'd avoid them as much as possible
  13. The only thing I know is many people stall in week 3 for a week or so. It is really common. Also, is it close to your time of the month? That could be it a little too.
  14. That is so awesome!! I know you're feeling so happy!
  15. Congratulations on a stunning transformation!! Lookin' healthy and happy. You're going to be a hottie for the dating world. Congrats on your divorce. You sound like you want the divorce and it's a positive thing, and I have been divorced before so I know that getting one can be liberating. Wishing you all of the best!!
  16. Bless your heart. You went through a lot. It is very scary what happened to you. I just know you feel blessed to be alive and the only good that can come from it is you can be more grateful to be alive every day. God bless!
  17. I haven't had a diet soda after being pretty hooked for all of my adult life in a month and I don't miss it at all. I have been drinking Mio and crystal lite and I really like the Sobe waters that are zero calorie. I will probably never touch a soda again because I know how addicted I was. It would be like me picking up my cigarette habit again.
  18. Awww that was so sweet! I am so happy for you and your son!! Bless his sweet little heart. And momma was there to play and cheer him on. Your son is so proud of you and that must be a non scale victory of epic proportions!
  19. Yo Texas peeps! No one is from killeen and the only person I met from here is at Ft. Hood and won't even talk to me for some reason. Whatevs! If anyone needs a text or emailing friend, I'm here.
  20. Congrats to you! I think you will feel much better without the hanging skin issues you currently face and will be on the road to a faster, more mobile you in the process. That has got to be very exciting!
  21. What a great detailed review! I really enjoyed reading it. It sounds like you had a phenomenal experience. So happy for you!
  22. I am not going to try chicken or anything like that until about 6 weeks out. Right now the mashed potatoes and creamy soups are going down ok and I enjoy them but as for chicken, I know I couldn't hold it down. I do look forward to it though because chicken is great for protein.
  23. I really think the 30 lb drop is why it is stalling. You will break the stall. That is a large weight loss. Give this thing some time.
  24. Yup I bought the KFC mashed potatoes and they are soooo good. I also bought a small cup of Chili's baked potato soup and mashed the potatoes in it and it was delicious.
