  1. Surgery 12/15/11 and feeling good! Feeling like my weight loss is slowing so time to exercise. Have been making some bad food choices and just can't get my liquids in. I think I just need to try harder but it's so hard to eat and drink when you aren't hungry or thirsty. Would love to hear from other sleevers!

3 Months And Down 51 Pounds!

No this is since surgery. I want to lose another 100 !
  3. I have felt so bad the past few days. Went to the Dr Friday he gave me a new dissolvable med for acid. He told me start trying some soft foods since I can't stomach soups anymore. Saturday I took the new med and tried to sip liquids. Everyone I think of eating I get sick. I've tried everything! Yesterday I vomited after taking the prevacid. Sipped liquids all day. Tried applesauce and a couple small bites sweet potato for dinner. Started burping a very disgusting taste. Made me feel so sick. Took my medicine dissolved in water and then I started vomiting. It was that awful disgusting taste from burping earlier. Three days no food. I'm so discouraged! I want to cry! I have to find something I can eat. When do you guys take your meds? The Dr said to take the Reglan again for the nausea but it makes me sick too. Can anyone help? Please
  4. Everyone was right, it does get better. I ended up with very low potassium and dehydrated. Spent three days in the hospital. The only good news was that I had an upper GI and the radiologist said my sleeve was perfect! Now I am still having trouble getting in enough liquids but eating is a little easier. The nausea still comes and goes. I still wonder if I did the right thing. I think about food more now than I ever did! I dread eating and cough when I eat. I'm taking two Prilosec daily. I'm losing weight but I'm so tired of constantly thinking about eating and drinking. For those of you who can't eat, ask your doctor about marinol. It is a pill form of medical marijuana that is given to chemo pts to increase appetite. It really works!
  5. I'm sure everything went fine. Relax and rest! Congrats!

  7. Hi Sarah, My name is Debbie and I am in Orlando. I had my surgery Thursday on Dec 15th. Boy I can tell you that I was scared! So much that I almost didn't go! I lost my mom last year to non alcoholic liver cancer. She had been on statins for years and was diabetic. I wad headed down the same path. In June I had a mild heart attack. In July I had a mini stroke. Pre diabetic and with a fatty liver I knew what I had to do. The surgery was not bad at all. I have four incisions including the one where the drain was. They are healing great with very little discomfort. My doctor placed a few staples at the incision sites which will be removed this Friday. Yay! I did not have a pain pump, nor did I need it. I was given pain meds through the IV to stay comfortable and I did not have any nausea. The Important thing is to get up slowly and walk. It will help tremendously. I spent one night in the hsp and once home walked around the house 10 minutes every hour. Gas x chewables help with the gas and remember lots of chapstick. In the hsp you will have a very bad dry mouth and lips. Ice chips and chapstick( actually I prefer Nivea kiss of milk and honey) are a must! I feel really good today. Even did my hair! You can do this! Research your doctor and be prepared. The people on this site are awesome and I would love to keep in touch.

  9. I spent a long day at work wrapping things up before I leave for 2 weeks. Stopped at the pharmacy and filled my Rx's and picked up all the recommended necessities for when I get home. Showered and trying to drink liquids. I'm so scared but I know I can do this. I'm excited to get healthy and be able to move more. This time tomorrow I will hopefully be up and walking! Wish me luck and say a little prayer please!! Be back in a couple days .....
