  2. I'm there with u. I was banded on 12/6. I am not making the best choices right now and my stomach is rumbling away all the time. Having my husband around helps. He is so good about helping me stay on track. The trouble is I'm on vacay and home with the kids and he has been working late. It's not a good cOmbo.
  3. I am right there with u. I am a little over 3 weeks out and I am hungry! I can't wait for my first fill next week. I need some restriction to help slow me down. I am not expecting magic but I am eating more than the 6oz my doc says should be enough. Well, it's not! I eat more like 8-12 oz. !!!!
  4. I have read that weightloss helps with pcos. My sister has it and is looking to get banded.
  5. Saint Francis offers monthly support groups. Call the hospital and ask for nancy case - nutritionist that does the group. You could also ask for dr Artuso's office for the next meeting.
  6. Hi from across the river!

  8. I can't wait for my first fill. I have been eating between a cup and a cup and a half of food and the doc says I should be only eating 6oz at most. I am still hungry after 6oz. :-/ I was banded on the 6th and have my fill next week.
  9. So excited to find this thread!). I've been a vegetarian for the past 17 years. My nutritionist is excited to work with me since she said I'm her first vegetarian bander. I was surprised that I am her first since she has been working with band patients for 10 years.
  10. I had a similar post last week! I'm 11 days post op now and am absolutely on the "what have I done!?" phase. I am mostly good but I have moments where I just want to cry. I made this decision for a healthy life with my family and I keep reminding myself of all the wonderful things I will enjoy that are not food related. I was 282 pre-op and today am 265. I would love to workout but I continue to remind myself that I am healing. I walk all day at work so for now that will have to be enough.
  11. I can't believe my scale is right. It says 268. Day of surgery I was 282. Is this really possible? It hasn't even been a week. I was banded on the 6th. Am I losing my mind? Is my scale broke?
  12. I was banded on the 6th and I am just now starting to feel hungry. Thankfully I get to do puréed foods tomorrow. I am hungry!
  13. Protein drink. Morning snack is 4oz small curd cottage cheese. Lunch is puréed black beans. Afternoon snack will likely be applesauce or protein drink. Dinner is homemade potato soup. I'm so excited to move away from clear liquids! Yay!
  14. I was also banded on 12/6. I have a 10cc lap-band. I was allowed my first purée today and I chose applesauce. I didn't finish the 3oz. I was just done after about 1.5oz. Tomorrow is my first day back at work. I'm a little worried about the gas because I'm a teacher. I'm sure I'll have the kindergarteners on hysterics. I already have my entire menu for tomorrow set aside. For breakfast is a bolthouse farms
  15. I was banded on the 6th and was so upset yesterday that I cried! I could have sworn I was told purée is fine after 3 days but when I talked to my surgeon he said not to start until Monday. Frick. I bawled like a baby. Then I had a nice day including "eating" out with my family. I had orange spice tea while they ate. I felt super hungry when they had pizza for dinner. I'm just dying to have black bean soup and homemade squash soup that I cooked 2 days ago and froze. I wish I had advice but I am right there with you. I just take it one moment at a time.
  16. I'm so excited for tomorrow. I should be able to start puréed foods. My doc has me on 5 meals each of 3 oz of liquid (protein or juice or my vegetarian jello). The rest of the day is all water all day. I'm actually feeling really good today. I get to shower tomorrow and couldn't be happier about it. I am feeling hungry though. Nothing too bad but it's creeping back. Any tips for keeping hunger at bay at this stage?
  17. I was banded on the 6th. I've been doing protein drink from Bolthouse Farms and apple juice and water. I'm vegetarian so don't do Jello but I found really cool 3oz cups of juice gels. Sooo yummy! I've only been allowed 3oz at a time so far. I should be able to go to purée tomorrow. I already made squash soup and potatoe soup and mashed avocado and black bean soup. I put them all in little portioned freezer containers.
  18. Hey all. I just finished day 1 post surgery.
  19. Totally feel like crying too. I am unique in that my surgeon doesn require a pre op diet. He has been doing these surgeries for many years and is cOnfident in knowing who he needs to do one and who doesn't. He doesn't make a blanket rule on it. So, when I say I've been saying goodbye I just mean that my meal choices have been my faves, not that I am going against doc advice. I have been telling my husband that I feel like I'm saying goodbye to a best friend that I have outgrown. It makes me sad but I am ready and excited about the next ste P in my journey. As for nerves - my post got cut off. I was saying that I am nervous about surgery itself since I have never had any surgeries or anesthesia in my life. I am more than ready for the lifestyle changes post op and have been preparing for more than a year. This is such an exciting time!
  20. Hi all. I am new here. I got the call last Monday that I got approved and my surgery is this Tuesday! I simply cannot believe how fast it happened. I'm ready for the post surgery. I am just nervous about the actual surgery. I have never had any surgery for any reason so I worry about anesthesia. Other than that I am excited.
  21. My surgery us scheduled for the 6th. I have been debating tomorrow night. I spent the last three days saying goodbye to foods that won't be on my menu any time soon -if at all. I'm nervous.
