i had surgery in june.. pre and post surgery weight lost total is 78 lbs (i was 248 to 250 lbs before surgery, 228 day of surgery and now I am 170). I went from a size 20W to 12 on my bottom. I am 5'6 and my weight goal is 155 or size 10 bottom.. It has been a slow and steady process, I am very happy with my weight so far. My parents don't know about the surgery and I went home for thanksgiving and I kinda played it off so they did not suspect. They are very adamant though that I shouldn't lose anymore weight, lol, oh well they'll get over it.
the pics are obviously before (at my highest weight) and after (last month, november)

crossviewcutie11 reacted to Lissa in August 2011 Gastric Sleevers! You aren't a failure!! You have a lower BMI than many of us, so you will probably lose slower than many others. Don't feel like a failure. When is the last time you lost 30 pounds in 3 months? How about never???
You're doing great! You'll be at goal while I'm still slogging away at my weight loss.

crossviewcutie11 reacted to Makingchanges in December Sleever Here’s A Prayer For You Too Pray If You Like.I thought this would be a good prayer to pray, for you to bring comfort and peace doing this time, God bless you!!!
Father in the mighty name of Jesus, I ask you Lord to touch the mind and hands of each surgeon, nurse, anesthesiologist and caretaker who will come in contact with me during my hospital stay. Lord, I pray that my liver is small enough so that the surgeon could work around it. Lord I pray that there would be no complication during or after surgery. Father, Allow no hurt, harm or danger to come to me. I pray for minimal pain, minimal gas and no mishaps. I pray that I will return home as scheduled, and that my recovery will be an easy one. Lord, I know that I am in your hand and it’s You whom I put ALL my trust in and that You O’ Lord have control over everything and I am glad that You are my keeper and my safety place is in You Lord where I hide myself and find rest.
Thank You, Father for being the Creator of all things and creating me, NO ONE knows this body better than You.
Lord, I also ask in the name of Jesus that you would watch over my children, while I am in the hospital, place Your Holy Angels around them, for You, O’ Lord am their safety nest too. Thank You Father.
Amen.

crossviewcutie11 reacted to Tiffykins in My thoughts on pregnancy.Ash, I'm right there with you, and understand how you feel. We quit preventing pregnancy last month, and while we aren't humping like rabbits, I am charting.
I talked to my surgeon, nut and PCP all agree that I can start now. I'm 33, and will be 34 in December so my clock is ticking big time. Getting pregnant and delivering a healthy baby was a huge driving force for me in having this surgeon, and getting to healthy weight.
Vent away. I'm so scared it's going to take us forever to get pregnant, and if I see one more cute pregnant baby belly, I'll scream.

crossviewcutie11 reacted to Tai29 in CignaIt's ALWAYS ALWAYS best to check with the insurance company first. The type of plan you have may differ from others depending on if this is employer/group or individual coverage. Also depending on which type of Cigna plan type/product (***, PPO, POS) you have. With that being said, what I have run into the most with Cigna is they want your BMI to be at least 40 OR a BMI 35-39.9 with a comorbidity such as sleep apnea, diabetes, or hypertension just to name a few. Your surgeon's office should submit a treatment plan, or pre-determination letter to Cigna including CPT and diagnosis codes to further guage if Cigna will consider you eligible for this procedure. I hope this helps. :-)

way better!!!! whoo hoo! just discovered a position that used to be my favorite before weight gain, and havent been able to do in a very long time. i was just able to do it again
loving it!! so is the hubby!
i agree with the others that it is his self confidence going down worrying that other men are gonna start noticing you. my hubby has already told me that he is worried about that. i told him that i chose him before i gained the weight and there is no reason for me to not keep chosing him after i lose it too. he loved me through all of this and has been my biggest supporter. even when i was at my highest weight and i had to step on the scale and was obviosly worried about his reaction to how much i weighed he said to me, "dont worry about how much you weigh baby, i love you no matter what your size is."
how could any other man take my eyes off of him when he loves me through thick and thin, literally.

I agree with feedyoureye. finding a good counselor may help.
fluffy, lol i DID go on a shopping spree last week since I'm CLOSE to goal size and considering winter stuff can be a little baggy and be ok, i finally gave in. i'm holding off on serious bra/underwear spending until i'm at goal..at least for VS/Fred's stuff. Believe me I've been looking! I did buy several bra/underwear sets at LB recently so I hope that boosts the girls back where they belong. I think I may just end up putting a "no braless sex" rule in place dh could care if i wore a burlap sack he's so enamored with my new body so i know it's all in my own head. funny story... there's a rumor going around that my dh is going around town with some skinny chick NOT his wife (when in fact it IS his wife..even my closest friends have told me i look like someone entirely not like me)... LOL so our joke is that he's cheating on his wife with his wife.

crossviewcutie11 reacted to goldenraisin214 in Pre-op Blues!wow, i feel the same way, and i don't even have a date yet! i've been trying really hard not to buy clothes, while fighting the urge to pack up everything in my closet and take it to the goodwill! i feel so uncomfortable in my clothes, when i'm sure i wasn't as aware of that feeling a couple of months ago...part of me wants to go on a diet, just to show the doctors that i can be disciplined; another part of me feels like what is the point, i might as well eat everything in sight since i'm planning on having the surgery(i guess that's the "food funeral" thing  )...nope, you are definitely not alone.

crossviewcutie11 reacted to fell4falls in Pre-op Blues! My surgery is scheduled for January 3, and I am definitely feeling the pre-op blues. It's like as soon as I got scheduled, I became hyperaware of my size. I am glad that I am not alone in this feeling.

crossviewcutie11 reacted to favoredone in I Feel So Guilty For Wanting The Gastric Sleeve Surgery This Year...I think if you find a surgeon that you trust, go for it.. I'm unsure as to how the approval process works, I guess they approve the surgery and not just the surgeon??!!??..

crossviewcutie11 reacted to blinger12 in 1st Post And Need Advice! Those nay-saying idiots really get my Irish up. This is YOUR journey and no one has any right to say anything destructive. It's tough enough to make the decision to change your life in such a positive way. First, you don't owe anyone at work an explanation. I told everyone because I was happy about getting the chance to do it (and I'm an open book most of the time anyway). So much of life is about personal boundaries. When someone starts giving their negative opinion about the choices YOU are making about YOUR life, just politely but firmly tell them you are looking forward to the surgery and change the subject. Even idiots get the point.
